I can't see Billups leaving unless Dumars really stiffs him...and i don't think the demand for him is all that high just because teams aren't going to rebuild around a 31 year old.

anyone think that trading sheed will help our problem? i think chauncey should go as well we need a PG than likes to pass more that score, also keeping hamilton should be a must and tayshaun blew it in the playoffs against the cavs so i dont no wut to do with him any ideas?

personally, i think the pistons should sign and trade billups to seattle for the second pick. then use the pick on Yi and bury him on the bench behind everyone else.

Seems like Billups has two choices now, Stay in Detroit, or go to Milwaukee. Memphis isnt going to pay him a ton of money after drafting Conley, and with the Jrich trade to Charlotte they wont have as much money. Maybe he should flip a coin, that worked out for Agent 0.

Wow this thread is fucked but I'm bumping it.

Rodney Stuckey broke his hand tonight in the third quarter. Looks like Flip Murray could be sticking around a bit longer.

I wish I noticed this thread before.

Darko is clearly a 29/12 player.

Good start to the season. I think Maxiell is just going to get better and better. We really need his energy off the bench. Hopefully Amir will get into the rotation sometime soon so we can see if he's ready to contribute.

I have no idea why he is not in the rotation already. I'm having Darko flashbacks.

At least Maxiell is carrying over his preseason play. And Hayes has looked alright.

Well I guess he has still been recovering from his sprained ankle. I read in the free press that he thinks he's about 95% and could see time tonight or the next game.

"could" meaning he won't because Flip never plays the bench against the good teams.....so, the starters ended up playing 35+ all for nothing!

I think I misread an original story as he was ready to go to start the season. Although, I agree, his biggest challenge might not be injuries.

dammit...we lost a close one last nite. damn 'sheed had two great chances to make a game-tying shot, and he choked both times. chaunce or rip should have driven and created a shot instead of 'sheed posting up :|

i predict we are going to get beat down by the Warriors on our road trip, and probably lose to Utah as well.

Well they better kick some ass tonight. I'll be pretty pissed if I have to go into work tonight after watching the Lions suck it up and the Pistons blow an easy one. :?

I was listening to a podcast last night at work from 1270 of an interview with Chuck Daly and they brought up the rumor of the Pistons and Lakers agreeing to deal Kobe for Rip, Prince, Amir, and a pick, but Kobe would not waive his no-trade clause. Am I crazy or does anyone else think that this move would be terrible also? I just don't think Kobe fits the Detroit image or the Joe Dumars style of basketball.

This would be great....Kobe is exactly what Detroit needs. He's a go to superstar that play's D and expects nothing but the best from his teammates....which means no more nights off on supposedly "meaningless" nights and "turning it on" when it counts (which doesn't work)

What is "Detroit" basketball?...it used to be playing hard, playing D and sharing the ball. Now it's just isolation plays. I'm all for exploiting matchups but not for the entire game....it's no coincidence that with less movement in the offense Detroit has come up short numerously in crunch time in recent times. This lack of motion has rendered Hamilton useless (in the 2nd half of games anyway)....and if we are to play iso ball, hell why not Kobe.

Even if we did this trade we'd be a (better) contending team....a little bit of a thin bench, but hey, Flop hates the bench anyway so what does it matter? And the way Sheed is playing this season... :)

Hayes/Afflalo

Move over Darko. Brezec is gangsta, says Rasheed.
The Pistons are such a tight-knit group that when new guys come into the fold, one of the biggest questions is how they'll fit in off the court rather than on it.

So far, center Primoz Brezec seems to be doing just fine.

He's high-energy, he's very enthusiastic, he plays hard -- he's borderline out-of-control at times," coach Flip Saunders said. "... But you've got to like his enthusiasm. He's really well-liked by the players."

Brezec got kudos for his hustle play in Friday's win, when he dove across the Pistons' bench trying to save a ball from going out of bounds. The move caused several Pistons players to jump out of the way.

"He'll try anything," Saunders said. "I thought it was pretty unique that everyone cleared a path. When you see a guy who's 7-feet, 290 (pounds) running at you, Rip and all of those guys weren't going to stay there and take the hit."

Pistons forward Rasheed Wallace said the only nickname he's come up with for Brezec so far is "gangsta."

Told that Brezec was seen jogging through the streets of Indianapolis during the time when most players are just waking up from their afternoon naps, Wallace said, "See, that's gangsta."

Turns out Brezec just wanted to get to a nearby Starbucks for a hot chocolate before the first bus left for Conseco Fieldhouse.

ok i didnt want to start a new thread cos one is already here....

as a Piston Fan watching us lose to the Knicks and Sixers completely disgusted me....i am so pissiated right now....we flat out suck....

i believe no coach could help us....i was entertained by Sheed for many years but now i just find it annoying....stop fuckin' dancing and whining and start playing some ball....we keep throwing bricks today and it was extremely painful watching Quentin Richardson just killing us....

your thoughts?

Their struggles could be a short term thing. They've made a major change to their core group post-training camp and are still without the services of McDyess who's expected to re-sign, so they're forced to make adjustments to their gameplan and build chemistry on the fly. I believe they're better than their current record indicates though winning now would seem to have been sacrificed for getting in on the free agent market in 2010.

:shake: :shake: Disappointing to see the Pistons lose to New York and Philly. I hope this is a short time thing, because we Pistons fans won't stand for this kind of shit. I don't beleive that there is an explainable reason as to why the Pistons lost the way they did-they were surely capable of winning those games. They have the roster to do it. :shake: :shake:
