all he has to do is win Finals MVP by the time he should have graduated college and he's hot on Duncan's trail

You're saying he's ripped just because of his arms? Look at the pic, he's shaking hands. For all we know those two could be pressing hard on each other's hands or what some might call a manly handshake.

i don't think he's a good enough rebounder at this time to get 10 a game. Besides he mostly plays a mid-range type of game and Dwight Howard, the leagues best rebounder, is on his team. Any less than 7 in a starting role would be crap. 10 points as a starter would be too low too.

Yeah, he averaged almost 8 points per game in 20 minutes after 2 years of not playing and didn't have any plays called for him. 12-15 points per game as a starter (30mpg) is entirely possible.

Darko against Greece: 17 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks, Darko is MVP of the game, Serbia wins (79-75).

Look at those arms.. I wonder if he'll balance it out though, because his legs look quite skinny.

I don't know, his calves look bigger too. And it's funny how these jerseys make look one fatter/bigger with showing no shoulders.

Image

Edit: I think he could very well be thicker than Duncan. And I'm glad to see him rebounding well. 10+ rebounds in international games is nothing to be ashame of. Not to mention that he expanded his range out to the 3pt line. I would take him over Bargnani anytime.

yeah he looks nicely tanked up now. Obviously not the same skinny kid he was before. I wonder how much he's improved his lower body. Those big arms won't help him from getting pushed around in the post unless he's got good lower body strength.

EDIT: that turkish guy kind of looks like a darker Corliss Williamson

Darko didn't play in a game against Canada, probably because the coach wanted to rest him.

he expanded his range out to the 3pt line

Exactly, but I didn't see that coming though. He was shooting 2/3 agains Italy, and it was a plesent surprise for me. Not to mention that he dwas dominant on rebounds and blocks.

Impossible is nothing... wait, isn't that Garnett and TMac... yeah, he is not going to get MVP, but it's always a possibility (especially with the guys picking it). He could well get MIP though which would be cool.

I meant MVP of that particular game, although I wouldn't be suprised to see him winning MVP of the World Championships and be voted for MIP next year.

Darko against China:
10 pts 4/6 2FG 0/1 3FG 2/2 FT 5 Reb 5 Ast 1 TO 1 Steal 3 Blocks. Nice, especially those assist numbers.

. This is international basketball, you don't hog the ball all the time. 3 blocks and 5 assists is pretty darn good, not to mention that he shot the ball at high percentage and that they won (77:66).

He played 27 minutes.

Well, after winning first 6 friendly games S&M finally lost. Spain kicked their asses 89:62. Still, Darko won the duel with Pau Gasol. He had 19 points, while Pau had 15. Sorry, i couldn't get any more stats, just the high-scorers. Well, can't wait 'till 19.8

I think Gasol has a slight edge there, considering his team won by a margin of almost 30 points .

Yeah I know, I just can't stand Gasol and really like Darko's improvement :) But it's becoming a tradition that S&M always suck asses against Spain..They just can't beat them so I'm not really worrying (until they meet again :x ).. Btw, could someone get the stats from that game. I'm curious about his rebounding and shotblocking :?:

EDIT: Well, besides 19 points, darko had 9 rebounds (don't know about assists or blocked shots). He also hit 2 three-pointers. Sweet

well axare no i couldn't because im not 7'0 and 270.. im 6'1 and 170 so thats about a foots difference in height and a 100lb difference in weight... but i know id be using that body down on the low post if i was that big.... i do it now to guys who are bigger and stronger than me and i win em sometimes... most guys with big ass bodies that play at the court play like mini-shaq... try to plow em through :D
