The Celtic's defense was picture perfect. Even in the first quarter when Bryant was hitting those three bombs, Ray Allen couldn't have defended him better. And they finally confronted Gasol on the soft center he really is.
The Lakers offense was half hearted and choppy: horrible passes, settling for low percentage jumpshots, passing it back and forth with no results.

Anyways, Grats to KG, Allen, and Pierce for finally winning it all after all their ups and downs, never giving up, and staying loyal to their teams in the worst of times.

Fully agreed - big Rondo fan right here. Even my playing style (that I'm developing) is like his.

God, 21 points in a game for any person playing together with the Big Three is a great achievement. And apart from that, he still managed to rebound and steal, not to mention assisting as well.

Rondo really did come through. Despite the good things he's done so far in his career I thought he might be a bit of a weak link with his shaky jumpshot and tendency to try for flair over fundamentals but he stepped up and delivered a fine performance when it mattered the most.

Andrew, is it coincidence that my jump shot sucks just like Rondo?

But talking about Rondo, he definitely needs more work on his free throws. He isn't the "star player" like T-Mac (yet) and can have other skills to make up for the missed free throws.

Rondo is definitely on the road towards a star. And the reason I hate the Celtics (yes I do) is because they trade - KG and Ray. But Rondo and PP are both not acquired from trade. I show love for them.

i hope you die

 Hey, I gave your Celtics a championship, that evens out the loss of the Pats.

Wed Jun 18, 2008 4:07 pm

As long as the Big Three around I don't think he'll stand out as a star player or make any All-Star teams but I'd agree that he's on the way to establishing himself as an above average point guard in the NBA.

Wed Jun 18, 2008 4:33 pm

He is, or will be, one of those "backstage" guys - not much things credited to him, but you can't live without him.

And the Big Three are old (30, 32, 32). Once they retire, Rondo will start to stand out, like Kobe proving that he can assist with better teammates this season.

Sweet we won... I was watching the first quarter all of a sudden I think I fell asleep, cause the next moment I opened my eyes it was now, 3:30 AM.. its good though, ESPN showing re-run right now. Go Celtics!

Wed Jun 18, 2008 5:50 pm

Great win by the C's. Game 7 all over again (vs Atlanta)...Lakers were simply outplayed, heck, they started this run when the Bench of the C's are on the court.

KG played well, and that hanging end-one play against Odom was just epic. Ray shooting the lights out (I just laughed when Vujajic tried to chase him but to no avail)...

Their defense was great, spacing, and a great series...Happy for the Big Three to finally win championship and PJ Brown finally got one as well (correct me if I'm wrong)...

Wed Jun 18, 2008 5:50 pm

Congratulations to the Celtics. Although the team is a bit chelsea london like considering that there are like 10 new players, Im really glad to see KG and PP winning their first ring :)

Wed Jun 18, 2008 6:04 pm

KG did get a Chelsea jersey

you bitch, so that's why the pats lost. They lost some good talent in the offseason, just lost Colvin. Going to struggle this year. But fuck them right now, its all about Celtics. Rondo just damn amazing.

I wouldn't compare Rondo to Kobe in that respect, though I do see what you're suggesting in terms of him being a significant player for the Celtics down the road. That likely won't be for a few years yet though as the Big Three still have productive seasons ahead of them, at least two or three at an All-Star level.

It's over.. The moment that i lived for it in now just a dream
Maybe i won't be able to see the Lakers playing for the title again.. I feel really horibble now... So times to woke up in 4.00am to watch the favorite team and now.. :shake: Feel really deprresed

But the boston showed that they deserved the title.. They played so welll this game.. So dominating.. It is really good to be a C' now..

But I sow some comments with " lakers<form this team, form that teaM"
Guy maybe Lakers loose the finals but no right to compare them with some other teams just becoz the made 4-2 and the other team 4-3.. There is noting similar between serries and serries.. Maybe Boston are the best but still Lakers are in second place.. :!:

Finished watching the re-run. ESPN is trying to interview KG and he's crying his head off and can't even speak. Really touching.

you're RIGHT!!!!

As Doc Rivers said "Never stop believing." There will be more seasons to come for them.

Lakers all the way.

Yeah, saw that as well. First NBA Finals, first NBA championship after so many years with Minny, this just shows how long KG waited for this.

And KG saying to Russell, "I got my own" is classic...priceless...

I don't agree....Ray Allen was only Boston's 2nd best player in the series....Pierce was pivotal in game 1, starred in game 2....Allen didn't do a whole lot in those first 2....then Allen got going, was star of game 3 but loss, played well in game 4, not a factor in game 5, good in game 6, but I'd expect him to hit open 3's....Pierce was the heart & soul....game 4 was won because of him....game 5 he was a machine, just the rest of the team wasn't....barring the series going to 7 games, Ray Allen was never going to win it....Pierce was the key defender on Kobe, & he was the go-to-guy all series long when they needed a bucket....
