I kind of don't want the Blazers to draft Durant because I'm still kind of secretly rooting for a Darius Miles comeback... That and I'm still waiting for the high schoolers Webster and Outlaw to show me something special.

Oden and Aldridge sound great considering that Alridge is more of a jump shooter and Oden is more of an inside guy.

well even though i think durant would be a good fit and maybe a better player over the years, i gotta agree with everyone that ya gotta take oden.still, if they were happy with durant they could get durant and extra draft picks and/or players by letting oden go to seattle.

Steve Blake coming back via free agency is a real possibility (in my opinion, it is likely). He has just bought a house here before the trade and loves the city and the organization.

Anyway, I feel thesame way - I have always sort of liked him, and hoped for him to break through. I don't think you should worry on the Blazers passing on Oden though.

Portland could make a deal with the knicks that are after a good pf. Randolph, Jones, and Dickau for Crawford, Richardson and Rose would be a great deal for both teams.
Oden / Aldridge / Richardson / Roy / Jack with Crawford coming off the bench as 6th man.

i still think people are too quick to say oden will be the better player. i think scoop is completly wrong saying it qwould be stupid to take that mock trade he made, though they could probably get 2-3 other first round picks for swapping with seattle. kinda like the webber/hardaway trade that happened. either way i think people are too sure oden will be the superior player. he will be the first pick, portland wont trade it away so dont worry about that, but i said it awhile back and i still feel it now, in the long run i bet durant proves to be the better player.

Kevin will put up better numbers scoring wise and he will do more things on the floor then Greg. But I 100% guarantee you that Greg Oden will win a championship first, and will win more. He is a championship caliber Center, while Durant will just be another big name swing player that scores a ton of points with a team that hovers around the second round.

Yeah the hype around Oden is unbelievable. It's different than LeBron, who was already demonstrating PG skills in his 6'8" frame. Durant has also demonstrated his skills with his frame. Oden is being hailed a savior on potential still.

Exactly what makes Oden so much more special than Dwight Howard? They're 1" apart. Dwight has higher hops & athleticism IMO, although maybe someone can prove otherwise. Both are probable rebounding leaders. Both have shown inconsistently they can score in the post on traditional post moves. Neither will ever be a ballhandler or shooter.

And hey, who's gonna cry about drafting a bigger version of Dwight Howard? But i don't see this historical player like Olajuwon.

I honestly think Seattle might get the better end of this when we look back in 10 years, similar to how Chicago did better than Houston with Jordan.

yeah i guess you are right, though i do believe he needs to be on the right team with the right coach. only problem with a true center nowadays is teams dont tend to run the offense through them. lucky for him, portland already has some talent, and landing a big like oden will only improve thier chances for free agents

The thought of a Oden/Aldridge front court brings back memories of Robinson/Duncan. It must be pretty good to be a Blazers fan at the moment?

Someone earlier suggested that they look at a getting a franchise point guard.. If i am the Blazers front office, i would try to swing any deal involving Randolph + someone (not including the 1st pick, Aldridge or Roy) to Atlanta, in exchange for the 3rd pick and some fillers.. Yes, yes i know trading Randolph, a 20/10 player, to Atlanta for the 3rd pick seems stupid, but if you use the pick to draft Mike Conley, to me it's brilliant. There are reports that whichever team takes Oden will be asked to try and get Conley, as Oden is a passive player where Conley is the natural leader, and would help ease his transition into the Pro game.. So what does Portland get? A future All Star point guard, who has played on and ran the offense for every team Greg Oden has been on, a guy who will make your Future Hall Of Famer adjust to the NBA much quicker, on account of he knows where and when Oden likes the ball, and his strengths etc.. and thats just starting to scrape what the advantages of having Conley would be..

Thats just my opinion, but if i could have a lineup of:

C: LaMarcus Aldridge
PF: Greg Oden
SF: Martell Webster
SG: Brandon Roy
PG: Mike Conley

Then on the bench you have Pryzbilla, Magloire, Dikau, Jack, Outlaw, Udoka among others.. You could maybe even pull off another small deal to get a Battier type player, someone who can provide leadership and grittiness - Every team needs a guy to set examples and inspire the team by scrapping for loose balls, drawing charges etc.. Im sure any deal involving Magloire/Pryzbilla and Jack/Dikau could land you that type of player.. Then look at your line up, you have the two best big men, who also have the most potential, to come out of any draft in the past 5 (at least) years.. Both of these guys will develop into franchise players, i cant even begin to imagine the Blazers in 2 or so seasons, just brings me back to my Robinson/Duncan reminicing (sp?) haha.. Then at SF, you've got one of the best shooters in the league, at SG you have Roy, the current ROTY, who has already shown hes got what it takes and can step up and lead, then your PG is future All Star, and Odens best friend who knows him inside and out, Mike Conley. If any of my procrastination goes down, all i could do was wish i was a Portland fan

I am about 60% in favour of drafting Oden at the moment and 40% for Durant. I am not really worried about who we draft but I hope we make the right decision. I don't know which player will be better in the long run, so we will just have to wait and see.....

I would really like to see Sergio get more PT this year. He reminds me a lot of Jose Calderon... a great backup PG who has the potential to start. The Blazers seemed to just play better when he was on the floor. I think he has the potential to be a great playmaker...

I agree, Sergio really played well when he was on the court. A duo of Jack and Sergio is really rock solid playmaking-wise and there isn't much of a drop-off even if neither if them are actually true "star" guards.

Still waiting for Webster to become the go-to guy and start getting some minutes...

Lol yes I think it is. This is a different guy of course. Played for Oregon, led the team in scoring with about 17 PPG, and he might have led the Pac-10. I am not sure. Anyway, I have high hopes for him.
