Danny Ainge is damn smart.
Maybe he's trying to force Portland to make a deal with them in exchange for not playing Miles.

I dont understand it though. Once a player has been released by the team due to career ending injury. If he signs with another team, why previous team suffer?

It's a protection for the player. Previous team might be lying to player that his injury is severe and career ending so just they could cut him.

Because the Blazers applied for and were granted an exception that allowed them to wipe his contract from the books based on the claim that he wouldn't be able to play again due to his injury being career ending. If it's proven that he can play again, then that exception is null and void.

so i guess jay williams never gotten a dime from shcago. it always sux to see young men with potential leaving the league like that. i'm glad miles is ok now, and hope to see him playing well again.

No, the Bulls negotiated a buyout with Jay Williams so he did get paid but as far as I can recall Chicago didn't apply for the same exception.

the surge in oden's shorts is enough to hold bynum

We shall see who has the last laugh in a few hours. :)

i am very nervous. :P
i hope even if we lose Oden does a great job.

Wed Oct 29, 2008 11:31 am

Oden should play well. :) Don't worry about that!

Wed Oct 29, 2008 11:31 am

I hope Oden blocks a Bynum dunk attempt. Both land at Kobe's feet waiting below and all three get injured for the season.
Yes, I'm a jerk.

Wed Oct 29, 2008 2:37 pm

ODEN IS HURT AGAIN. ARE U SERIOUS. SIGH. i guess he really is fragile. another bust. :(

Wed Oct 29, 2008 2:46 pm

lmao Oden is totally Sam Bowie 2. How sad.

I would still rather have him on the sideline than Durant missing 60 shots a night.

Wed Oct 29, 2008 3:57 pm

Unlucky break for Oden. Oh well... maybe his face does tell his true age. ;)

And bowdown, told you Lakers would roll to an easy win. :)

Wed Oct 29, 2008 5:17 pm

Oden really is damaged goods.
There's still hope though.
If Ilgauskas can do it, Oden can.
I hope.

Microfracture surgery is nasty business. Penny, C-Webb, Mashburn were never the same after it. The only plus for Oden is that he's younger than Amare (Mr. Full Recovery), has plenty of time left and I bet there's been others who've returned to full strength.

Wed Oct 29, 2008 9:08 pm

Bynum was better from the start. :)

Wed Oct 29, 2008 10:10 pm

A bit too soon to be calling him a bust, surely. Injuries are part of the game and it's being reported as a sprain so it could merely be another dose of bad luck rather than a chronic problem. He made it through the preseason without suffering a serious injury; I'd suggest the fact he's coming off surgery that delayed his debut and the misfortune of the injury spoiling his proper NBA debut is blowing everything out of proportion.

Wed Oct 29, 2008 10:38 pm

Oden will be fine....main thing I'm happy about is the transition Rudy Fernandez is making into the NBA (Y)

Thu Oct 30, 2008 9:57 pm

Oden out 2-to-4 weeks with foot sprain

I saw a replay of the injury during the Suns/Spurs game today. Definitely way too early to be deeming him fragile and a bust, that was just bad luck. I know the microfracture surgery isn't the only medical concern but it appeared to be all systems go, halted by one of those things that happens in basketball.

Oh yea..fuck off Yao..Brandon Roy FTW!!
that game winning rainbow 3 with 0.8 seconds on the clock is totally unbelievable..
solid clutch performance by Roy and good contribution from Aldridge..
