And Kobe Bryant once again proves he is the greatest of all time by defeating the NBA-RUN New Orleans Hornets and their in-the-bag referee allies despite no help from Lady Gaga fan Pau Gasol and having to do it all alone yet again. Truly an impressive display that further cements his place on top of all the record and history books.

He also single handily destroyed all the medias love-fest over Chris Paul who wouldn't start for any other team in the league, especially not the Lakers.

If this game doesn't earn him another rightful MVP award then we know the fix is in.

at least explain what pisses you off so we can jump in too.

okay, refs let them play. they missed some calls and outright did not call some to allow for some physicality. lots of taps on the wrists, leg kicks on jumpers, lower body contact that wasn't called. both teams still shot a healthy amount of free throws.

and as far as the kobe hate, i suggest just accepting kobe for what he is: a star. he knows this. he will jack up bad shots. he will complain constantly. he thinks the game should run a certain way and the money people throw at him suggest he thinks correctly. him taking only 10 shots today, i'm sure, was something that took quite a bit of self control. i expected him to go 3/30 tonight.

has his sharing of the ball not changed dramatically since gasol came? if the shot clock isn't down, i find his shot selection completely tolerable. if the shot clock is down, it's usually because there was nothing in the inside and everyone wants him to bail them out anyway.

he shoots 30%? gave chris paul 6 free throws on 2 fouls? 5/8 from the line? okay. bad game. didn't score.
but he still only took 10 shots. he shut down chris paul for a quarter when he was on him. he hit guys for open shots. he came off a game shooting 50%, with a lifeless 4th quarter by the lakers which he again tried to bail them out unsuccessfully. the only player to shoot better than him was shannon brown (4/6).

you seem to be utterly baffled by the world's collective awe of his game when there are players like chris paul who are playing superb and consistent basketball who don't get half of his love. that's fine. i agree kobe isn't as good as the world makes him out to be, and paul is better than most people realize. still, kobe brings in seats. kobe is the face of the lakers, has been for quite some time, and will likely be for a few more seasons. he can do little wrong. that's the way it is. if the lakers do not make it into and win the finals, however, i promise his image will take a massive hit.

nobody thinks kobe is the greatest that ever played, and the few that do haven't gone through puberty yet.

besides, who should have won mvp in the finals last year? nobody was that spectacular that series. okay ray allen broke a 3 point record, but then followed it with an 0-8 showing.

and yes. i also share your massive hard-on for chris paul. he literally does everything. there is no weakness in chris paul.
but we should still keep in mind that the lakers make any point guard look awesome.

Not to take anything away from the Lakers but what a missed opportunity for the Hornets in Game 2, Kobe's not going to have too many nights where he's that quiet offensively. I believe the Hornets can and probably will take another game at home to keep things interesting but having said that, I'm still confident the Lakers will ultimately move on.

Good to see Mr Bynum earning his paycheck. He's been the Lakers' MVP so far this series. (Y) I hope his knee holds up though.

And good that Pau finally had a good run in Game 3. Hope to see him get back to his usual All-Star ability in Game 4.

First scoreless half since 2004 for Kobe Bryant I think it said on the broadcast and the Lakers trail by 4 at halftime. Hope they can pick it up in the next half.

Awesome shot by Jack, with 9.3 seconds to go, Hornets with 4 :P

Lakers have to win at home. Game 5 will be interesting. Reminds me of last year's series against the Thunder.

Good shot by Jack because if he had not sunk it, I reckon the game would have gone to OT. Chris Paul is absolutely carving us up. Kudos to him.

We've seen this before.

Series tied 2-2.

09-LA vs. Rockets
09-LA vs. Nuggets
10-LA vs. Suns

LA in 6. :)

09 Rockets - Yao got injured in that series. No T-Mac either.
09 Nuggets - Billups only joined them early in the season, didn't have the benefit of a full training camp with the Nuggets. They didn't even have that much proper inbounds plays by the time they reached the playoffs.
10 Suns - not so great D. Artest broke the Suns' back with that three in game 5?
11 Hornets - has a D that's in the league top 10. Though they have a slow as molasses offense, Chris Paul is awesome.

10 Suns- lakers could not figure out the suns' zone defense. ron artest saves kobe's airball with a game winning tip in at the buzzer

Even though the Hornets took Game 1 in LA, I still prefer the Lakers' chances with two home games in what has essentially become a best of three. That's not to take anything away from New Orleans or count them out completely but they blew a golden opportunity in Game 2 when Kobe barely scraped into double digits in scoring, a win that would've given them a 3-1 series lead heading into Game 5. Whatever happens though it's great that they've been able to make it a series despite missing one of their regular starters.
