Especially since you can make a trade on draft day with the number one pick being more valuable then it was during the season. I think it all comes down to who they can get with the cap relief.

His comments are very rational. They only had a 3% chances of getting the pick and had they not made the trade, things would have been different and 97% of the time, they're stuck with Baron Davis's contract and the 8th pick.

of course he regrets in. no one ever wants to sign with the clippers anyway so who cares about cap space

I wish I'm as wise and observant as Sauru when I get older.

yeah well all that comes at a cost. i am not sure if i have made a single post with out some form of typo

We don't mind that. We understand it's the result of your incontinence. You can't bother correcting typos when you're bothered by unclean pants. It's ok, we still love your racist Celtic ass.

You start every post in lower case, ALL of your posts contain at least one typo lol

But they won't think about about signing with the Clippers, they will think about signing on Blake Griffin's team.

Yes, but their pick
did end up being the first overall. In the face of such an unlucky outcome, who wouldn't wish they could take back the deal then and there?
He also seems to justify the deal by pointing out they have Mo Williams and finished out the last 22 games at .500. That's not much of a consolation prize for giving up the first overall pick.

GO JAZZ! That is all.

I don't think that's what he meant. Without Mo they likely finish with a different record and different odds. Not making the trade changes the course of human history in a billion little ways and almost certainly the outcome of the draft lottery in some way, and there's still a 97% chance that pick doesn't become their's. If not, then the pick probably goes to Detroit, as the Clips lose a few extra games without Mo. [/tangent]

A player who I predicted would have a good NBA career

The X do you mean Terrico White?

Perhaps, but what GM in their right mind wouldn't feel some regret or wish they could have the pick back since it turned out to be number one? I guess he's just being philosophical about it, but at the end of the day it came back to bite them.

Have you forgotten what went on here in NYC the past ten years? This cat must have studied under Zeke.
I feel bad for Blake, wasting his prime years for this joke of a franchise.

Can you imagine Blake Griffin, and Derrick Williams, and Baron Davis playing together?
Stupid Clips.

Just like the Blazers had a little hole at the 5 in 84...
I'm not comparing Irving to MJ in no ways, just Cleveland is not in the position to worry about picking based on position needs.Edit: What's so special about Baron Davis at this point of his career to get exited about? Lamrock pretty much already told what I was going to say (butterfly effect).

Davis will still be a very good point guard for another couple years. Besides I can see Derrick Williams playing a lot better than Irving anyway.

wut. If you think Davis will still be a very good point guard (or is for that matter), I don't know what does that make Chris Paul to be, God?
z02 wrote:Besides I can see Derrick Williams playing a lot better than Irving anyway.
Now there's something that makes more sense, if they see Derrick more talented than Irving, then they should take him, that should be the reason, not because you want to play your 32-year old point guard, who doesn't have anything to do with their future other than being a cap killer. You don't pick based on need with the first pick, you take the best talent available.

Lol @ this thread. Don't draft a PG because Baron's there, Mo Williams is a good consolation prize and Antwan Jamison is worth a lottery pick. Come on guys
