This is why it should be 1-16 best team playoffs with no regards to conference. This series is virtually the best versus fourth who only made it bcuz teams they faced were mediocre at best. Half the playoffs was garbage with bad teams playing each other.

That would mess up the natural order of things. Mostly Western Conference teams would be in the playoffs and that's not good for NBA Business. A huge chunk of their fan base is in the East Coast. The recent changes have only made the NBA worse. We don't need to see anymore. I agree the quality of basketball is really going to the dumps. The only teams that resemble true basketball are the Warriors and Spurs. It is because they took away hand checking and now certain teams can get away with isolation ball. The only team it seems ineffective against is Golden State. If Adam Silver allowed hand checking back into the NBA, it would make it interesting again. Iso ball does not work with hand checking rules and it would encourage more teams to play team ball.

The basketball that has been played lately in the nba is garbage. They have put so much effort in the offense that seeing teams play defense hurts my eyes. From an european stand-point this finals have been unwatchable so far (no need to talk of the shitty regular season games) and even in the wcf series there were some plays I would go: really, that's the best you can do on defense?

Hand-checking needs to get back seriously, as long as your hands are ruled by the fonamental nba rules and you don't use them for initiating contact or grabbing.

Seeding the Playoffs 1-16 regardless of Conference wouldn't make much difference to the overall quality of the Playoffs, especially in a season like this one. You're basically just swapping a couple of fringe postseason teams for one or two who missed out by a couple of games, and didn't have a legitimate shot at the championship anyway. There are some rules that could stand to be changed or slightly amended, but I don't think that's really the issue, either.

Sometimes, this is just the way it goes. Not every season and Playoffs is going to be as good or better than the last. The Finals isn't always going to be the most epic series in any given postseason, as much as the prize at stake suggests that it should be. You can change the rules, you can change the format, but you're never going to prevent teams from failing to live up to expectations and putting forth subpar efforts in the postseason. Even if the Playoffs were seeded so that the most likely Finals matchup was Warriors vs. Spurs, there's no guarantee that it would happen, and no guarantee it would be an evenly matched series if it did. Some seasons are better and more exciting than others, and even that's largely subjective.

Early blow out losses are huge demise to entertainment value imho. 4-1 or 4-2 series could be still fun if every each game offers competitiveness and drama but huge blowouts and early dominance by one party, just negate from fun because people foresee outcome at early stage and just disregard entire series.

I will probably try to catch every each game of remaining games but I can't blame guys like Kevin saying shit.

If you're going to change the seeding based on overall record, it makes sense to balance out the schedule instead of the current setup. Just my 2 cents

Good question. It doesn't seem like anyone on the Cavs has brought their A game to the Finals. They look lethargic, disinterested, and unfocused. I guess in that respect, a heavy amount of the blame will be heaped on LeBron as the leader and best player, and Lue as the coach. They're the key figures as far as setting an example and the tone for the rest of the team.

That said, it's on everyone on the roster to show up and play. This is the Finals; if that means anything to you, you don't need to wait for your star or head coach to make inspiration speeches or thump you on the chest.

Shit must have felt so good when Cavs were making record in pre-Finals run with all those 3s. Well, now they face a real team with real perimeter defense, they are a lost cause. It fooled people into thinking they're actually improved. Well, where are those 3s now? It was stupid to think Cavs could beat Warriors in their own game anyways.

Talent has never been the problem for LBJ. He's right up there with best of best. Problem is his softness and stupidity just like his new earned fandom. When it becomes do or die, he chooses to do the latter and becomes tentative. I defended him in the past but this inexcusably is happening again. Something struck his head and he's choking again.

LBJ's numbers are inflated largely because every possession literally goes through him. Somebody has to shoot, that's how he gets his assists and points. I am not surprised their offense is stagnated in this finals. There just is no ball movement and every possession is literally waiting for LBJ to do something. It would be a nice tactic usually to let your best player figure it out but LBJ obviously isn't figuring anything out but is rather hurting the team, A LOT. Just as importantly, his defense has been a huge lapse. This is just indefensible.

From the get go, it was obvious Warriors are better team but you probably expected supposed best player LBJ to make this series somewhat competitive. Well, here we have choking LBJ once again. I don't know how else we could elaborate this situation.

Well, Jerry West is "Mr Clutch", yet he was what, 1-8 in the NBA Finals? He had some pretty good teams around him, too. Julius Erving won a title in 1983, but lost on a few occasions before that, despite being on some strong 76ers squads. I think it's a knock on LeBron to some extent, but it shouldn't completely undermine his accomplishments or place in history.
