Yeah people have said that he along with loads of top coaches like Kerr for instance run elements of the triangle but don't focus solely on it.

Thibs has history with Dolan from his days as an assistant under JVG, hopefully Dolan sees pasted that as Melo wants Thibs too, Phil wants Rambis which is why for once I'd like Dolan to over rule Phils decision. Dangerous or not.

Then Phil leaves, which means Dolan's running things again.....either way, Knicks are screwed.

Luke Walton says no to the Knicks;

Don't blame Luke at all for not wanting to leave GS for NY as he would be told how to do things Phils way instead of being allowed to put his own twist on things.

In a perfect world Jeff we would have Phil hire a coach like Thibs or Scott Brooks who know how to coach a team and then Jackson sticks to running the front office.

Is he a GM or actual coach behind the scene? If a coach figures his players are unfit to run triangle, will Phill allow it? If he's so persistent about triangle offense I am not too surprised established coaches don't want anything to do with the Knicks. Forget Thibs, was never a discussion.

It seems it's Phil's personal fight to prove triangle offense is the best ever while the Knicks are a lab rat.

Hell no, that's why Fish was fired. Phil's going to force-feed his outdated offense on the players. His stubbornness will guarantee another 30-win season.

It makes you wonder whether he will actually end up coaching the home games, as previously speculated, with a lackey to coach them on the road.

Knicks are a bigger joke than the Sixers. Sixers don't deny they suck while the Knicks still have this delusion that they are in any way a good team.

How do you feel about David Blatt? Of course, nothing may come of it.

Former Cleveland Cavaliers coach David Blatt met with New York Knicks president Phil Jackson on Monday to discuss the franchise’s coaching job, league sources told The Vertical.

Interim coach Kurt Rambis has remained a strong frontrunner to become the full-time coach, and it is unclear if the Blatt meeting was more than a token appearance in a coaching search. Jackson has been determined to continue to run his triangle offense, and Rambis has been a loyal disciple of the system.

Blatt, 59, has history with Knicks general manager Steve Mills. They played together at Princeton in the 1970s.

Wrong BS. Byron Scott is the way to go.

He'll tell KP to "man up" and it'll fix everything.

Phil Jackson is probably just offering Blatt an assistant job then he will give the HC gig to Rambis because that's how shitty our front office is.

I'll say that Blatt is encouraged to keep Rambis on as an assistant, gets canned when the Knicks struggle, then Rambis gets promoted again.

It is sad when the best player is calling them out, saying they need to go through a proper process in finding the next head coach

It is sad and it's all on Phil Jackson for all the years of complaining about Dolan this stupid stubbornness to only use "his" guys I feel is dragging us down.

He says there looking at coaches but it's no secret that he's not looking far passed Rambis who is just a terrible coach which he not only proved in Minny but his short stint in charge of the knicks.

Fuck the triangle the league isn't built for teams winning only taking long two point shots at the end of the shot clock teams are running alot more and the 3 point shot rules.

And in some categories, comparable back in the day, too. Though Rambis does have rings.

I am no nics fan but I been thinkin Vogel and Phil Jax are a good pairing as long as Vogel is triangle adaptable.

Seems like Larry Bird and Phil Jax want opposite things so perhaps Bird's trash is Jax's treasure. Bird wanted to go along with small ball trend but Vogel had George back to perimeter while two bigs roamed around paint by mid season. On the other hand Phil Jax seemingly values size greatly and likes to put sizable players at every position, evidently so from his coaching years. Second thing is offense. Vogel hasn't been a good coach on offensive end. His x and o has been questioned before. He is something like 1 for 10 when it comes to deciding under 10 sec remaining plays. Maybe he can thrive in someone else's tested offensive system under right guidance.
