My issue is still our defence, we can play great on ball team defence but then once that shot goes up we switch off and don't box out which is weird because we have so many big now.

I think we are getting out hustled but on the other hand this is pretty much 90% a new team and we need to build chemistry which won't really start till about 20 games in.

How are Lopez and Afflalo looking in that regard? Robin Lopez's known as a defensive anchor minus the rebounding. And Afflalo should be an upgrade from last year defensively.

Double A has not really played much in the preseason due to a hamstring problem but I think he will be solid on both sides of the ball but he also shows a lot of leadership on court and professionalism which when you have had JR as your 2nd go to guy it's a breath of fresh air!

As for RoLo it also turns out he has being battling a nagging injury which had being kept quite from the media (for some reason) but he does alter plenty of shots, has a post game and can hit the 15 footer so that helps a lot.

Free league pass till 3 November, yes! :) The Knicks looking good...way better than last year. Why do almost all commentators pronounce Kristaps Pro-sing-us instead of Pro-sing-is? Only the Knicks starting 5 announcer had it correct.

Carmelo Anthony: 32.6% in two games...takes way too many shots. Maybe the team would be better off without him. What do you think?

I like the effort and energy I'm seeing from the Knicks, but their backcourt couldn't guard me.

Yeah we still struggle with quick guards and Jose couldn't guard his own shadow but to be fair ATL has two of the quickest guards in the league.

Early days still and Melo hasn't played well either.

Our core has gotten a hell of a lot better that is for sure!

Carmelo found his stroke tonight.

As Clyde would say, Knicks played with wit and grit. They finished strong, with a big three by Galloway, and solid 'D'.

Not a bad start for the Knicks. Also surprised of Porzingus actually producing as a starter. His net +/- isn't half bad.

Once Afflalo comes back healthy, the Knicks should make a good push this year to make the playoffs.

Impressive road win, I'd love to make msg our strong hold again though!

Our first 9 out of 11 games are against playoff teams so it's a good test for us.

Agree we need Affalo back so that we don't need to depend on Melo scoring so much.

While the East is quite respectable at the top if everyone's healthy, the lower seeds are still more up for grabs than they are out West...at least on paper. It's not completely unthinkable.

I dont see why people would be surprised if knicks made it to the playoffs (people who actually watch NBA that is)
CLE, MIA, ATL, WSH, TOR, CHI are locks imo, that is only 6 teams leaving 7th and 8th seed up for grabs, Detroit is looking like playoff team so far too so let's say there is only 1 spot left, ORL, MIL, NY, CHA, BOS and IND (if they can get their shit together) can all make it to the playoffs and out of these teams i think Knicks can be anywhere between 1-3.

Of course this is imagining we are living in the perfect world which we arent, so few injuries here and there to the top teams and i could see Knicks going as high as 6th.

Also considering we are only few days into the season all of this is a guessing game cause no major professional sport can be predicted this early.

That's why people are sceptical. It's not uncommon for teams to string together a few wins at the beginning of the year, when everyone is shaking off rust and sorting things out, only to fall to the bottom of the standings as everyone else gets it together. The Knicks were terrible last season, and while they've made some improvements to their roster, it's not as though they pulled a Miami in 2010. I think anyone completely ruling out the possibility that they make the Playoffs is jumping the gun, but it'd be premature to call them a lock, too. I think you summed it pretty well: the last couple of seeds in the East (more so the 8th) are up for grabs with a few teams likely to be vying for those spots, and the Knicks could well be in the thick of that.

Long time Knick fans know better than to jump the gun.

Wait and see where this team is after 30 games. Tough matchup tonight vs San Antonio at the Garden.

Yep.

Spurs played last night too so hopefully we can catch them resting.

I really want the Garden to be a place teams fear to play at again.

The Knicks have to get to where they were in the mid-90s for that to happen. It starts on the defensive end.

For sure!

Defence is what lead me to becoming a knicks fan in the first place, I've always being a 3&D type of player myself and loved watching guys like Starks, Mason and Oakley go to work.

I think the knicks are doing well right now all things considered with the fact that we face 9 playoff teams out of out first 11 with melo returning from knee surgery and KP being a rookie then there is also the fact that Affalo has being out too.

Tough loss in Charlotte. I thought for sure KP's shot was good.

Can Fisher come up with a better end-of-game play than Iso-Melo? Damn.

Don't you Knicks fans love this Knicks squad this year? They may not be good but they seem to give it all out there and they seem to have hunger and intensity carrying them every night so far. Lopez and Porzingus particularly are my favorites.

I love the team but not the coaching.

I thought sasha played really well in Toronto then Affalo comes back plays 28 minutes and Sasha gets a DNP

Sasha sucks. This guy did not even have a job in the nba in the last 4 years, and wasn't very good when he did.

Zinger making Lakers second guess their pick already. Russell already looking like he doesn't belong

Sasha Vusuckbitch? Wasn't he shooting something like 30% for the season? Working Afflalo back into the line up is way more important than trying to get that nobody going.
