Re: 2011 ECF: (1) Bulls vs. (2) Heat

When I saw those two dunks I got off my seat aswell and All I had to say was:OOOOHHHHHHH! :D especially on the putback dunk because it was already garbage time so I didn't expect something like that

Every team wants to win on their home court, same as they want to win on the road. Heck, all teams want to win. What's your point? Heat are bored?

Holy fuck, just saw Gibson's dunk on Wade.

is $20 that hard to come up with in 8 months?

didn't take long- Wade already throwing his teammates under the bus

Andrew wrote:Seeing as how they were beaten so badly on the boards, I'm guessing he'll shy away from going with that smaller lineup, probably give Haslem a bit more of a run along with Dampier and Ilgauskas (assuming they are actually both good to go).

I'm very interested to see what adjustments Coach Spo will make. i'd like to see Haslem, who hasn't played all year, play more. heck of a time to get in nba shape. Dampier and Ilgauskas will just make it easier for the bulls to collapse on James/Wade when they drive.

what do Miami heat fans think the heat should do????

Re: 2011 ECF: (1) Bulls vs. (2) Heat

Tue May 17, 2011 8:43 am

Haslem really does need to play more, Magloire should continue to warm the bench like he should, Dampier and Ilgauskas need to play instead of Juwan Howard, even though they're all older than fuck, and I don't think it would be a bad idea to play Pittmann for a bit, just as a big body down low- that guy's huge!

It's obvious. Boxing out and not allowing too many second chances.

This game reminded me of 3rd game of Boston vs Heat series. The Heat just gave up in the 3rd quarter against tough D. Need to find a hole in D by perhaps hitting some 3s and running sets that involves more than iso. Same excuse/plan all the same from last time.

I agree with you Zans and it's basically rebounding and closing off shots. I guarantee you LeBron will no have another game like that and Wade as well. As long as the team plays good defense and their big three scores, the HEAT will be fine. I say they let Rose get his points and focus on his teammates more because there's no possible way he CAN score all their points.

But you see that'll be the problem. The Heat have no big men to keep Noah and Boozer off the boards. Z and Magloire are too slow, and Dampier hasn't even played in the playoffs. Joel Anthony is the only one who has a somewhat legitimate chance at the task, but again, it's two big men you're trying to keep off the boards here. As great as Joel Anthony is, I don't think he can contain both at the same time. The Heat will just have to depend on other things to keep them alive in this series, as rebounding, Derrick Rose, and defense are things in which the Bulls will edge them in every game.

They could try to get Bosh and LeBron to rebound a little. :cheeky:

Re: 2011 ECF: (1) Bulls vs. (2) Heat

Wed May 18, 2011 9:39 am

But LeBron got 6 rebounds and Bosh got 9 which is not that bad. Thats the most anybody else got on the team besides Joel Anthony. Maybe they should play LeBron at the 4 a little more. Honestly he can rebound better than most of the bigs on the team.

Should've said "a little MORE"

That's the reasoning behind my statement as well.

Re: 2011 ECF: (1) Bulls vs. (2) Heat

Oh, my bad. That will even be a hard task for LeBron so they might have to sacrifice his scoring which might be for the best anyways. Run more sets where Wade has the ball in his hands more on the offensive end.

Edit: Other than that there isn't much they could do. Chicago plays better as a team, has the better bench and Thib's defense to go along with that. The Heat do have the Big 3 but other than that they are outmatched.

Re: 2011 ECF: (1) Bulls vs. (2) Heat

It's somewhat funny that Big Z didn't play a minute in Game 1, who actually was a starter in the previous 2 series. Also where Dampier at? These two guys were the starters for the most of season. Spo should have used them not Magloire or Haslem.

Joel belongs to the bench as he is a great energy spark off the bench. He seems to flourish off the bench more where he doesn't have to worry about foul trouble and just play his defense game. And as for Haslem, sorry but you ain't no Haslem of old. He shouldn't be trusted as he isn't 100% and seem to only hurt our chance as the other players aren't really familiar with him. But props to Spoeltra for trying something new though it didn't work. Hope he'll do a better job in game 2.

As for the Heat's rebounding problem, it's all about boxing out. All heat players are decent rebounders as well. It's just that the Heat's bigs were needed on help D way too much in game 1.

What happened was funny but I can't help in thinking that Wade will now have extra motivation in this series. Might even go berserk in game 2.
His pride as player and a father has been shaken by his own son. Like Andrew said, it's personal. His son must be blaming him for the divorce. [/dr. phil]

You're mistaking all of this for him being bored. He could have easily denied his son the dunk.

Kobe would never allow his son to dunk against him, if he had a son. He'll probably block the shite out of it if his daughters tried that against him. Such a competitive spirit and love for the game. [/joy]

Lol... Lebron and Wade definitely aren't the players that are afraid of getting posterized. That's probably why they get blocks consistently.

Gibson's one definitely was sick tho. (Y)

LeBron almost never gets posterized because he doesn't block shots from the front, mostly just chasedowns. (with exceptions of course

That son of Wade's a real dick, LeBron's his favorite player, mocking his father..
