Vince Carter has been efficient as of late. Hope he continues that on the playoffs

Dirk going mad like last year? He's been pretty consistent in the playoffs throughout his career.
If anything he needs contributions from his teammates and not him going 'mad'.

Tyson Chandler isn't walking through that door. Dallas is out in the first round this year, but I think their plan is to amnesty Haywood and sign Deron this summer.

Let's just hope that Deron joins the team this year. I think he's the most underrated of those 4-5 "star" PGs since his numbers have taken a dip in NJ.

Even if Deron joins the team it will still be the same without somebody in the middle. Dirk finally acknowledges that.

Are centers have gotta be more agressive too, if they end up staying, Haywood can't be shooting finger rolls on Ibaka

In public, Dallas Mavericks players have been diplomatic when discussing Lamar Odom's failure to compete this season. Their truer feelings came out in a locker room vote Sunday, when they decided not to include Odom in their share of playoff money.

Absolutely understandable. In a way he let them down, so why should anybody wanna share with him?

He quit on the Mavericks. Copped out. One of his best seasons to the worst. Who's seen that coming.

Seems fair enough to me too. While one can sympathise with him due to all that's happened in his personal life in the past year and it's understandable that it would affect him on the court to some extent, he still kind of shirked his professional responsibilities. In a manner of speaking, he already received a bonus this year; being paid to stay away from the team and do his own thing.

As for the Mavericks players and the organisation itself, in my view they've handled the situation quite well. There's ample opportunity for them to throw him under the bus and call it like it is, but they've taken the high road. Good for them.

Having said that, I agree it's a good move.

The only problem in Carlisle he doesn't play young players which kinda hinders their development.

I don't know, it still comes down to the team that's assembled.

Yeah but it still takes a good coach to make that team work. Just look at the D'Antoni's Knicks when Melo returned during the season or other teams in the past that were regarded as good on paper only to not meet expectations.

D'Antoni's Suns teams didn't do too badly. The Bulls overachieved this year and last year, especially this year.

I'm not saying Carlisle isn't a good coach, far from it. I just don't think he's head and shoulders above some of the other prominent coaches in the league. I do however think that it's a very good move keeping him around.

That's the fault of the people that thought the team looked good on paper not the coach.

I still say that a team composed of Allen Iverson, Rip Hamilton, Tayshaun Prince, Antonio McDyess, Sheed Wallace, Rodney Stuckey, Jason Maxiell, Will Bynum, Kwame Brown, Arron Afflalo, Amir Johnson, and Walter Hermann is a good team on paper.
