That's just about enough of that. Keep it on topic from now on.
Speaking of which, the Grizzlies evened up the series in another close one. Another huge game for Durant, one assist shy of a triple double, but as the series goes to Memphis I'm not feeling particularly confident about my prediction.

It saddens me why people don't respond to you with hugs and flowers when you initiate a discussion with such utmost respect and reasons!? Besides you put benji to a shame with your enormous basketball knowledge, to a point where I can't even discuss basketball with you because I know so LIL and my grammars bad mens!!!
You know your shit, my man.
Ok Novu that's enough. I didn't say a word towards you in that post so why don't you just stop being a little crybaby bitch eh? Nobody really gives a shit what you and I are arguing about so don't bring other people in this (comparing me to benji). If you want me to start respecting you as a poster stop being so ignorant, boring and childlish. Either way, if you want to continue this idiotic fight you can always PM me instead of being a primadona attention whore bitch like you are being right now. And YES I am sure I have more basketball knowledge than you, never said I was the smartest one on thr forum. Stop taking unnecessary, lame, childlish shots on me and talk about basketball u stupid annoying pain in the ass.
Ps Andrew if you want to ban me fine, I deserve it. Just calm Novu down a bit.

It's not like things have been all that bleak though for the Thunder. 2 games were close but it also showed the Thunder also can keep up with Grizzlies' grind game despite no Westbrook.
Nonetheless this certainly is the series of 2nd Round. Love the way KD is playing which gives the Thunder chance in every game(if he can keep up), and love the way Marc and Zach are playing as a frontcourt duo. The best frontcourt tandem since Bynum and Gasol. Puts Marc's brother and Dwight to shame.

That's the purpose of the 'grind game'. The priority isn't to pile up the points and build a huge lead (of course if it happens it's welcome), it's to wear the other team down over the course of the game and then make your move in the final quarter/minutes to finish them off.
Fri May 10, 2013 8:43 am
I guess... But not neccessarily all grind games are close though. Especially the games in this series were extremely close so far.

I don't think any team prefers to lose a lead just to stick with a particular style of play...obviously...
Fri May 10, 2013 12:53 pm
I don’t either. Obviously.
Just that each team has different style of basketball they usually stick to. MEM does make full use of shot clock and plays a gritty D(which also forces the other team to use up shotclock). HOU puts up the shot as soon as they bring up the ball and plays lesser D(thus up-tempo). OKC is facing a 180 degree different team from the first round in terms of pace and style. This is another beautiful aspect to this Thunder’s series.
Maybe I should have said Grizzlies’ game instead of “Grizzlies ‘grind’ game” just for the generality sake. I just thought the term ‘grind’ suits their game the best as they even call their home ‘grind house’.
Fri May 10, 2013 2:03 pm
Now you're just ranting off to nowhere for not knowing how to use 'grind'.

The Grizz are a real blue collar team. They put on their hardhats and they just get to work.
Sat May 11, 2013 3:35 pm
Indeed.
You don't get to be one of the leading marijuana suppliers without putting some hard work in it.
Sun May 12, 2013 12:39 pm
Damn, OKC down 2-1
Mon May 13, 2013 2:31 am
Durant can't do it all. He needs help right now.
But I really thought of LeBron when KD missed the clutch free throws. ahahha
Mon May 13, 2013 5:50 am
Dang it. If the Grizzlies make it through, will Tim Duncan be able to stop Zach and Marc? Even Bogut alone has been a challenge to his old legs.
Mon May 13, 2013 10:56 am
Right now, it's not exactly a guarantee that the Spurs will make it through.
Mon May 13, 2013 12:18 pm
Funny scenario is we end up Griz VS GSW, a surprise from the West.
Tue May 14, 2013 2:45 pm
Thunder are done. They were up huge at one point and they blew it big time.
Tue May 14, 2013 5:08 pm
I stopped watching for a bit and caught it at the end of the 3rd when Memphis tied it up. did not watch the rest of the game, but i should have. it looked like a good one.
Wed May 15, 2013 2:42 am
It was a good one, but the game really shouldn't have gone into overtime because Randolph and Gasol both went 1/2 from the line in the closing moments. Doesn't matter, overtime made the game more exciting AND the Griz got the win.

As NovU said, series is pretty much over.
Thu May 16, 2013 3:35 pm
Grizzlies win the series in 5, advance to the Western Conference Finals for the 1st time in franchise history! Prepare to bear the fear from the Grizzlies. Oh yeah!!!!!!

Sam Presti didn't take pointers when Mark Cuban dismantled his 2011 champion roster.

So yeah, I was way off on this one. Durant had a pretty good series, rough shooting percentages in the last couple of games aside, but as a team the Grizzlies were clearly too much for one star to overcome. Still a pretty close series though, I can't help but think that if Westbrook had been healthy, it would've gone the other way.
Still, you can only play the opponent that shows up and the Grizzlies took care of business. It's going to be a fun Western Conference Finals, no matter who advances from the Spurs/Warriors series.
Thu May 16, 2013 11:54 pm
KD was phenomenal for the first two games and then choking started to happen rapidly, which got worse game by game. And then he finally quit in game 5, thus a Kevin Duquit. LeChamp needs to teach him how to live up to the moment as that's what he's been all about in his entire career.

Looking at your Heat-Bulls prediction, 2nd round could have gone better for you.
Fri May 17, 2013 1:42 pm
I wonder what will happen if Andrew and Jao's jinx went against each other, who's stronger.
