Jaylen Brown seems to be a nice project. Only 20 and can put up stats all across the boxscore table.

But why. Al Horford is a solid rebounding center.

We need more than Al. First Horford is only averaging 5 RPG in the 3 games he's played, and his health is clearly a concern right now. Even if he's good for 7-8 RPG the remainder of his games played, it's still not enough. The team would be far more effective in general if Horford could be at PF comfortably with a true big who can grab a lot of boards and protect the paint at C.

I don't trust in Al staying healthy, right now we have no backup plan for him. We are not rebounding well when he's playing, and when he's out its even worse.

Btw, in Amir Johnsons first 10 games, he's averaging 4.6 RPG.... combined they don't even average 10...

Watching the Celtics last night pull the game out against Dallas was pretty exciting, considering it was looking bleak for most of the game. I.T came up HUGE in the 4th quarter. He is having an amazing season.

Not sure who else watched this game, but did you guys see Harrison Barnes in this one? Dallas was using him like Kobe Bryant, and I won't lie... he was pretty damn impressive. He has so many moves as a one on one player, he just knows how to use his jab steps/pump fakes/sweeps meanwhile maintaining his balance through his shots. I'm glad he's getting a chance with Dallas, his touches are amplified right now because Dirk is out, which is actually good for him in the long term as a player.

I watched the Clippers/Grizzlies game after, that Grizzlies team is super underrated. It looks like Z-BO lost a bunch of weight, and is moving a lot better this year. Marc Gasol is showing his range, bigs are having to go out and guard him around the three area, and Vince seems to have turned back the clock. Beating the Clippers with the Clippers at home is an awesome victory for them, I'd like to see them stay healthy and see what they can do. It was also nice to see the $150 million dollar man play such an amazing game. I can't not like Conley, he's a super likeable player/guy.

The Clippers still puzzle me a little, I am not sure if I can take them seriously. All the whining after every possession, the bonehead fouls that were happening, Blake Griffin mysteriously forgetting how to hit shots within 5 feet from the basket for short stretches, Chris Paul not asserting himself (9 points) when the team needed him to assert himself more on the scoring end. The team is obviously solid, but I can't tell at this point if they are a contender or pretender.

In regard to the Warriors game (I watched most of the second half), I was really bothered that Derozen didn't get the ball AT ALL down the stretch, when he had 34 points in the game. They continued to run play after play for Terrence Ross... I get it... he can shoot the three. But when they started this double screen action for Ross, they didn't need threes. Derozen should have had the ball in his hands, him and Lowry should have been working together. I didn't see GS doubling Derozen, and I didn't see any off ball screens set for him. I just don't get it.

Watching GS, I can tell the bench is getting a lot more comfortable. David West looked the most comfortable I've ever seen him. And as a whole, the Warriors just have so much offense, it's insane. However, not sure if anybody has been picking up on Klays body language, but he looks out of the game sometimes. He almost looks frustrated. Maybe it's just me because I'm watching him more off the ball and in between plays and in huddles, but he doesn't really look engaged.

i watched the clips-grizz game. grizz were the better team that game. Clips are still contenders. Paul looks like he is playing through an shoulder injury.

Kevin Love has 32 points (and counting) in the first quarter against the Blazers.

UPDATE: He finishes the first quarter with 34 points. The Blazers have 31.

Love ends up with 40. That's still a fine game, and that first quarter still stands as something special, but I thought we might see something really insane. Another triple-double for LeBron too, the 60th of his career.

Westbrook just put up 36 points, 12 rebounds and 18 assists in an overtime win over Denver.

Could he actually average a triple-double this season?

He's maintained those numbers further into the season than I would've thought possible. It's going to be interesting to see what the perception of him and the achievement is if he does it, or if he comes very close to doing it.

Russ followed it up with 17 points, 13 rebounds and 15 assists today against the Pistons. That makes 7 triple-doubles for the season so far.

@royceyoung
Westbrook needed one more rebound tonight to get his average to a triple-doubles: 31.1 points, 9.94 rebounds, 11.1 assists.

He is now tied at sixth all-time in career triple-doubles (44) with LeBron, despite having played 395 fewer games than him. Remarkable.

A day after LeBron went ahead of him again, Russ ties it back up. 27 points, 18 rebounds and 14 assists against the Knicks.

@royceyoung
Westbrook's got a run of three straight triple-doubles going, but he's an assist and two rebounds away from seven straight.

@royceyoung
Officially, through 19 games Russell Westbrook is averaging 30.9 points, 10.3 rebounds and 11.2 assists per game.

James Harden's rebounds have dropped off a little, but he's averaging 28.9 ppg, 7.5 rpg, and a league-leading 12.2 apg. A few players putting up big numbers a quarter of the way through the season.

Westbrook had 18 boards against the Knicks compared to Noah's 3. And Phil gave this dude $72mil for 4 years. No wonder my Bulls friends were laughing the day that deal went down.

It's embarrassing watching how soft these Knicks are.....a far cry from the 90s & 70s.

Westbrook now has one more triple-double this season than the rest of the NBA combined. 35 points, 14 rebounds and 11 assists in an overtime win against Washington.

@royceyoung
To recap the final five minutes and eight seconds of this one: Westbrook hits a 3 to send it to OT, then outscores the Wizards himself 14-10

He is gonna need back surgery at the end of the season with the way he is carrying this OKC team at the moment.

Huge nail-biter win for the Rockets last night against Golden State. The fact that they shot poorly from downtown was offset by an equal sub-par three-point performance by the Warriors. Impressive triple-double stat line for James Harden, but it's just so frustrating to watch him rack up those turnovers. There's hope at least, for a miraculous second round appearance this year.

Klay Thompson just broke his own record of 39 points in one half with 40 points (15-22 FG, 5-9 3PT), half of Golden State's 80.

Meanwhile, Al Horford blew a pretty easy game winning layup and Harden misses out on a quadruple double with 35 points, 8 assists, 8 rebounds and 10 turnovers :P

Klay finished with 60, in just three quarters. I'm sure many will rush to prematurely rank it among the all-time best performances (and call people haters if they dare disagree to any degree), but for now, let's call it what it is: a fantastic shooting performance.

I'm definitely a "hater" then :lol:

Definitely a fantastic shooting performance, but lets face it. Just like Love's 34 in the first quarter, hitting shots with 3 other guys on the floor who draws double teams isn't THAT impressive.

It's a good season for crazy numbers.

Westbrook managed his 6th triple-double in a row today against Atlanta. I hope he keeps this form going so the MVP voters don't just give it to Curry again.

There is no need to underrate the performance either. Getting into mathematical predictions, which is something a little tricky, as shown in the 34 points in the 1st and 40 at the end of the game by Love, that's 80 at the end of the game. I don't care who your teammates are, you gotta earn those 80. Matterfact, I am sure he ended up with one of the most efficient 60 point performances ever.
