^ Hahaha. Good on ya artest, play to jordan's competitive side. How can he turn that down?
Although you'd want a better player than Artest. He sucks these days. An Jordan would beat artest with artest's eyes open, let alone closed.

Some player should challenge david stern to a game of 1-on-1. Whoever wins, wins the lockout.

Technically, he could suspend said player and win by default. We'll need a Plan B.

DeShawn Stevenson on Billy Hunter:

Stevenson thinks the owners have been slow to recognize how much the players have already conceded in negotiations, but he also points blame at someone else: Billy Hunter, executive director of the players’ former union.

“I felt like we should have decertified in July,” Stevenson said. “I feel like Billy Hunter is doing a horrible job because basically now [the owners] know our hand. The media knows our hand. The owners know our hand.”

Possibly, but they're cutting it close. An agreement would have to be reached by the weekend for that to be a possibility. The two sides are meeting, but like Nick I'm not getting my hopes up.

Opening Day on XMas would be amazing, a miracle, but there's a 5-10 % chance of it happening.

It'd make a heartwarming Christmas special. Too many grinches involved, though.

For any HIMYM fans around these parts, yes, that doubles as a reference.

Owners will vote it through with a majority of say 16-13, maybe 15-12 at best. I think at least 60% of players will vote for it. All the Mavs players want to get back on court & defend title, Heat want to win now, same with Spurs & Lakers. You might have guys like Pierce, Garnett & others voting against it, but the Josh Childress', Rashard Lewis', Gilbert Arenas' & Steve Blake's of the World want their overpriced contracts to keep coming in

The players who won't agree at the deal are dumb asses.

Every player is well within their rights to vote against a 12% decrease in their pay and other restrictions on their playing futures.

Exactly. But more will vote for the season to begin now I believe. The owners should do the same. 16-13 or 15-12 sounds weak but if that's what it is in reality then fine as long as we get a season.

They have a deal in principle. That's still the most promising news of the last few months, at least it seems like the lockout is over. Or as close to it as we've come so far. Fingers crossed.
