Yeah, I feel where you're coming from. But as fans, we got to be a bit more optimistic. I'm hoping for a fairytale season... but as you have pointed out, there are many many factors that may steer this off-course.

The Lakers fairytale season was last season ago. It's time they face up to reality, they will get slaughtered by Chris Paul's Hornets come playoff time.

See, normally I'd say "quote me (whenever)" seals the deal on something not happening but then Drex goes and calls Brand going to the Sixers so maybe the "quote me" curse is broken.
Anyway, Odom did indeed come off the bench in the season opener to score 9 points and grab 7 rebounds in 29 minutes.
