I can't believe that it looks like Yao Ming is going to get to be the starting center, he's been injured too much, otherwise if it wasn't for the injuries he should be the starter. Rose as a starter, m yes indeed. But then again, you got Rose, Rondo and possibly Reymond Felton as well.
Felton might make the allstar team in the east, Keving Garnett starting, i don't know about that because of his injuries. I'd rather see Ameri as the starter because he's a better scorer than Garnett this year. where is Josh Smith in all of this though? Could he be the third string small forward or the 3rd string power forward if he makes the allstar game for the east?
Who'd be the backup center in the east? I'd say Roy Hibbert, i think he's having an allstar like year, blocks and points, even rebounds. Should Kevin Love be an allstar? Most definitely, i wonder how many votes he's been getting, he's a rebounding machine this year.
There are so many power forwards in the east to pick from, Kevin Garnett, Ameri Stoudamire, Josh Smith, Carlos Boozer and Chris Bosh. This is going to be tough this year, tough to vote for players, there are so many good ones. Especially in the east.

I'd love to see Rose get the start, but Rondo's a worthy choice. Whatever happens, it's great to see Rose in the running.
Yao topping the Western centres in votes might not be such a bad thing in light of the news of his latest injury. While it's a shame to see Yao go down with another stress fracture, his selection means that the other Western centres on the ballot, none of whom have a really strong claim to starting in the game, won't be voted in. Presumably Yao won't be able to play which means he'll be replaced and it's at the discretion of the Western coach as to who starts in his place; going with the current leaders, that means Gasol could move over to centre and either Dirk or Duncan, one or both of whom I'd assume will be selected for the bench, can move into the starting lineup.

Fuck CP3 ,Deron should Start
Fri Dec 17, 2010 7:02 pm
Brendan Haywood as starter
Sat Dec 25, 2010 2:58 am
My new, revised starting 5s.
WEST: Nash, Dudley, Hill, Frye, Lopez
EAST: Augustin, Jackson, Wallace, Diaw, Mohammed
Really,
WEST: Nash, Kobe, Durant, Dirk, Chandler (for lack of other good centers that aren't injured *cough*yao*cough* in the west)
EAST: Rondo, Wade, Bron, Stat, Dwight
Wed Dec 29, 2010 2:17 am
East: Howard, Stoudemire, James, Rose, Nelson (I made Rose as a shooting guard, I want Nelson and Rose to start)
West: Carlisle, Williams, Sloan, Jackson, Popovich
Wed Dec 29, 2010 3:22 am
The West Forwards will be the toughest to choose. Carmelo, Duncan, Gasol, Durant, Scola, Nowitzki, Love and Griffin all are having All-Star seasons.
Wed Dec 29, 2010 4:22 am
Indeed. I'd love to see Griffin in the All Star game, not just in the dunk contest. He's such a stellar dunker. Should guarantee a few highlights by himself if was chosen.

Third returns have been announced. The line-ups, if voting ended today:
EastC: Dwight Howard
F: Kevin Garnett
F: LeBron James
G: Dwyane Wade
G: Rajon Rondo
WestC: Yao Ming
F: Carmelo Anthony
F: Kevin Durant
G: Kobe Bryant
G: Chris Paul
As I said before, Yao's selection could still be a blessing in disguise. He's been ruled out for the season so he'll need to be replaced. None of the other players listed at centre on the ballot are really great candidates to start, but either his replacement or someone else the Western coach chooses to start in the game can be a better choice.

Tyson Chandler isn't getting votes at all. Robin Lopez has more votes than he does.

If you ask me, or just about anyone, Tyson Chandler is better than Robin Lopez or Yao Ming with a stress fracture in his ankle. Hell, Brendan Haywood, TC's BACKUP, might be voted in as an All-Star!!!
Fri Jan 07, 2011 9:22 am
Chandler isn't on the ballot, that's why.

Rose is only 12.000 votes behind Rondo with 17 days remaining!!
Hopefully he will make it!!He deserves to be the starter with his performance.
Booze is way back ,but I believe he will be selected by the coaches. He's been playing really great thus far.
Fri Jan 07, 2011 8:45 pm
I'm not sure that Boozer will get the nod. I think Rose is there one way the other, either edging out Rondo in the fan voting or getting in as a reserve, but Boozer getting in as well might be pushing it. I'd love to see them both get in of course but my guess is that it'll just be Rose.
Fri Jan 07, 2011 9:26 pm
Amar'e will be one reserve (if he doesn't pass KG), then it's either Bosh or Boozer I think.
Fri Jan 07, 2011 10:41 pm
In terms of impact and performance so far,for me it will be:
1.Amar'e (It's clear why,and why he deserves to start as well)
2.Boozer(since his return he's averaging a almost a double-double per game-19.7 ppg,9.9 rpg-though he lacks a little on defense)
3.Bosh
4.Garnett(He's popular,and that's why he's voted that much)
Garnett has only 24,000 votes lead against Amar'e.And as Rose cut the deficit from Rondo by 40,000 votes the last week,Amar'e can do it as well.
As for the coach picks. If Garnett starts they are going to pick Amar'e and possibly Bosh, wanting to have the Big 3 in ASG,but Boozer deserves it more.
If Amar'e starts,Boozer and Bosh may play both instead of Garnett.

lol, the same can be said for the other 2 guys on the top of your list.
Fri Jan 14, 2011 6:18 am
New returns have been announced. Pretty much the same as the last lot, except for Derrick Rose jumping over Rondo to take 2nd place among East guards and Amare taking over from Kevin Garnett.
Fri Jan 14, 2011 8:42 am
Good news for Rose and Boozer!! Rose is near to his first all star starter appearance, while with Garnett 2nd,Booze can get the edge on coach's voting and make the reserves.
What about Melo? If he goes to the nets his votes will be carried over to the east ballot or he's going to play in the west if he gets voted(really don't know on what exact place he is as I'm on my mobile and can't view the list) or selected by coaches before the trade happens?(like one some years ago,i think it was Billups or AI,sure it was a guard though)
Fri Jan 14, 2011 11:15 am
Great to see Rose leapfrog Rondo in the latest returns; let the hating commence.

If Melo is traded to an Eastern Conference team, his votes do indeed transfer over.
Fri Jan 14, 2011 1:02 pm
Wow! The east is awesome, the lineup is just awesome! I hope that is the starting lineup, c-Dwight Howard, power forward- Ameri Stoudemire, small forward - Lebron James?, shooting gaurd-Dwayne Wade and point gaurd Derrick Rose. Hopefully Lebron can be 100% by the allstar game. If this truely will be the starting lineup, then the east should win.
Just imagine what the stats of the eastern starters could be! All of the starters can score in double figures, i see the east winning in a blow out, and also scoring over 120 points. Or on the other it could be competitive, which probably will be. I hope those will be the eastern conference all star starters.
Fri Jan 14, 2011 1:08 pm
Fuck. Stupid people voting for Melo and Derrick Blows.
Fri Jan 14, 2011 1:16 pm
Right on cue.
Fri Jan 14, 2011 1:31 pm
If Melo comes to the East, does he have more votes to take the starting forward spot away from Amare?
