Damn Phoenix v Spurs was on Thursaday? Fuck i didn't see it there and missed it... Game 6 is on in 10 or so minutes though...

Sat May 19, 2007 10:25 pm

Looks like we'll be getting the Western Conference Finals this year; guess they're looking to alternate year-to-year. No disrespect intended to the Spurs or Jazz, but I was kind of hoping they'd show the Eastern Conference Finals, even with the Bulls out of the equation.

Sat May 19, 2007 10:29 pm

Well I hate the Spurs and the Jazz, so I would have also liked to see the East instead, but atleast we get to see some basketball so it is ok.

Reminder: Draft lottery on Wednesday ESPN, at either 10:30 am or 11:30 am, I can't remember which time. I can't wait to see who gets what. It would be great if Memphis and Boston both missed out on a top 2 pick lol. Go Blazers for No. 1 pick!

Sat May 19, 2007 10:32 pm

True, given the coverage of the Playoffs so far I'm glad they'll be showing the entire Conference Finals and Finals, no matter who's involved. All the same, I would've preferred the ECF. I won't get to watch the lottery live since I'll be at work but I'll be recording it and hoping for some good news when I get home.

Sat May 19, 2007 10:54 pm

Andrew, the Bulls get the Knick's pick again this year, right? So you would be hoping for something good. I also dont get to see it live, because of school but I will record it and watch it when i get home. I have been for ages to see this year's lottery.

Sat May 19, 2007 10:56 pm

That's right. I'm not sure who to thank for that; Pax for making such a shrewd deal or Isiah for agreeing to it and giving up the pick.

Sun May 20, 2007 8:51 am

I'm glad they're showing the WCF, better than seeing Lebron & the boring Cavs stink it up against a well-oiled Pistons' team....

although thinking about it, we haven't really seen any Eastern Conference playoff games throughout the playoffs....

Sun May 20, 2007 11:20 am

just the one Det-Orl game if i remember correct.

Sun May 20, 2007 11:26 am

And Detroit-Chicago game 3

Sun May 20, 2007 11:30 am

touche!

so we got 3 SAS games, and we'll get at least another 4 consecutivley!

Sun May 20, 2007 11:36 am

i would of preferred some ECF finals too... I wanna see how the Cavs go against the Pistons... Im sick of the Spurs :P I saw we get Game 1, 2 and 3 this week... Wednesday, Friday and Sunday...

Sun May 20, 2007 1:03 pm

Dammit why did they have to have a game on Wednesday?
Im going to miss it due to State of Origin.. ah ill just tape it i guess

Is a potential Spurs rout of the Jazz really preferable though? I can't imagine that series is going to be pretty and as Matt said, we've just had three straight games from a series involving the Spurs and with all due respect to the Jazz it's likely we'll see them for two more playoff series yet. I'd even settle for alternating games and missing a couple of contests from each series for the added variety. Even if the Pistons/Cavs series outlasts the Spurs/Jazz series and they picked up the remaining games that'd be something, though I doubt they would.

Sun May 20, 2007 11:18 pm

Rotating between the games would be logical Andrew. Surely by now you realise that whoever programs ESPN in Australia is retarded.

On that note, I actually like watching Spurs play, and would love to see Jazz (mainly Boozer and Kirilenko) play, so this should be good!

Sun May 20, 2007 11:22 pm

We've only had one Utah game this year (pulls figure from arse), so i'm content with seeing more of them.

The WCFs could be something of an anticlimax after the terrific Spurs/Suns series. So while i really hope the Jazz can put up a fight, i think the Spurs are going to man-handle them.

True, it's a notion that's probably lost on producers that overestimate the popularity of Scrabble championships but I thought I'd throw it out there anyway. I don't mind watching the Spurs either but like most people if I can't watch my favourite team I'd rather see variety, and ESPN Australia has felt like the San Antonio Spurs Channel at times.

There was only that one which funnily enough was against the Spurs. As I said I don't hate watching the Spurs play and we haven't seen much of the Jazz the last few years but given that the Spurs are likely to advance it'll basically mean ESPN Australia's 2007 Playoffs coverage has been the San Antonio Spurs' March to the Finals (and possibly the title). That's great for Spurs fans of course but it sucks for anyone who wants variety.

I'm sure I speak for most of us (if not all of us) when I say I wish Fox Sports continued their NBA coverage through the postseason. I had envisioned the return of the NBA to Fox Sports would result in us getting at least four games per week in the Playoffs as we were in the regular season as well as both Conference Finals series in their entirety. Sadly, that wasn't to be.

Well duh, why show playoff basketball when there is the start of the ever-so-interesing baseball season to be shown! Not to mention scrabble, soccer, i think we had dominos at one stage, and spelling bees!

That goes for Fox sports too... Fuck baseball, soccer and to a lesser extent rugby and golf... Its the playoffs ffs...

LMFAO
I dont know why that was so funny, but shit... it was!

They showed Game 1 of the Spurs/Jazz series this morning, it was an afternoon game so I only happened to catch the final three minutes or so by chance when I was getting ready for work this morning. There wasn't anything about it in the on-screen/online guide, which hasn't been updated and isn't showing a replay this evening. In fact, some of the upcoming scheduled games are WCF games while others could only be ECF games, so who knows what they're doing.

Mon May 21, 2007 7:07 pm

those bastards.....had i know i would have watched it. Nothing in the guide when i checked before going to bed.

Tue May 22, 2007 1:26 pm

Looks like they've updated the scheduled games on the Foxtel website to represent the listed times for the first four games of the WCF.

Tue May 22, 2007 1:28 pm

Do we actually get the draft lottery on foxtel? If so, when is it?

Tue May 22, 2007 1:33 pm

Tomorrow at 10:30 AM according to the guide.

Tue May 22, 2007 1:38 pm

Cheers Andrew, and apologies for not doing my own research. (Y)

Is that just before the Spurs/Jazz game?

Tue May 22, 2007 1:39 pm

That's right. Apparently there'll be an hour long NBA Shootaround beginning at 9:30 followed by the lottery and then Spurs/Jazz beginning at 11:00.

Tue May 22, 2007 5:38 pm

This year it won't be shown at halftime? If it isn't, I hope I can find a way to watch.
