Watching the Celtics last night pull the game out against Dallas was pretty exciting, considering it was looking bleak for most of the game. I.T came up HUGE in the 4th quarter. He is having an amazing season.
Not sure who else watched this game, but did you guys see Harrison Barnes in this one? Dallas was using him like Kobe Bryant, and I won't lie... he was pretty damn impressive. He has so many moves as a one on one player, he just knows how to use his jab steps/pump fakes/sweeps meanwhile maintaining his balance through his shots. I'm glad he's getting a chance with Dallas, his touches are amplified right now because Dirk is out, which is actually good for him in the long term as a player.
I watched the Clippers/Grizzlies game after, that Grizzlies team is super underrated. It looks like Z-BO lost a bunch of weight, and is moving a lot better this year. Marc Gasol is showing his range, bigs are having to go out and guard him around the three area, and Vince seems to have turned back the clock. Beating the Clippers with the Clippers at home is an awesome victory for them, I'd like to see them stay healthy and see what they can do. It was also nice to see the $150 million dollar man play such an amazing game. I can't not like Conley, he's a super likeable player/guy.
The Clippers still puzzle me a little, I am not sure if I can take them seriously. All the whining after every possession, the bonehead fouls that were happening, Blake Griffin mysteriously forgetting how to hit shots within 5 feet from the basket for short stretches, Chris Paul not asserting himself (9 points) when the team needed him to assert himself more on the scoring end. The team is obviously solid, but I can't tell at this point if they are a contender or pretender.
In regard to the Warriors game (I watched most of the second half), I was really bothered that Derozen didn't get the ball AT ALL down the stretch, when he had 34 points in the game. They continued to run play after play for Terrence Ross... I get it... he can shoot the three. But when they started this double screen action for Ross, they didn't need threes. Derozen should have had the ball in his hands, him and Lowry should have been working together. I didn't see GS doubling Derozen, and I didn't see any off ball screens set for him. I just don't get it.
Watching GS, I can tell the bench is getting a lot more comfortable. David West looked the most comfortable I've ever seen him. And as a whole, the Warriors just have so much offense, it's insane. However, not sure if anybody has been picking up on Klays body language, but he looks out of the game sometimes. He almost looks frustrated. Maybe it's just me because I'm watching him more off the ball and in between plays and in huddles, but he doesn't really look engaged.
