wats the onscreen guide? is it only on digital?
we still got analog...
Sun Oct 30, 2005 1:16 am
eventually analog will phase out. Still, better have ESPN than no ESPN
Sun Oct 30, 2005 9:58 am
yeh
we get digital soon anyway :p theyre jacking up analog prices to make it the same price as digital, and also getting rid of the installation cost
its their 10th birthday
10 years in business, and foxtel still hasnt made profit
Sun Oct 30, 2005 11:00 am
I don't have Foxtel and i wont be getting it, so the closest think i have to the NBA is the WNBL on Saturday afternoons.
Sun Oct 30, 2005 2:04 pm
you'd be surprised how much profit they have made.
Australia has some of the highest Pay TV prices in the world. It's basically a Foxtel monopoly here.
And then they charge you $4 for a tv guide, and an additional $4 if you want them to send out a bill to you. How the hell are these costs justified?
Not to mention the sub-par TV on offer compared to other countries cable.....i feel like they are raping me.

Well, they are raping you.

yeh i am. theyve made nothing.
i was reading an article in the green guide (from the age) about their 10th birthday, and they were saying that they still hadnt recorded a profit yet, in all these years.

Yeah, it's digital only. It's a seven day (updated day-by-day) TV guide you can bring up on screen, it's tied in with the Planner, Foxtel Box Office etc.

Andrew since you have the on-screen guide, can you post all the games that arent in the magazine?
apparently there was a replay of the philly/bucks game last night
Thu Nov 03, 2005 10:11 pm
You can build your own with ESPN International's
SportsWizard. I've found that to be the most reliable and informative source...it's also generally a month or two ahead.

ok thanks
Wed Nov 09, 2005 3:31 pm
tomorrows Indiana-Miami game should be kick ass!!!!!

The schedule's now updated through February. The one Bulls game that could have been televised (barring any changes) on ESPN Australia has been replaced with a Bogut game. Good thing I subscribed to the PonTel season ticket.
Looks like we'll be getting the All-Star Friday/All-Star Saturday events, but not the All-Star game. Still better coverage than last year, though it'd be nice if we got the whole Weekend.
Sun Nov 13, 2005 4:32 pm
do we get the rookie game?
and whats the pontel season ticket?
Sun Nov 13, 2005 6:02 pm
It's a
PonTel scubscription; two DVDs per week, featuring either you favourite team's two best games or the two best games of the week, whichever you nominate.
It seems as though we're getting the Rookie/Sophomore game.
Sun Nov 13, 2005 8:18 pm
ah yeh i remember that
i couldnt afford it
Sun Nov 20, 2005 7:34 pm
we get Minny & Bucks instead of a Suns game....works for me, i think this game will be better. They best not cancel that NYK@DP game though.
Mon Nov 21, 2005 8:07 pm
Works for me, KG and Bogut in action.

Hope it's a close battle though.
Tue Dec 13, 2005 3:24 pm
in January we get 3 SAS games, 2 Heat and of course another Cleveland.
Damn ESPN, they should show something other than those teams? Personally i want more Detroit, and it's a shame that they;ve only had one game on given that they are superior to Indy, Cleveland and Miami.
Tue Dec 13, 2005 3:34 pm
That was one of the problems last year too, not enough variety. That's one of the by-products of all the Bogut games that have been scheduled. It's great that we get to see him in action but it does cut down on the variety.
Tue Dec 13, 2005 3:50 pm
well apart from SAS v Milwaukee, we also get SAS vs NYK (Dec 31?) vs Heat vs T'Wolves. Too much in a short time.
I looked at the schedule further ahead (which isn't official) and there is a change of pace, less of the teams we have now.
One thing that annoys me is that we get too many East games given that West coast games start later. So it seems like every week East team is involved and playing at home.
Tue Dec 13, 2005 6:44 pm
It does seem to get a bit more varied in the second half of the season, with a few rebroadcasts of games on FSN here and there.
Tue Dec 13, 2005 9:57 pm
i always thought that TNT had the better games not to mention a superior commentary team.
but still, 4 spurs games in a month....MEGA LAME
Tue Dec 13, 2005 9:59 pm
Too bad weve had no thursday night games the last few weeks..
Tue Dec 13, 2005 11:26 pm
dont forget Bucks v Heat on thurs!
