I'd say it was, given how the shot clock is often credited as "saving the game" and accounts of some of the lowest scoring games in the pre-shot clock era mention fans pulling out newspapers while players dribbled out a lot of the clock.
Getting back to the game, two True or False questions are left with one of them worth just one point after it was answered incorrectly. Once this round's over I'll post the updated leaderboard and devise a new set of questions.

18. True
20. True

18. Incorrect
20. Correct

18. Incorrect?, butBodz already answered that if it was False then or you mean 20th
Thu Jun 12, 2008 2:33 am
That's indeed my error as Bodz_999's follow up answer was incorrect. Gus Johnson was actually the first player to shatter an NBA backboard while dunking but since Bodz_999 did answer False, his answer is actually correct. Bodz_999 gets two points on that one, thanks for pointing that out.
The True/False questions are a bit more of a burden than they need to be. I might drop them in favour of five regular questions in the next round.

18. Correct (sorry for the mixup)

Shit i didn't get to participate in the second round. Hope i managed to take part of Round 3
Thu Jun 12, 2008 7:43 pm
I'm thinking of adding some more questions and dropping the True/False section altogether. Any preference there?
Fri Jun 13, 2008 2:16 am
Maybe you can still use the true and false, but i think that if it is false you need to give an explanation of why it is false.
Example (stupid, but useful): Magic scored 52 points in the day that he started at center in is rookie year at the NBA finals. False, he scored 45
Something like this

I suppose, but then that makes "True" answers markedly easier. It also makes the game go quicker since as soon as a True/False answer is confirmed as incorrect, the answer is right there on the board for whomever can get there first. At this stage I'd prefer to replace True/False with ten regular questions.

I'll second to that suggestion. Based on Rd 2 whereby I answered q.18 correctly, but I didn't get the player's name right; it creates confusion... it's a grey area...
Fri Jun 13, 2008 11:11 am
Yes, get rid of the T/F questions.
Fri Jun 13, 2008 9:55 pm
That certainly remains my preference. Any thoughts on the questions so far? I don't want to leave contemporary players out of the questions but obviously it's a bit easy if I'm asking questions like "Who led the league in scoring in 2006?" and the like. So yeah, any thoughts on them being too easy or too hard would be most appreciated so I can try and do a better job with future rounds.

Missed the second round, but I'm back now.
And I agree with lamrock. Oh and, maybe it would be even more organized if you [s]cross out[/s] the answered questions rather than putting an 'Answered' behind them.
Mon Jun 16, 2008 7:28 am
That might be easier for everyone, thanks for the suggestion.

Round Three will be up soon.
Mon Jun 16, 2008 7:49 am
I shouldn't have posted in here - now I am last with 0 points...
Looking forward to Round 3 so I can at least grab 1.
Fri Jul 04, 2008 4:30 pm
Andrew, when will Round 3 start???
Sat Jul 05, 2008 2:08 pm
About time I posted some more. As soon as I've come up with a new round of questions, I'll post them. I'll be getting rid of the True/False questions as well.
Mon Jul 07, 2008 9:48 pm
I still intend to post a third round but I've been thinking a bit more about the format. I'm wondering whether it would be preferable to limit everyone to three answers per round (until questions are opened up to everyone again, including those who have already answered three) so that more people have a chance to take part. The last two rounds were over very quickly and with not everyone being online at the same time, people who aren't around when the questions are first posted are missing out.
Does that sound like a good idea to everyone? You'd still be able to garner at least up to nine points per round, more if questions remain unanswered and they're opened up again. It would just give more people a chance to play.
Mon Jul 07, 2008 11:09 pm
So after 3 qns are answered, that person will not be able to answer others until the green light is given again?
Tue Jul 08, 2008 1:54 am
Correct; depending on the number of questions, perhaps I'd increase that to four or five. But if you wanted, you could get in and answer the questions worth two and three points to rack up a lot of points in one round. Basically, I'm just trying to figure out a way for more people to get a chance to take part since the first two rounds were over very quickly.
Tue Jul 08, 2008 4:40 am
I would say, go for it, I think it´s a good idea
Tue Jul 08, 2008 11:16 am
I suppose we can trial it as we've done with other ideas in the first two rounds. Alright, round three will be up soon.
Tue Jul 08, 2008 1:04 pm
T/F is not bad, but whoever get's it wrong should miss a point. Plus, to get the full two marks on a false, you have to state the reason (or the correct fact). To get the second point in True, you get a follow up question on the same topic, and if you get it right, you get your point, if not, you do NOT lose one. If the second point for true and false is open, if the first person doesn't get them is up to Andrew (I vote no).
As for rounds and 3 answers per round, you should be giving answers at a fixed time (say, every 24 hours), thus making the rounds larger in time, so people could get their shot at the Qs.
Tue Jul 08, 2008 1:09 pm
And I think you should be giving specifics even on correct answers. (like, Oscar got a point for Mutombo, but you should add that he is <<allegedly>> 42 years old, to educate us!)
