From the game recap:
The Timberwolves were outscored 50-18 in the paint, and committed 16 turnovers to Chicago's nine.
Now that's embarassing. Where's Riot to defend his beloved T'wolves?

Hinrich is certainly one of the most underrated players around. He's got all the necessary psychical skills, at 6'4 (with shoes) and 200 pounds can defend SGs and brings you everything you need from the PG spot - shooting, distributing and D. And am I the only one who noticed that Gordon improved his playmaking ability lately?
Who will the Bulls draft? The logical choice would be Aldridge, but I wouldn't count Gay or Morrison out. Nocioni is turning into a solid role player off the bench and Deng is still young, but they'll never be the players Gay and Morrison will turn into. With their own pick they'll probably draft Brewer and - if he's not on the board - Carney. Someone to provide size and athleticism in the backcourt. Damn, why did they have to sign Chandler to that huge contract? He's clearly just a solid role player. Injury prone role player, I might add.

I'd complain about Chandler and I'm sure Nick would too, but it's the same thing all the time. It's become easier to just say "Chandler" and shake your head. We even have the emoticons in the Forum for it.

Ah. Now you know how e feel about Adonal.
Thu Mar 02, 2006 10:42 am
That one was always easy to imagine. I think most people cringed at that one, Warriors fan or not.

As long as Foyles and Blounts of this world get their uneasrned due, we can always dream that we could do better ourselves as GM's. It's a plot to keep th einterest, I tell you.
Thu Mar 02, 2006 10:51 am
Reminds me of the terrible GM summit article Bill Simmons did last week.

Disappointing loss to Cleveland and a fortunate victory against the Knicks. Also read some comments Skiles made recently about playing favourites. Skiles maintained that he didn't and said something about Ben Gordon getting more leeway than anyone. Which is weird, since he tends to yank him the moment he makes a mistake while Hinrich and Duhon seem to remain on the floor through poor play.
Sat Mar 04, 2006 5:58 pm
I can't wait for the Bulls to get their two first round picks.
Sat Mar 04, 2006 6:13 pm
Imagine if they get Aldridge AND Gay. Or Bargnani AND Morrison. With Nocioni, Hinrich and Songaila on the court, they could run the all-token-white-guy lineup.
Mon Mar 06, 2006 5:01 am
Fuck Aldridge, Gay, Morrison etc... here's the real saviour....
Press Release - The Chicago Bulls today signed Luke Schenscher of the NBDL to a 10-day contract. Schenscher, a 7-1, 265-pound center, will be with the Bulls tonight when they visit the Cleveland Cavaliers at Quicken Loans Arena at 6:30 P.M. CT.
Schenscher joins Chicago from the Fort Worth Flyers of the D-League, where he has averaged 8.2 ppg, 6.1 rpg, 1.42 bpg and 1.2 apg in 36 appearances (34 starts). He has shot .530 from the floor and .607 from the free throw line.

awesome

First Longley, then Anstey and now Schenscher...Bogut can't be far behind.

I went to the Minny game this past week. I must say that i'm very disappointed with the Bulls fans there. the loudest the crowd got was during fricking timeouts- during those the stupid races where you win a free bottle of water or some other bullshit if the donut or hinkley grey truck wins the race
kirk hinrich probably had his best game in the nba against minny. he consistently was hitting his outside shot AND driving to the basket. yet the only time the crowd was getting loud for him was when they were cheering for his 10th assist, which didn't happen

Nocioni with a career high 29 in the first win over New Jersey in ages, breaking a streak of 8 losses I believe. Still not a great position to be in since making the playoffs relies on one of the lower seeds in the East slumping but it's still doable.

I don't post in here enough. I read it all the time, but never post. I wanted to reply to the lack of size on the Bulls. I don't mind Chandler. I don't think we can ever think he'll be an offensive force, but if he can be smarter and be our defense and rebounding big man, that'll work. Though, we did trade Elton Brand for him. Then I wouldn't have to say what I'm about to say... But yeah, we do need to get a post presence in order to win. The main reason Gordon can't score as much is b/c there is no scoring big man, i'm convinced.
But we can't go trading away talant for it. I love Deng and his future the most, Heinrich, Duhon, Gordon, Nocioni. What I don't think we should do is shell out money for Big Ben Wallace. We need an OFFENSIVE post presence. That he is not. Personally, I hope we can get Morrison. I like him and I think he'd fit. If we do have another lottery pick, let's try for someone strong with even somewhat of a post game. I just hope we don't use it on Sheldon Williams.

That's the beauty of this upcoming offseason. Chicago should be able to add someone significant via free agency or the draft (or maybe even both), thus improving the roster without even breaking up the current core. Though depending on what's on the table, I'd say that will still be an option Paxson will consider.
Wed Mar 08, 2006 5:49 pm
it's almost scary to think that chicago has this much talent on their team and still have the money to get more good FAs this offseason. On the other hand, the owner will be stressed in a few years when all the contracts expire. Reminds me of the Clippers a few years back. They had Brand, Odom, QRich, Andre Miller, Maggette and a few more. But chicago is winning more.
Wed Mar 08, 2006 7:23 pm
With all that talents it reminds me of Boston Celtics with all the HOF ... i'm not implying anything just saying....
Thu Mar 09, 2006 5:44 am
That's just it though. We have to keep some of these players in the next couple years. So putting too much money into FA might not be the best idea. Look at the Pistons. Part of the reason they can be so good is b/c they know each other. They've been together and can play off each other so well. Making too many changes can be deadly.
Then again, they made those changes too. Stackhouse for Rip, getting Chauncey, etc. Well, I guess it will be interesting to see where we go from here.
Thu Mar 09, 2006 10:25 am
They've got a fair bit to spend though, perhaps enough to grab a good player and/or a couple of decent ones (Al Harrington, Joel Przybilla and Nazr Mohammed are names that have been thrown around in the past) and then still be in a good position to retain their free agents in a couple of year's time.
Thu Mar 09, 2006 11:38 am
That's true Andrew and I like your ideas and some of those names.
In response to the person who somewhat compared the Bulls/ talent to the Clippers, the difference is that team had too many good players and no balance, we have lots of talent that seems to fit together. And I don't think we have any players who had drug/party problems like Odom.

I could be wrong.
I guess where I'm coming from is I don't think we needed or need to trade for or sign a huge superstar. I personally think Deng can and will be a star player soon. He left as a freshman so he needs some time, but I think he's the star of this team for years to come. I love Gordon, Heinrich, etc and they are good too. But I think this guy will be the man in a couple years.
Thu Mar 09, 2006 11:51 am
I like the current group too and I'd rather not break them up just yet without good reason, so I'm happy the offseason situation will allow them to do just that while presenting an opportunity to improve as well.
Gordon's quickly become my new favourite active player, I'm really glad he's been able to keep the starting job as it's obvious what he can do given a chance and some more consistent minutes. When he had a couple of off games after starting I had fears Skiles would bury him again but fortunately that hasn't been the case...give or take the odd game with less than 30 minutes despite not being in foul trouble or committing many turnovers.
Fri Mar 10, 2006 6:29 pm
The Bulls drafting strategy might have taken a hit...
Aldridge says emphatically, "I'm coming back."
"The NBA is not a concern right now," said Aldridge, who last month said that he sees himself as a four-year player at Texas.
Also weakens this draft significantly.
Sat Mar 11, 2006 3:44 am
They should take one of the two euro bigs, Splitter or Barg.
However they'll probably just take another Dukie.
Sat Mar 11, 2006 3:05 pm
Couple more losses. Perhaps not all Bulls fans would agree with me, but I'm still hoping they'll make the postseason this year, even if I'm not confident of it happening right now. No matter what happens they'll have a high lottery pick courtesy of Isiah. I'd rather see them develop a fighting/winning attitude than tank for the future.
