Well well these series proves that defense wins championships!!

And as I see it the C's deserve it, they have overcomed so much adversity and yet they came out with flying colors!!

Also Rajon rondo is the future of this celtics franchise after the big 3 are done I hope he improves more!!

By the way I can see that it's possible that the c's could win it again next year or next next year!! who knows

Finally the big three have done it!!

I only saw the part when Bill Russell and KG are celebrating on the court.

Don't worry, i'm sure there are a lot of re-runs out there. Just don't watch the ones on Local, for sure, you'll just be disappointed...

it was also the series that proved most people wrong including myself. boston obviously had more than big 3 or maybe the big 3 made other role players better, but the important fact is that boston's role players outplayed laker's role players. at times, it almost seemed, the role players of boston alone could outplay whole lakers team.

leon powe seems to have room to grow and pj brown still seems to be effective. posey also did more than his part and it was almost like a dejavu from his days with shaq and wade. there's a rumour that posey might end up in LA though since his contract is expiring. if it happens, it sure will be interesting to see if he can be the last piece of puzzle for kobe's championship mvp chase.

nothing will even out that loss unless we run off 19 straight this season

if anything this series showed how much the lakers missed bynum down low and how kobe still hasn't matured into the player we hoped...... he's growing up but still needs to learn how to lead teammates and control his emotions.....

Yeah, saw that as well. First NBA Finals, first NBA championship after so many years with Minny, this just shows how long KG waited for this.

And KG saying to Russell, "I got my own" is classic...priceless...

Even though I hate Boston with a passion, I can't hate on KG. He waited a long time for this - I actually clapped for the brotha. He's such a team player, and I love the respect and admiration he's shown towards the dudes who came before him. Those conversations with Russ are classic.

Old skool Celtic basketball - defense, defense, defense, and sharing the ball on offense.

Rajon Rondo......damn.

Cool game, I'm just glad the Lakers got hammered and the Big 3 finally got what each of them deserved. Great job Boston (Y)
KG finally woke up offensively and Allen was unstoppable behind the 3pt line, but I agree that Pierce deserves the MVP title overall.
I just wish we could have seen Vujacic cry like the little bitch that he is.

That's not the whole story though. I think Boston deserves a lot of credit for the job they did on him defensively, particularly Pierce and Posey. They did a good job limiting his driving opportunities while forcing him to take some difficult shots, particularly in Game 6. That's not to say his leadership abilities cannot be questioned but the disappearance of Odom and Gasol for example is mostly their own fault.

I am soooooo happy for Ticket right now. He has earned this ring and it's about time he got his. The best part (besides him saying "This is for 'Sota") was when he hugged Bill Russell and told him "I got one of my own" and "Are you proud of me?". That was an awesome sight to see.

For 13 seasons, I knew Garnett was a champion. We witnessed it for 12 years here in Minnesota. He played every game like it was a championship game. After last night, he has his ring to finally prove he is a champion.

Knowing Kevin he won't stop at just one. He's going to come back next year hungry for another. That's for another time, though. I hope he enjoys the moment with his friends, family and teammates. I hope in the mist of the celebration he takes a second to remember the times he had in Minnesota. I hope he knows that all of us up here are celebrating with him. I'm a Timberwolves fan, but when I was watching the Celtics game I was rooting for them like it was the Timberwolves. I was celebrating as if WE won the championship...and in a way, we did.

THANK YOU, KEVIN! Congrats on the accomplishment!

 Last quarter was street basketball. The Celtics did whatever they want.
As someone said, watching Garnett crying was very moving.
Very happy for him.
Good to be a "Kobe hater" in moments like this one. :)

...Talking about the Lakers what was the problem with Radmanovic? Looked like he didn't want to play (N)

Maybe i won't be able to see the Lakers playing for the title again.. I feel really horibble now... So times to woke up in 4.00am to watch the favorite team and now.. :shake: Feel really deprresed

But the boston showed that they deserved the title.. They played so welll this game.. So dominating.. It is really good to be a C' now..

But I sow some comments with " lakers<form this team, form that teaM"
Guy maybe Lakers loose the finals but no right to compare them with some other teams just becoz the made 4-2 and the other team 4-3.. There is noting similar between serries and serries.. Maybe Boston are the best but still Lakers are in second place.. :!:

GazuN,

Dude I feel your pain, there is nothing worse than coming close to a championship only to see it ripped away. (Boston fans know what I'm talking about, Giants v. Pats) Congrats to Boston on a great season, if we were destined to lose it was good to see KG, Ray Ray and Pierce get their first championship. Hopefully this will be the first of many good series between the C's and Lakers in the future. Se you next season!!!

Thu Jun 19, 2008 2:50 am

I know what you're talking about and you Lakers fans deserve that feeling. Just look at what you fuckers did in 2001.

Seriously though, I'm unbelievably happy that Garnett, Pierce and Allen finally got their rings. It was about damn time, especially for KG and The Truth.

That was classic to watch. They really contained the Lakers' offense and it was beautiful to watch their dominance.

You're always sleeping during the Finals  I take it you're still an university student.

Thu Jun 19, 2008 4:07 am

im glad the Celtic won cuz they want it more then the Lakers
cuz they traded mostly all their roster just to get two superstar
that never made the NBA Final on their first team...

but next season the Laker is gonna come back cuz they alway do and u can't argue wit that...

Thu Jun 19, 2008 4:10 am

Boston wins a title 22 years after they drafted Len Bias. I guess the curse is over.

Man in 2001 i didn't know what is B-Ball yet  But now when I watched the serries already - game 1 and 3.. I was really shocked form the talent of Iverson... He was so good in the first game and i really liked the way he's playing.. You know after Kobe, AI and T-Mac are my favourite players.. So really I understand what was in you head after loosing this finals with such a Amazing start..

But you know.. Everyone have his own team.. It isn't really nice to say "Lakers fans deserve that feeling" after you have the same feeling befor 7 years.. Right? :?

Thu Jun 19, 2008 4:27 am

Rondo had as much offensive rebounds as the entire Laker team. Totally out rebounded. Also the Celtics had 18 steals off Lakers' 19 turnovers.

Great game. The Big Three finally got their rings. So did most of their bench and other starters.

Miraculous turnaround by the Celtics. Well done, Danny Ainge and Doc Rivers.

Posey already had 1, and Cassell had 2.

Wonder if Cassell will retire. Not everyone Wins a championship in their first, and last season.

...take it you're still an university student.

That "an" in front of university really bothers me and I don't know why. I'm used to always saying "a university student". Guess I'm just an illiterate hillbilly that lives in the igloos of Canada.

Anyway... I'm not a major fan of either team, (although I preferred the Lakers to win the series, not going to lie there), so I just sort of got up and left after the third quarter when the Lakers were getting pooped on.

Bingo. Its summer courses now, but my sleeping schedule is beyond recovery.

Thu Jun 19, 2008 9:02 am

To think, all it took were the acquistions of KG and Ray-Ray to go from a 20 win team to the NBA Champs. What a turnaround.
I keep hearing stuff about KG wanting to go back to 'Sota, since he finally got his ring. It's probably bullshit, but who knows?
