Brad Miller is familiar with Adelman's offense more so than the PGs.

Exactly. He knows Adelman's offense better than anybody on the team. He is such a valuable addition to the Rockets. Much more than I expected in the first place.

I wouldn't be surprised if Adelman gets him as an assistant coach once his playing days are over and if Adelman is still coaching.

I don't see Adelman getting fired anytime soon. Anyways, it's nice to know that Miller can still perform well, for when Yao is out (on back-to-backs, like today), we're not weak at the Center position. We had a 15-point lead against the Lakers at one point, it's like our team do blow leads like that.

The summary of that is Houston is a great team. They became deeper. It's just that the Lakers' bench killed us. :?

I didn't see Patterson in their first game. Did he played against the Warriors?

Patterson's on the inactive list. I don't see much in him, judging by the way he played in preseason, didn't play much then either. :?

Anybody watching the Nuggets game tonight? I probably won't be able to watch it. :(

At least have the decency to play defense. We've allowed 117 PPG in the first three games. :shake:

Yes, as of this post they're giving up the most points per game.

We are the next Golden State Warriors. Seriously, I think it ought to go down as the season progresses. A win against New Orleans on Wednesday would really uplift us, but seeing that they beat SA on the road, it's not gonna be easy. :(

All we hear about all the time is "Rick Adelman's offense". We never hear anything about "Rick Adelman's defense" so yeah, get used to it.

What really gets me is Battier's defense. I understand that it will surely decline as he ages, but he can't seem to contain anybody nowadays when he used to be able to make Kobe go 12-34 from the field just a couple of years ago. Monta almost couldn't miss then. Anyway, it's only been three games. Far too early to judge anything.

0-4. Did anyone caught why Brooks was ejected? I didn't see anything. A very disappointing start to the season. God knows when we'll get on track.

Damn, do we ever make/get a stop in the final period?

With that kind of defensive futility, forget about going to watch a Rockets game now. I'm not wasting time or money to watch the frustration that is this defense.

Didn't catch why AB was ejected, stopped watching after he missed the ill-advised three. If we ever get a stop in the final period, that'll be the day Ben Wallace can make over 50% of his free throws.

lol at the Rockets plan to preserve Yao for the playoffs. They won't even make the playoffs if they continue like this.

That's the major problem. Just look at the games against the Lakers, Warriors, and the Nuggets. We were leading at that time, but inconsistency at the defensive end is the reason why we lose.

shadowGrinch wrote:lol at the Rockets plan to preserve Yao for the playoffs. They won't even make the playoffs if they continue like this.

Yeah, maybe they overlooked that decision to preserve Yao. It's not doing good right now.

Fuck all this. Someone needs to step up and be a leader on the defensive end. Battier's days as a good defender are long gone. Good to see Jordan Hill finally getting minutes though. He's our best shot blocker yet he's glued to the bench.

Brooks is screwed up mentally right now. He needs to put all things and frustrations aside and just play smart basketball.

So much for being a pro and not worrying about a contract extension.

Silver lining to Battier being washed up is that it'll open up time for Harrison Barnes. (Y)

Top Five Ranked Adelman Teams on Defense: Ten. (Top Ten: Twelve.)
Number of games so far in the season: Four.
Number of games in which the opponent had an above average offensive performance in comparison to rest of league: Two.

The Lakers and Nuggets were held down, the Warriors had a hot game, and the Hornets took 42 free throws. I wouldn't panic that this is the Houston Raptors, 5% of the season in.

Exactly. I think this contract extension thingy is bothering him the most out of all problems. Not to even mention that his wife gave birth to a twin baby right before last night's game.
