He is a better player than Tony Parker, but Tony deserves to be on the All-Star team, and don't hate. Carmelo Anthony doesnt deserve to be in the All-Star game because of that pus*y - a*s punch he threw on Jeffries. Other than that, he should have been on the All-Star team, but like I said I think that incident really f**ked him up.
I don't get how Melo isn't the biggest snub according to some people. Yes, he hit Mardy Collins and it was a stupid thing to do but the All Star Game is something that celebrates how well some players play basketball. Melo is an All Star level player, nobody can deny that.
Its like some people are just blind when looking at a player and have to involve incidents where a player has slipped up not basketball wise, but as a person, to give reason to keeping him out of the All Star Game. Pathetic.

It aint nobody's fault that Melo didnt make it
It's the coaches fault

But Melo deserves it more. He's the leader scorer in the league. You can't say he
doesn't deserve to be in the ASG because he threw a punch. That's like saying Kobe doesn't deserve to be there because he got accused of rape a couple years ago or Iverson because he has a criminal record

. It's not a valid argument, IMO.
The difference between the Kobe and Iverson situations and Melos is that neither of them did what they did on a basketball court. Melo threw a punch in a fight that didn't even involve him. It may not be a valid reason to not be in the ASG, but with it being the first major fight since the brawl at the Palace Stern had to let the players know he means business. Superstar or not.

I have to say Melo, even I who am french, I would have a lot more prefered Anthony in place of Tony Parker!!

The point is that, on the basketball court, Melo deserves to be in the ASG more than Parker, IMHO. He got suspended for 15 games, but he still leads the league in scoring and he's leading the Nuggets to the Playoffs. Those 15 games were his punishment for what he did, and that's it.

Melo should be in there over Parker. Averaging 31 ppg and not being included in the all star game is just outragous. Suspensions or no suspensions.
Joe Johnson should be in there over Hamilton. Hamilton is good and deserving and all that, but Johnson is averaging 26, 4 and 4. He should be in over Hamilton's 22, 4 and 4. The all star game is (or should be) about rewarding the individual, rather than the individual on a winning team. It's not Johnson's fault he doesn't have Billups, Prince and Rasheed. Instead, he has Lue, Smith and Zaza.
Boozer over Randolph however is a correct decision IMO (and that's ignoring the fact that boozer's team is winning more than randolph's). Boozer's 22 and 12 is much more effecient (he's shooting 57%FG) than Randolph's 24 and 10 on 46% shooting. Boozer also has less turnovers and more assists.

hmmm.....if theres any Piston deserving to play it's Hamilton, yes, even more so than Billups. However, since record is part of the selection process both got in. That's understandable when your on top the East. What i would have liked to see, is Joe Johnson go instead of VC. Nets, with their sub 500 record only deserve 1 player, and that's deffinately Jason Kidd.

According to that argument Redd should be in more than Johnson. If it is rewarding the individual it is the best regardless of injuries.

yo yo yo...Melo threw a pu**y-a*s punch which cost him the ASG. I would have suspended that nigga for the rest of the season for being a PUS*Y. Im sorry for my language. What matters is that Tony made it and Melo didnt....and why the hell r yall on Parker's nuts..let the dude go, its his 2nd ASG, he got a couple rings, and he got Eva.
"It aint nobody's fault that Melo didnt make it."
It aint nobody's fault, he made that shit for himself.

ASG rewards players on court performance... Rings don't matter, Wives don't matter, and previos ASG appearances don't matter. Carmelo is a better player than Tony Parker, period.

i honestly think parker didn't deserve it over othe guards in the west like CP3 or Deron. J Ho should get the nod over Melo. Plus the Pistons are still overrated
Tue Feb 06, 2007 3:00 pm
CP3 and Deron arent big names QUITE yet...they dont play on big name teams either. Whens the last season the jazz and hornets made it to the finals or won a finals? Its been a while hasnt it? Parker got in on the fact that with their pseudo dynasty, the spurs are a very popular team. give it a year or two more and it'll be CP3 and Deron every year barring injury.
Now bout this 'melo thing: yes what he did was fucking idiotic. Yes he served his sentence. So why shouldnt he be allowed in the game? This is about playing, not about punching a shitty player on a shitty team, and it wouldnt change if he had punched Dirk or anyone else on a good team; he served his sentence that was his punishment. He's apologized, he's explained, he's done everything he's been told to do since. So why still hold it against him? I do not honestly think many of you thinkin 'Melo's actions were completely out of line have played on a tight knit team before. I've seen plenty of brawls and most of them are over less than that foul that occurred. Was carmelo smart to punch someone? no But could i see with the type of guy he is it happening? sure. It was a one time thing and people need to forgive and forget. Get pissed off when its people like artest who always pull shit... not when its once in 4 years by a very young guy who got a little fired up.

Calm down, man. There's no need to act tough here, and if you're going to, don't "bleep" your own words. It's funnier when we can read the full text.
I don't have anything against Tony Parker, and I don't think anyone does. The thing is, he's the only questionable player on the West roster, because frankly, there's at least 4 players who are having a better season than him (Melo, Okur, Howard, Randolph, etc). And we can argue all year about this selections because the reserves are picked by the coaches based on who's having the best year, not like the starters that are just to see who's more popular.

i don't think that melo shouldn't make it because of the punch. i just hate him.
Wed Feb 07, 2007 5:33 am

wussup dude...

Well, Peter Vecsey said it well: He is not fun to play with. I see him as a selfish player, and he has no "identity" to his game. It's tough to describe it. It just don't get excited when I see him play. Obviously something similar the coaches must have felt about his game, since he didn't get voted in. I also think the same thing would have happened if there was no suspension..

Carmelo Anthony
But i Still Like him
Wed Feb 21, 2007 3:22 am
Well I'm glad that ray got in now

Carmelo Anthony or Zach Randolph.
