Surprising loss for the Nuggets against the Kings seeing as how they were without Artest and Miller. And couple that with the Mavs loss to the Lakers, The Warriors have something to cheer about.

Dallas is a little safer being in seventh place with a one game advantage but if they drop a couple of games they could still fall to ninth. With those three teams being as close as they are, there's still enough time for a big enough slip up or last minute push.

And just to make it interesting, the Warriors host the Nuggets next week.

It looks like that Warriors-Nuggets game will decide who makes the playoffs.

Provided Seattle doesn't become the decider. (They all play Seattle starting with Denver in about two and a half hours, Dallas plays them twice.) Utah and the Clippers could also play a key role.

The Mavs' win over the Suns was big, it could be enough to leave the Nuggets and Warriors in a two team race for eighth rather than all three battling for two spots.

Mon Apr 07, 2008 2:12 pm

Payback is a bitch.

Mon Apr 07, 2008 2:20 pm

I am soooooooooo happy Seattle won, otherwise Dubs would have been done!

Also Denver's point totals vs. Seattle this year: 120, 138, 168, 147!

No, they would be 1 game behind, and there is a Warriors/Nuggets match this week.

While I live in Seattle, I was unhappy with the result. Go Nuggets!

Mon Apr 07, 2008 3:12 pm

Lol ok thanks for clearing up Lamrock I really had no idea.... You know I totally missed that fact that they would have only been 1 game down even though I'm a diehard fan... *sarcasm*

when I said they would have been done, I'm just saying it would have been incredibly tough for them to make the playoffs. Being 1 game down is essentially being 2 games down since Denver owns all the tiebreakers. Hoep this clears it up for everyone (*cough Lamrock*)

haha ok that was kinda harsh, my bad.

Saw the replay of the Hornets-Warriors game.

Chris Paul, unbelievable. Even that bad pass/alley-oop to Chandler was converted into a made basket.

I know the Warriors are fun to watch but Ellis stands out and is just damn ridiculous with the way he plays. It's like what Dwyane Wade is supposed to be without the "extra whistles".

tonights game will define who clinch the playoffs between nuggets and warriors.

Fri Apr 11, 2008 12:44 am

Not exactly. It will if Denver wins, but if GS wins, the Nuggets can still make up a game if the Warriors slip, as they own the tiebreaker, if I'm not mistaken.

Fri Apr 11, 2008 12:52 am

Can't wait for tonight. It's gonna be one hell of a game. Watch out for AI carrying Denver to the W with sheer will. 8-) Probably not gonna happen but if it does, that'd be the shit.

Fri Apr 11, 2008 1:40 am

I'd like to see the Nuggets get in the playoffs. AI's been crazy this year!
But I'd also like to see if the Warriors can pull off another 1st round upset..
Either way, the game tonight will be fun to watch!

if GS wins does denver still own the tie breaker since the season matchup would be 2-2?

Fri Apr 11, 2008 3:09 am

it depends. they'd be tied in conference record, so it would depend on how each team does against other Western teams the rest of the way

so far 105 to 90 in 4th Qtr
GO NUGGETS (Y)

Fri Apr 11, 2008 12:15 pm

Up by 17 with six minutes left. Finish them off Nuggets!

Edit: Nuggets win, I almost jinxed them, but AI hit that crazy 3, and the Warriors started missing shots. Take that Chaser.

Edit 2: DIRK IN THE CLUTCH! What a finish! Answering that 3 right back! Mavs clinch a seed.

Fri Apr 11, 2008 12:52 pm

Damn it, Iverson hits an unexpected three and then after Azubuike answers with one of his own, he missed his next four/five shots....The only hope the Warriors have is if they go 3-0 and Denver goes 0-3...but I still feel it's possible. They go against the Jazz and the Rockets and then Memphis. The Nuggets already lost two big games against the Kings and Seattle, so I'm hoping for the same result against Memphis. Warriors still have a more favorable schedule with games against the Clippers and the Sonics, but Phoenix will be their closer.

And the ending for the Mavs-Jazz game was crazy....They left Nowitzki wide open and he hits the game winning three to clinch a playoff spot for the Mavs.

Fri Apr 11, 2008 2:45 pm

yes, come on nuggets :D

Fri Apr 11, 2008 7:07 pm

Awesome, simply awesome. :applaud: :bday:

Sat Apr 12, 2008 12:28 am

Sweet, now the Nuggets can get their 5th straight first round exit (and likely fourth straight 4-1 series loss)!

 yeah, whatever, i dont want to see the warriors beating any team in the first round cus it make the playoffs less interesting

Sat Apr 12, 2008 1:50 am

almost certain that the nuggets are in now so i am starting to look at potential first round matchups. i hope that the spurs can win out and the lakers drop a game or 2 so we can see lakers/suns and spurs/mavs in the first round

Sat Apr 12, 2008 3:42 am

mvpshaq32, It´s still possible , if Warriors go 3-0 and Nuggets 1-2 also, then GS have 50 wins, Nuggets 49. Hopefully this wont happen

Oh that's right. I was thinking that since the Warriors are 1 game behind Denver and if they won all three, they would be half a game ahead of Denver. That's why I thought if Denver won even one game, Warriors would be out. Hopefully it will happen with Utah and Houston looming over Denver.
