Wade and the heat are seriously dissapointing. They are missing something that i cant put my finger on to be a championship team. If they are lucky enough to pass the nets...i expect detroit to sweep them.
Tue May 09, 2006 12:24 pm
J-will, Walker, and Posey arent consistant enough for the heat to be great.
Tue May 09, 2006 12:28 pm
Heat cut the lead to 9 on a 18 to 3 run with 4 1/2 minutes left in the game. My opinion? too little too late.
Tue May 09, 2006 12:31 pm
Damn, if this continues to Game 2 we might just have a highly heated series yet.
And throughout the first three I thought this was perfect.
Tue May 09, 2006 12:35 pm
I agree with Yohance. Everyone predicted that the Heat would be this monster team this season. They have a good record, but that doesn't signify that they're an elite team. They've lost a lot of series against the top-tier team in this league and that isn't going to cut it, especially in the playoffs.
Tue May 09, 2006 12:52 pm
They play well in the end, in fact they've come back from double digit deficits 13 times this season.
But in times like tonight it comes too late. This team was better last season before they added the "huge" talent players.
Tue May 09, 2006 1:32 pm
i said before that they aren't an elite team. They just don't have the personnel and Riley is esseintially wasting the Shaq trade.
Wed May 10, 2006 4:19 am
Well I'm not suprised about the outcome.1st and 2nd quater really cost them. The 4th quater was just to late, they needed that in the 3th not the 4th quater.Oh well sometimes you win sometimes you lose thats just how it is.I hope they improve for game 2.

No, they have the personnel to be an elite team. It isn't by luck or chance that they consistently come back from huge defecits to win games. I just wonder whether the effort is there.
It is equally amazing how much better they are as soon as Shaq is on the floor. You'd think Riley would find some way of keeping him from consistently being hung out to dry on defense. Personally I wish he'd change the starting lineup to...
C - Shaq
PF - Haslem
SF - S. Anderson/Posey
SG - Wade
PG - Williams
Antoine just cant guard anyone... he's a great energy guy though, and he is good on offense. I just think a better defender like Posey or Shandon Anderson should start the game so that Shaq can get into the game without being quickly put into foul trouble by having to defend penetration w/o help.
The concept is similar to Dunleavy starting Quinton Ross instead of Corey Maggette.

No, they have the personnel to be an elite team.
but they aren't an elite team. ingrediants aren't shit if you can't turn them into the final product.
Wed May 10, 2006 12:46 pm
shaq was in foul trouble. Same thing in chicago. When shaq isn't in foul trouble game is over, miami wins

Why are you arguing with me? I never said they were an elite team.

Wow... what a hot start tonight. 16-0 run... amazing how inconsistent they are
Thu May 11, 2006 10:29 am
Looking at the score right now all I can say:
oh god.
13-30 with 2 mins left in the first.
Nets are getting killed.
Thu May 11, 2006 12:02 pm
man the refs are in love with miami now..... nets are getting no love at all.
Thu May 11, 2006 12:18 pm
This is just sad.
RJ was injured and spent all of yesterday hobbling around and he's the Nets leading scorer.
Fri May 12, 2006 1:13 am
it's the shaq effect. Shaq not in foul trouble = miami wins easily.
Fri May 12, 2006 1:58 am
Great, Heat won

.
Dwyane Wade:another great effort by him.He really leads the Heat to a win.
Shaq:Great job by the big guy,he is just a monster out there.
Others:Well,they Heaat need them to

.
Great jon and great efforrt and here is the result

.Hope they can keep this up for the rest of the series.

Ooooh damn. VC just baaaaaaaaaaanged on ZO! You guys catch that? OMG!
Sat May 13, 2006 11:21 am
MAN! that was sick! does it top his other one earlier in the season on Zo? Poor poor Zo

Nice follow up on the next possesion with that other nice one hander on the run! C'mon Nets!
Sat May 13, 2006 12:51 pm
No it doesn't top his one earlier this season.

Anyway, Heat win. Yay! Wade finishes with 30-7-10.
Sat May 13, 2006 2:43 pm
tough game for the Nets.....those TO's just killed em.
Sat May 13, 2006 2:55 pm
VC dunks on everyone... but then again Zo always puts everything on the line on defense which is what makes him such a great shot blocker...
Sat May 13, 2006 5:42 pm
Carter was spectacular with those dunks including the facial on Zo as well as that near 360 reverse on the drive along the baseline. Great game to watch but as already mentioned there's no mystery to the Nets' collapse in the final six minutes. A couple of careless turnovers and great anticipation in the passing lanes is all it takes sometimes.
Sat May 13, 2006 6:14 pm
Well the Heat really took advantage of the Nets turnovers.I'm really happy with the result. This one was another great playoff game to watch.Miami leads this series so I hope they can get to the conference finals and kick some Detroit ass there.A little more about the game.Riley really did something to get Miami in shape for this series.Hope they don't lose there touch in game 4.
