Yup it is live radio, but Chuck's interview with him is now done. He basically asked him some questiosn regarding the article and Al Strachan said that the title of the article was written by an editor or someone else.

Chuck askes him if he has ever been to a basketball game and Strachan respodned with a no. Then Strachan was asked what it woudl take to get him to watch a basketball game (in ACC) and he said something like a nuclear bomb. (Strachan is a d***).

Also, after the interview, Chuck talked to CEO or someone named Greg of MLSE, and he said that the Raptors have changed the center logo from the dinosaur to the claw, but the dinosaur is still the primary logo.

Then he has no right to talk. If he doesn't have a clue about the sport, he might as well just stop making some ignorant articles about the damn thing.

I used to love hockey, but I started getting away from that. Kids these day, little ones, and teenagers, seem to play basketball a lot ore than hockey. I hardly ever see anybody playing street hockey. I used to play street hockey almsot 3-4 times a week for hours.

The sad thing is, half a Raptors arena makes a lot more noise than a full Leafs arena. Fact.

What's the matter with you guys? Just because Al Strachan dissed the Raptors and basketball in general doesn't mean it's ok for you guys to pull a Strachan and say the same thing about hockey

Hockey's our national sport, our pride as a country, it became our heritage, and we've produced so many hall of famers and future hall of famers, that it's not even funny. Give hockey some respect.

I don't play hockey, I don't watch hockey, I sometimes follow hockey and I enjoyed playing street hockey when I was younger, but that doesn't mean "Canada's going nowhere" with hockey. We should be tolerant with whatever sport people enjoy playing, supporting, watching, following, whatever.

I'm not a huge hockey follower either, in fact, I think it's one of the most boring things to ever grace the planet, but I do think that its great for Canada to have a national sport that so many people take pride in.

It does become irritating when you see guys like this who know practically nothing about the sport suddenly say that the team needs to be sold, that's all I'm trying to say.

Hockey Lacross and Curling!! A canadian did invent basketball. . so I don't see why hockey heads hate basketball. It should be respected here.

I also like hockey and used to play hockey all the time, but Basketball is IN right now

^I guess that's the reason why the Toronto Rock (an interesting choice for a team name by the way), won so many titles and are always one of the best teams in the league.

Well lacrosse is basically hockey slowed down to the pace of half court basketball.
yeah and plus they are getting rid of hockey night in canada thing with the don cherry guy

Way to pull an Al Strachan, fool. Hockey Night in Canada is probably the most watched Canadian television show, and has only grown in popularity over its 54 year history. It's to the point now that several stations are bidding over the rights for it, with Bell Globe Media offering a ten year, $1.4 billion agreement.
so now basketball is gonna completely take over.

Well the sport that saw the biggest increase during the hockey strike was poker, so don't get your hopes up.
Hockey's our national sport, our pride as a country, it became our heritage, and we've produced so many hall of famers and future hall of famers, that it's not even funny. Give hockey some respect.

Well said. Both sports have garnered the respect of the public, but we're still a country that relates to hockey more than basketball. We're still prodominently white suburbanites, and we're well behaved alcoholics. Where as basketball still relates more to black, inner city vigilantes. Unless the demographics drastically change, hockey, baseball and football will still draw more interest than basketball. Especially when there's only one team, and only 2 recognizeable players.

You're still the voice of reason my friend, yet you often fall on deaf (jerry) ears. Right again though. Picking a favourite sport is like picking a favourite movie. Everyones taste is different, and if someone has their reasons, you can't judge them on their instincts. It's fine if you don't like a sport, in this case hockey, but bashing it is just a pathetic attempt to make yourself look cool and make fun of Strachan.
It does become irritating when you see guys like this who know practically nothing about the sport suddenly say that the team needs to be sold, that's all I'm trying to say.

But again, just consider the source. Think about where the comment is coming from and you'd realize right away that there is no merit to it, and would cease to be irritated.
I don't see why hockey heads hate basketball.

Well as a self-proclaimed hockey head, I can say that most don't hate the sport, just more what it represents, much like the way rockers don't like what rap represents. Basketball has become a lot of glitz and glamour with little substance. It's no longer a team based/hard work rewarding sport, but is now an individual/talent based league. There are exceptions, but it seems as if they either go unnoticed or simply are no longer in demand. Fans like seeing Dwayne Wade/LeBron James/Kobe/etc., drive through 5 defenders/pilons and dunk over a half assed block attempt while drawing a foul, and then jumping around screaming. And all throughout, with a look of "Fuck you all, I'm the greatest" look on their face. Fans and players like that are ruining the game. I can't tell you how many times a game I watch a bad rotation, a player refuse to contest a jump shot or a player simply stick his arm out as an attempt to defend a driving opponent and I cringe or simply question why I still watch the game. It happens nearly every time down the floor. At least on player does it, just watch. That's what bugs me, and many other "hockey heads" about basketball, and the culture of fans it has spawned. But I still like the Raptors. (Y)
Lacrosse is the dumbest sport I've seen in my entire life.

I dunno, ever played frolf?
