Infact he might even be better than Jordan simply because he can shoot 3 pointers. Chris Paul and Lebron and Garnett are peons compared to him. He won the mvp since november 2007....he's going to win the finals MVP when the lackers win in 2 games and he's going to win the gold medal at the olympics...then he's going to rule the world and fuck every white women in the world who will subsequently extort him for fame and money....yay!!!!"

I started out the season supporting kobe and the lakers because of the effort they've been putting out over the past couple of years ...but that was until the basketball world suddenly decided he was the second comming of JESUS fucking CHRIST and the rest of the lakers were his angels. The rest of the league became his peasants and the dick riding unjustly commenced. The sad thing is....this is his worst season in the past fucking 4 years....but he gets MVP. The afforementioned basketball world decided that....hey..we fucked up and gave it to steve hash the year kobe averaged 35 ppg because we thought a white guy should win it a couple times....and we fucked up and gave it to dick dowitski last year when lebron should have gotten it. So lets see....he's been in the league longer than lebron and paul...and lets use LeBron having a shitty team as an excuse and make up for our bullshit by giving it to kobe this year. I seriously can't wait for next season to start....

end of rant....

Celtics in 7 btw....
:P

Aside from the Rookie of the Year plum, Lebron will never win anything until he retires or maybe a gold medal because Kobe's now with the USA national team. I think we should go straight to what the topic really is and not include players that are losers. Let's respect Kobe, the Lakers and the Celtics. They really deserve to be in the Finals and they fought hard to get in to the top so hopefully posts like this should not be posted. Your Celtics in 7 btw is not an excuse.

He was talking about the excessive dickriding.
"Celtics in 7" wasn't his excuse, he was ranting.

Yep....and this flen flyss is a perfect example of what I was ranting about. I'm not LeBron so it doesn't offend me when you try to insult him like a 5 year old goading a fight. Just another ignorant n00b whose posts I can now ignore from now on. :P

I find it slightly amusing that you keep repeating this same cycle of yours every couple of months.

You come, you make some posts and anyone that disagrees with you, you call him a n00b and play the "oh I've been here so long so yeah, I'm pretty much right" card.

If you wouldn't disappear every couple of weeks, people might actually give a rats ass about what you have to say.

Cue the "I'm sorry I have a life" story, right? Have a life. I don't care, just don't come back and keep going "oh n00b this, n00b that". The "n00bs" are the people that keep this place going now days.

Tim Duncan in 2003; and it does seem pretty likely.

It's happened twenty times in the 52 year history of the MVP award and five other regular season MVPs have been runners-up in the NBA Finals. Not surprisingly, Bill Russell has the most MVP awards in the same season he was on the championship team with all five of his MVP seasons also yielding Celtics championships. Michael Jordan is second with four of his MVPs coming in years the Bulls won it all. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar has more MVPs than anyone with six but only two came in championship years (1971 with the Bucks and 1980 with the Lakers). Michael Jordan, Shaquille O'Neal and Willis Reed are the only players to date to collect All-Star, regular season and Finals MVP awards in the same season, with Jordan doing it twice.

Matthew wrote:On a slightly off topic note, I want to give kudos to Paul Pierce. For years he stuck with the Celtics and he has finally made the finals. He has been Bostons best player this off season and it's been a while since I've felt genuinely happy for a player making the finals but it's great to see him be rewarded for all his hard work over the years. Also Ray Allen who took so much criticism in these playoffs alone for his bad shooting. It was awesome to see him find ways to contribute without hitting 3 or 4 threes in a game. And obviously KG who I have questioned over the years for his lack of leadership in the clutch. I've always remained a fan of his and I just hope he realises where he is (the finals) is no different to anywhere else he has been in the NBA and continues to dominate.

Agreed, it's great that those three players are finally get a real shot to win it all after making Conference Finals in previous years and enduring some tough seasons since.

See, this is why the Celtics should not win it. I mean they've won it SO many times, let LA have some glory too.

Lol, that's got to be the most pathetic argument to win...ever.

Bill Russell should've been a Laker. Silly Russell, Celtics are for kids.

wow Lean, you suck balls. since when did you jump on the Celtics bandwagon?

anyways, I really don't care for either team. but despite my disdain for Kobe, Sasha, and Chris Mihm, I still am a Laker fan at heart growing up watching Magic, Kareem & the Forum so I can't root for the Celtics. plus, I'd like to see Odom get a ring. and Ariza. that is all.

I called him a n00b cause his comments were that of a newb...nothing to do with what you keep insinuating about me every fucking year. I'm no elitist....im not a mod anymore as you can see nor can I edit the site...i'm a regular NLSC has been like you.

..I'll tell you what though...I wish you would stop putting words in my mouth and I won't be arguing with you and your pms rants towards me this time. You talk like a woman I fucked and never called her back so now she's stalking me. This is the first and last time i'll be talking to you about it....do your best at trying to goad me...have fun punk.

..anyway...back to what really matters here. I think this series will go down as the best finals we've seen since the bulls era. Two teams that are not only closely matched but teams that the casual nba fan wants to see unlike the spurs and piss-tons. Ratings this year have aleady been higher than it has been in years and I don't expect any different from this series. I'll be recording every game cause something magical is gona happen.

You don't think the 2000 and 2006 finals were good? If this years finals is as good as those series I'll be a very happy man.

They were good but I have a feeling this series will be even better but not only cause of the competitivness but the fact that its two teams that carry such a rich history that even a casual fan will be able to enjoy it. Quite frankly....the ratings speak and will speak for themselves. Anytime the finals feature the spurs...I don't watch.

So you don't watch because the casual fans don't watch? Wow ok... And I hope you're right that this series is better because then it will go down as one of the all time best. But I can't agree on the history point. This series would be just as good of a matchup if it was the clippers vs bobcats with the celtic and laker lineups.

Me personally, I'd like to see what happens first in game one, see how they play. The addition of Gasol made such a big impact, to the way the Lakers played. It's hard to really for me to say who will win it. The Lakers look more organized, but the Celtics seems to have the hunger. I think guys like Glen Davis, Cassell and Posey will really make the difference for the Celtics. I've noticed teams coached by Phil Jackson usually get screwed by players which they seem to forget to scout.

nah they already did that during the season. plus a week in between the conference finals & NBA Finals is enough time for ESPN & the media to write their fluff stories about the old rivalry.

I'm a noobz (as immature, casual fan hiphoppers would say).

Lakers in 4 games. hehe.. Not all of you will agree and I may eat these words after game 1 but I will stick with a sweep but if the Lakers lose game 1 then I would say in 5 and so on until the Celtics win 4 games.

All i know is they better have both teams wear throwback jerseys during at least one of the games. That would be sweet, and maybe even generate sales. :D

But all right, Lakers vs Celtics instead of Jackal vs Yohance.

I'm more eager to see the Gasol and Garnett matchup more than the Pierce/Bryant match up, anyone remember the facial Gasol served up on Garnett back in his rookie year? Gasol got so damn soft. :(

I've got Lakers in 6, expecting a split of first 2, then winning 2 out of 3 at home before taking it in all in Boston....

I hope I'm wrong & Celtics win in 6 or 7....been a fan of Paul Pierce since he was a sophomore at Kansas, so hoping he leads the Celtics past the Lakers....don't know if it will happen though, the way Kobe is in 4th quarter, it might be too much....

I'm thinking the series will be somewhat like western conference final. Just like Spurs, the Centics doesn't have a deep enough bench and relies too heavily on Big 3. Spurs's big 3, Duncan, Manu, and Parker couldn't stop lakers' offence or provide enough offence to win and realistically, I don't think Boston is a much of better Defensive team than Spurs. But maybe has bit more weapons on offensive end than spurs since the key players seem to be healthy. Manu's ankle caused much trouble for spurs but it seems like Boston won't be having too much of injury issues.

Lakers in 7.

I reckon they'll do it at least once, similar to the Nets pulling out their old ABA jerseys in the 2003 Finals. Probably not the whole way with the shoes, socks and shorts but certainly one of the old jersey designs. My pick is the 80s if they do.
