Mon Nov 21, 2005 2:15 pm
People please vote him into the All-Star game.... please I already did a couple of times.
Mon Nov 21, 2005 3:16 pm
Chris Bosh is sounding like an up and coming star so far in this season
7 straight double-doubles is nice....
Good Luck Hawks for their win, lol.
And Cable: yeah, i agree, give him some more time...

Alright the raps are gonna play the Hawks tonight, and unless you are a raptor fan, this is probably going to be the most boring game you'll watch. But i'm excited and raptors better win. But from past experience, the struggling Joe Johnson will catch on fire tonight because any team the raps play, there seems to be a player who becomes unstoppable. Why? who knows, probably the raps got no defense and they are very kind. Anyways, i'm hoping for a 2nd win for the raps tonight. I'm praying actually.

i guess they playing to see who really deserves more pingpong balls for the lottery draft

I don't see why everyone is so high on Calderon. He's a one-trick pony. He can pass the ball, and that's really it. He doesn't shoot well (under 40% from the field), or from the arc (14%, 3/21), is respectible at the line (86% on only 29 attempts), grabs 2 boards per game, just over half a steal, and nearly 2 turnovers, while putting up 6 ppg...
... am I missing something here? People seem to be really high on a guy who can dish 6 dimes a game and not a whole heck of a lot else. Or are the Raptors really grasping that far to try and find upside??

Calderon can run the point and can lead the fast-break. And he's pretty good at inside scoring, the only problem is he doesn't take that many shots.

good work raptors, win #2

A 102-101 loss in the game billed as the Battle of the Basement, no two teams in NBA history had ever entered a game with just three combined wins after 30 games, was the latest heartbreaker in a season full of them for the Hawks, who lost for the fourth consecutive time and stand at 2-13.
"This hurts, man," a dejected Johnson said from his seat in the Hawks locker room after the game. "This hurts real bad. I don't really care what the numbers look like. When the game was on the line, we didn't come up with the key defensive stops and it cost us the game."
"We know we're a better team than they are," Johnson said. "And we let them play harder than we did early in the game. They've got those two active big guys, and they're young, and they just ate us alive. Like I said, this one is really hard to take because it's yet another one of these games that we should have been able to win, and we didn't."
Book Wednesday December 28th as the next big game vs. the Hawks

How many point guards in the league can you actually call point guards nowadays? Calderon brings the pass-first mentality that most teams need from a point guard. While his shot percentages aren't very good, it's mainly because he quite frankly doesn't take very many shots. This is a guy who just wants to get the whole team involved and would rather want a teamate to finish the play than himself. A 3:1 assist-to-turnover ratio is also quite impressive for a rookie, and it's the even better than Chris Paul's.
Sun Dec 04, 2005 8:18 am
I agree with Its_asdf; I find Calderon way more valuable than Rafter Alston, because this guy is a pass-first point guard, and that's extremely rare in the league. Since that's the case, this guy can only get better, and give him maybe 5 years or more, he can be a 10 apg guy in the league.
Sun Dec 04, 2005 8:30 am
IF the Raptors get better at shooting this season, then Calderon will get 10apg no problem.

Raptor's beat up Vince Carter team
Good Job on the first winning streak this year!
Sun Dec 04, 2005 2:03 pm
i guess we're not going after the first overall pick afterall... good job raptors, held rj and vince to 15 points a piece.
Sun Dec 04, 2005 2:13 pm
Woot, we beat New Jersey! I don't really want to bash Vince anymore, I'm not really the type of person to be bitter like that.
NBA champions here we come.
Sun Dec 04, 2005 2:51 pm
Naw, I'm still bitter. I'll be bitter until the Raptors get a great draft pick this year or next year, then I'll forgive Carter.
Sun Dec 04, 2005 6:14 pm
Toronto has a really bright future. The team could easily have 6 or 7 wins if it weren't for a few close decisions.

You're like 3:15. And that doesn't look like a 1st pick record to you?
Sun Dec 04, 2005 6:59 pm
Nets need to go back to their running game that they were so successful with back in the K-Mart days.
The style of game they are playing now sucks. If they keep it up they won't make the Playoffs.
Great win for the Raptors.
I hope that rumored Rose to NY deal doesn't happen.
Sun Dec 04, 2005 7:52 pm
Do you guys like Mike James for the Raptors
Sun Dec 04, 2005 10:05 pm
I like him a lot better than Rafer. James doesn't complain, he's efficient, and he can score. One interesting thought is, will the raps keep him after he's contract expires, which is this season i beleive, because that was one of the reasons the raps did the trade.
Mon Dec 05, 2005 1:43 am
As a Rockets fan, can you please return James back to us?

ok, maybe i said that wrong, i mean we dont have as large chance of getting first overall anymore because we have one more win than the hawks).
