I would've thought that the Blazers would be falling over themselves to get Roy re-signed long term. If the situation with Gordon in Chicago proves nothing else, it's that a player isn't going to show loyalty to a team that won't extend him the same courtesy. I suppose teams have to keep the luxury tax in mind and Portland has a few players they're no doubt going to try and re-sign to large extensions in the next few years, but it's playing a dangerous game to lowball Roy and risk driving a wedge between him and the front office, especially if he ends up becoming an unrestricted free agent as Gordon did.

I'm just shocked by it. It's really worrying actually as a big Brandon Roy fan. I guess I'm starting to understand in a small way what you have been through Andrew with the Ben Gordon situation.

All that being said, I can understand lowballing LaMarcus Aldridge. He's a soft-ish jump shooting big man. I wouldn't want to give him anymore than a 5 year, $50 million contract (on par with Bargnani's). Although apparently LMA is going to want max contract.

Roy yes, Aldridge no. Aldridge is replaceable if needs be. Even if it's Millsap that does it.

Dunno about the Roy thing, but I don't see him leaving, thats for sure. The Millsap signing works twofold. Utah accepts, and it forces them to make the Boozer trade. Utah declines, and they will likely trade LMA for a good PG.

Offseason was a disappointment and the fruits of KP's 2009 labors (or lack thereof) were put on display as the Blazers lost to a sloppy Denver Nuggets. I still expect Oden to improve this year, but him missing those free throws when they were down 1 was just heartbreaking. LMA was also terrible. And the game was against our biggest division rival too...

its only two games and I'm probably looking to much into the first 2 games of the season. I still expect 55-60 wins.

Coming along nicely now... did go on a 6 game win streak to go to 8-3 and now at 8-4 after an OT loss to the OUTSTANDING Atlanta Hawks. Not a bad first dozen games of the season.

Blazers would have won handily if not for injuries, fatigue and Nate being so adamant about Blake being the clutch PG. Hawks are good (thanks almost entirely to Josh Smith's breakout season) but I still think they are only the 4th best team in the East.

Relieved to see them turn it around. Oden has been very good this year.

Beat the Pistons today by 6 after being up by 20 at 3 qtr time! Oh well a win is a win..

Portland are a great team, I love Roy. Absolutely no reason why they can't make it to the play-offs next year, unless they're plagued by injury. Here's hoping that Oden also steps up to the standards set by his overall #1 pick this year, so far he's looking pretty good.

1) Batum + Webster/Outlaw + Przybilla + 1st round pick in exchange for Ginobili + Ratliff (my favorite)
2) Webster + Przybilla + Pendergraph in exchange for Marion + Matt Carroll (I think I'm killing Dallas here)
3) Steve Blake + Batum in exchange for Maxiell (I like this one too)
4) Blake + Batum in exchange for Turiaf + Morrow (I'm not sure here)
5) Blake + Webster + Przybilla in exchange for Michael Redd (not sure here either)
6) Blake + Travis Outlaw in exchange for Jason Richardson (liking this one)

Okay, get ready. I'm about to start killing (your horrible horrible trade ideas)

1. No. I hate Manu, you lose the best backup Center in the league by far, and you acquire a guy who plays the same position as your biggest star.
2. No. Don't know why Dallas would make the deal, seeing as how they just got him, but they upgrade at the 5, and shore up their backcourt depth. Marion seems like a terrible fit (and contract) for a young up-and-coming team though.
3. Maybe. The only decent trade of the bunch. Here you are getting ripped off a bit however. Blake, like Przybilla, is the perfect backup at his position, while Batum is a good defender with tremendous upside. Maxiell would be a good backup PF, but he isn't worth your offer. Maybe Webster and a pick for him?
4. No. If you don't like it, then why did you post it? Not sure why you are so adamant about dealing Blake, he's a keeper. Turiaf is a decent backup big man, but not worth what you give up. Morrow would never play with Rudy in the lineup.
5. No. Again, you don't need a shooting guard. Does Brandon Roy not exist in your game or something?
6. YOU DON'T NEED A BLOODY SHOOTING GUARD!

Why don't you just use their current roster? It is pretty stacked. At 13-5, the team is underachieving!

If I were doing a Blazers' dynasty then the last guys I'd be trading would be Pryz-bizz & Blake. Behind Brandon Roy & along with Rudy, they're probably my favourite Blazers' players.

You seem to want a starting SF but are after SG's. As Lamrock said, Brandon Roy is your man. Plus Rudy is a killer off the bench.

If it were me trading, I'd probably deal Webster, Bayless & possibly Outlaw (if I had to) to upgrade backup PF & starting SF positions. I'd probably want a Trevor Ariza/Shane Battier starting SF & a Landry/Maxiell/Brandon Bass/Blair at backup PF. Finally, I probably would prefer a PG like Hinrich over Andre Miller. Don't care if I have Batum or not since I now got Ariza, so let's get my man Jared Dudley in as a nice backup SF who's happy with that role long term.

X's Blazers' Roster

C- Oden/Pryz-bizz (double headed centre combo)
PF- Aldridge/Blair (when LaMarcus is soft, Blair brings in some energy & boards)
SF- Ariza/Dudley (these guys might not look like much but they'll win you playoff games)
SG- Roy/Rudy (multi-talented duo)
PG- Hinrich/Blake (obviously you can start Blake if it helps the rotation. Since Roy handles the rock, these guys are secondary ballhandlers & there to hit open shots)

Obviously I'd fill insurance for final 5 roster spots (maybe Mills, Pendergraph, Cunningham, Sean Marks & maybe Marcus Thornton).

Might not be the best roster that can be made for Blazers but I like it & it would be fun. Maybe time for me to start a Blazers' Association

Martell Webster is god.... Why you would want to trade him is beyond me. Other than shopping Blake or Outlaw for a solid offensive scorer off the bench, I don't really see any moves that would actually benefit the Blazers.

I like Martell Webster, but he is a total bust. I think the Roy at PG idea is stupid, but since you are really going for it, do the Morrow+Turiaf deal since you already have Rudy. Really like The X's alternate offseason

This is the lineup I'm trying to achieve. I really like it. When Roy goes to rest, there goes Bayless, then when Ginobili/Redd/J-Rich need rest, there goes Roy, when Aldridge needs rest, Odom can go there, enter Maxiell, all can play more than 1 position...

Starting 5: Roy - Ginobili/Redd/J-Rich - Odom - Aldridge - Oden.
Role Players: Bayless, Outlaw, Maxiell, Fernandez, Webster.
Bench Warmers: Batum, Juwan Howard, Mills, Cunningham, Pendergraph

I erased the Mavericks and Warriors trades, it's one of the other 4 (maybe 2)

Felton is a solid defender, but perhaps the worst offensive starting PG in the league. Adding Iverson to the league's best offense is a joke. Jason Kidd is an OK idea, but he is old. You should have got Ariza instead of Odom.
