Ahhhh it really does feel post draft night being a knicks fan today lol

I feel your pain Jeff I really do but for me the disappointment went after we failed to get a top 3 pick in the lottery.

I am intrigued to see what Grant can do for us.

Those two late season wins killed their chances of a top 3 pick. Fuck....

Yeah they took us our of the top 3 but as this has being discussed many times over among knicks fans that they players on our roster were mainly free agents trying to get another contract so they are the only ones not on board with the Tank.

It sucks but it is what it is, I feel I have being through worst times over the years than now as we can on have hope in our draft choices and we have cap space too.

Being a Knick fan is like being Sonny Corleone at that toll booth.

It sure does take up a lot of energy being a knicks fan, that's why I have to be a "Glass half full" type of guy and using make sure my glass is topped up while I watch the Garden Faithful

Report: Carmelo Anthony displeased with draft
Carmelo Anthony reportedly reached out to former Knick Tim Hardaway Jr. late Thursday night to express his displeasure with Phil Jackson's draft night moves.
Melo reportedly is upset that the Knicks drafted a project in Kristaps Porzingis. The report adds Melo said "we have to wait three years for this guy?" While Anthony would like immediate help to his current team, it would take more than a few major moves for the Knicks to emerge as a contender. Melo is 31 years old, and fresh off signing a five-year contract with the Knicks. It looks like he's going to have to practice some patience or maybe the thought of a trade is a possibility.

Re: The Knicks Thread....

I dont believe there is much in this really and if there is then Melo knows where the door is.

He didnt get along with Timmy and if he is upset then its only because we are not looking for a "win now" quick fix as usual, instead we are looking at the future for a change.

Re: The Knicks Thread....

Wasn't Melo's relationship with Hardaway jr something similar to LBJ to Rio Chalmers?

Possibly we'll hear about MElo put on trade block in a near future it seems. I can't imagine winning with this roster.

Re: The Knicks Thread....

Sat Jun 27, 2015 3:56 am

Yeah they argued during a game and had to be kept apart in the locker room once.

Like i said before i think Melo is more about the business then the winning when all is said and done sure he wants to win but he will stay in NY for the money making opportunity's.

Re: The Knicks Thread....

If Carmelo was about winning, he would've gone to Chicago. But he's more about the 'brand', so fuck him too. I don't want to hear shit from him.

Melo now supports the draft picks/trade.

Surprise surprise.

Ouch. That's worse than "sleeping with the fishes" reference

Carmelo Anthony or Phil Jackson. Who do Knicks fans hate more?

Re: The Knicks Thread....

I think the jury is out on both of them, fans want Melo to get on board and get back to that REAL allstar form and not just that guy who was voted in by the fans.

As for Phil we need to see this "plan" take full effect, I feel we lost in the Tyson Chandler trade and we also pretty much just gave away Shumpert and JR for a couple of 2nd round picks so a lot of fans were looking for a strong pick I the draft.

Every fan in the nba is scared of drafting the next euro mystery man and knicks fans are some of the most restless out there so no surprise that the fans are wondering what the hell Jackson is thinking but it's clearly a rebuild.

People have always said you can't rebuild in NY, gm's have always looked to plug holes or looking for a quick fix, I think Phil I'd looking at the bigger picture now.

Similar to Towns, I think Porzidsig impressed scouts in his workout. I honestly think he's too much of a risk for the possible pay off at #4 in this year's draft.

So whom would you Knicks fans wanted to see drafted? (or wanted a trade?)

I'm tired of Phil Jackson already and his "I-know-more-than-all-of-you" act. Phil didn't expect to rebuild this year. He gave Anthony that ridiculous contract (typical Knicks), and claimed NY was a playoff team. Only when the season went sour did the genius decide to rebuild. So far I'm not impressed.

Phil talking out of both sides of his mouth. He'd make a great politician

Do you guys think the only way out of this mess is for a true rebuild??? I am not a Cubs fan by no means but I will admit Epstein's moves are starting to payoff. It took 5 years along with an assortment of embarrassments like fans selling tickets on stubhub for a nickel but here they are contending for the playoffs with a roster loaded with top prospects

For me it was Mudiay, Winslow or trade down for Frank the Tank.

Zinger is years away from having any type of impact in the league but let's not forget that it took Dirk 2 years to find his groove

I have a good feeling about this kid they just drafted. They said that he wanted to be in the NBA so he learned English. and to be honest he speaks English very well with very little accent. I mean I guess it's more than just learning the language but he already knows the slang and seems to have a good understanding of the NBA and how it works. He's not expecting to come in and dominate. I dunno, he seems like a good person in general.

Re: The Knicks Thread....

Sun Jun 28, 2015 7:34 pm

In such an offensive minded league like he NBA, where people don't know what defense is, at least in the regular season, I think Porzingis will have impact from the beginning. He won't put star numbers for sure, but he scored over 12 points in the spainsh league, where defense in 5x harder than the nba. 12 points are a lot, specially considering top scorers score 18 as much.

Re: The Knicks Thread....

Sun Jun 28, 2015 7:56 pm

In terms of rookie numbers I'd like to see Zinger average at least 12 & 5 his first year.

Bargs averaged that his rookie year as the number 1 pick.

Now that Rondo's stock hit rock bottom, I think the Knicks should go after him and sign him to a short term deal.

Porzigus could possibly benefit from playing with Rondo and so could Carmelo since Rondo has played well with Pierce before. I think it'd be a risk worth taking.

At the right price I'd take a chance on Rondo but only for around 6-8 mil per.
