this just in.... (my head) T-mac to Orlando for Lewis and a bench player or cash.
carter and T-mac together again, wouldnt that be crazy?
Point Guard Jameer Nelson Jason Williams
Shooting Guard Vince Carter J.J. Redick
Small Forward Tracy McGrady Mickael Pietrus
Power Forward Brandon Bass Ryan Anderson
Center Dwight Howard Marcin Gortat
that's a pretty sick lineup right there
Thu Dec 31, 2009 9:39 am
I don't think Orlando gives much thought to that deal at this point.
Thu Dec 31, 2009 11:46 am
yea, it's no way orlando would even think on that deal.
but, who knows..it's where amazing happens
and kingjammes23, u're right that's pretty sick lineup there..

Its a bad move in terms of talent, but it would save the Magic a lot of money. However, the whole reason the team is so dominant is because they have sharpshooting at the 1-4 positions. Unless they make another move to get another PF who can shoot the 3 for Bass/Gortat and filler (much easier said than done), its a bad idea.
Love the Rockets/Bulls proposal though

Yeah I wouldn't be too unhappy if the Bulls/Rockets deal ends up happening.

Did I miss something. What was Rockets/Bulls Proposal?
Fri Jan 01, 2010 11:10 am
It's sad to see T-Mac get traded. The only reason why I supported the rockets was to hopefully see T-Mac return to his old form. Well, at least it is for the best.
Also, what was the rockets bulls proposal??
Fri Jan 01, 2010 12:49 pm
It is in the Bulls thread:
Jerome James, Brad Miller, and John Salmons for T-Mac.

Touche. Didn't realize Ryan Anderson was doing so well.

Ryan Anderson is competent from beyond the arc. Bass has a decent mid-range game right?

Not sure if this has been posted, but I read this somewhere the other day:
http://dimemag.com/2010/01/nba-trade-rumor-tracy-mcgrady-for-andre-iguodala-and-youth/I don't see how this works unless Philly wants to totally sell out and try to get their fans to come watch 3 guys who were at their best in the 2002 All-Star Game. It seems like Houston may be valuing McGrady's contract a little bit more than they should be (at least if they hope to move him).
Sat Jan 02, 2010 1:39 pm
Surely, Philadelphia wouldn't seriously be considering such a deal unless they've completely given up on Iguodala being a vital player on a better Sixers team.
Sat Jan 02, 2010 3:35 pm
The rumours are everywhere though. Butler for T-Mac. Arenas for T-Mac. Etc.
In Morey I trust. For now.
Sat Jan 02, 2010 5:51 pm
No question, every half-plausible scenario will be thrown out there by journalists of varying credibility. It seems probable that something will happen before the deadline, I would assume the Rockets will want to have the matter over and done with and someone will be willing to give T-Mac a shot for half a season simply to benefit from his expiring contract when it's over.
Sat Jan 02, 2010 10:39 pm
The moment I read about T-Mac taking his leave out of the Rockets, I felt sad that I wasn't even able to see his limited time with the Rockets this season.
I guess what Adelman did was the opposite of what Stan Van Gundy did to Jameer Nelson in the Finals -- but for the worst as we all know.

If he's gonna be traded, I guess Charlotte is a good place to be. Stephen Jackson should sit it out.
Sun Jan 03, 2010 1:44 am
Exactly. Captain Jack is terrible. He jacks up 20+ hopeless shots per game and still manage to average only 18 points.

I only see two realistic trades..one to the Knicks because they have players there with high contracts with lots of conflicts/tension..Also getting McGrady would boost their sells for the year as well allow them to sign big free agent next year..kill two birds with one stone..or to the Heat for O'neal...as the rockets need a C and O'neal has been a boost thus far...Also make Wade happy and try to please him to resign..
Wed Jan 06, 2010 12:24 pm
Both trades that you said works, but I doubt the Heat-Rockets trade will go through. No matter how bad the Rockets need a center, they doesn't want O'Neal.
Wed Jan 06, 2010 8:59 pm
And that would leave Miami with Joel Anthony and Jamaal Magloire as their centers.

T-Mac to Knicks not a good fitOf note:
"I think there's a deal to be done, probably at the deadline," Morey said. "Teams don't generally move early, especially on one this big. I think there's enough interest from enough teams who either like McGrady or are looking to save money."

And O'neal hasn't been that terrible, even though he could have played at higher level. As a fan, I'd love to see T-Mac in Heat uniform, but the risk seems little too big.

I think differently. The risk is definitely there, but it's definitely worth taking. Like I said, it's a win-win situation. Experiment with T-Mac. Give him starter's minutes and see how he performs. If he plays well and helps the team then great, if not just bench him.

How is there a risk? No matter what they do, they get 20+ million off the books, and a first round exit. So they get the 6th seed instead of the 5th if it doesn't work out. Its not like they have a chance at beating one of the big 4 barring a major injury (or two)
