Classic. The league is sponsored by KFC so Burger King comes in and fields a team. I'll take a BBQ Bacon Double Cheeseburger please.

It's like the cheapest 'meat' the masses can buy.

The only consolation is the liquor named team, which has undoubtedly the most number of fans.
Here are its name over the years:
Ginebra Kings or Gin Kings for short
Gilbey's Gin
Anejo Rum
Ginebra San Miguel
Gordon's Gin

The Red Bull team had pretty decent names too. I think they're Barako Bull this season.
The hotdog team is now known as Tender Juicy Giants. Size matters I guess.
Coca-Cola Tigers doesn't make sense at all. Even if the other teams have cheesy names, the Tigers takes the cake for most horrible name.

Arboleda (the dude that went Artest) got suspended for the season, which is only 8 months.

lol at the remark of commentator about hitting a guy with glasses

Don't forget Yee (the guy who went Stephen Jackson,as far as I can remember he was the one who helped Artest beat up the fan just like Yee)

The video above shows Yee did nothing, maybe a bit of trash talking and dissin' but no physical harm done to the spectator. The beat up guy just wants to milk all the compensation he can get.

I think one of the last players of the glory days of Aussie Bball retired today. Tony Ronaldson is retiring at season's end in the NBL. The 90s really provided us with some strong Aussie national teams. A bit of a shame but to be honest, I didn't even know he was still playing. He's 38 now. Ah the good memories.

He had a 4 point play to help us past Croatia and make the Bronze medal game in Athens!

Marbury has been playing for the Shanxi Fenjiu of the CBA and had 15 points on 7-17 shooting (0-6 from deep) and 8 assists in his debut loss against the Dongguan New Century Leopards. They lost again against the Guangdong Tigers last night where Marbury had 15 points (4-18 from the field including 1-7 from 3) and 15 assists.

Not quite Bonzi Wells' staggering numbers, but better than he'd likely be getting an opportunity to produce in the NBA.

Today is the big cup final here in Greece between the two Greek and european powerhouses Olympiakos and Panathinaikos(i believe most of you know those 2 teams as are the 2 best european teams currently) ,who are considered as eternal enemies because that's the biggest derby in all sports here, like Barcelona and R.Madrid.
Both team are in form and this is the first title for this year and Olympiakos needs a title cause he hasn't taken a cup for 10 years! Despite having great roster and players.I'm with Olympiakos and personally i want to get a title after many years without one

Kresimir Cosic Cup (Croatian Cup) is just over. Zagreb beats the favorites, Cibona. A big upset considering that Cibona is playing in Euroleague and is a best Croatian club by far, and Zagreb, an average team, who sent their best player, a very talented Ante Tomic to Real Madrid, took a comfortable win 81-74. It's a 3rd straight season that these two teams meet in a final. Zagreb won 2 out of 3.

Good luck everyone at Final Four - Euroleague.
BTW, at Turkey the playoffs have started. FB Ulker led the series against Bornova 2-0.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MNzUIhs0LJo - this is a rookie , playing in polish league averages 11.5 pkt 7.6 reb 0.9 as 1.3 s and 0.69 blocks per game ...

not bad for a rookie i guess...

I belive that this player can be famous in europe , but he must be taken by some club which is playing in some international cups.

And the polish league have ended Asseco Prokom Gdynia have won for 7th time

Big Greek Finals between Olympiakos and Panathinaikos are tied on 1-1.
Game 3 out of possible 5 will be played this Wednesday at OAKA the home court of Panathinaikos who has the home advantage.
Hopefully my team will win and do the break and go to game 4 and secure the title for the first time after 1997!
And the double as well!

Only thing going for the PBA (Philippine Basketball) right now is that even though they are trying desperately to imitate the NBA at least it doesn't have many ticky-tack fouls like the NBA. No whistle fest. Floppers dropping to the ground like flies but no whistle!
I think the league had a 'flopping' violation last season but determined that it was too hard to call in most occasions, so they removed that and let the players play more physical. Fuk flopping.

Watching college ball is still more enjoyable though.

It seems our basketball league PBA(Philippine Basketball) decided to have a D-League of some sort.

Olympiakos managed to beat Montepaschi Siena for 48 points and lose for 17 (playing on home ground) in a two day period!!!
On Tuesday ,i watched one of the best performances by Olympiakos in the last 10 years and yesterday, well yesterday I saw a breakdown....

Now the series are 1-1 and the game shifts to Italy and Siena, who made the break and have the advantage. We need at least a win there in order either to win the series 3-1,providing we win both games there,or go with the series tied at 2 apiece to Game 5 in Greece...

Wooo, Yi Jianlian carried China to the Asian Championship title. He didn't play as well as he did 2 years ago... but he carried the team.
