I read somewhere that two factors played significantly in Jerry West winning Finals MVP. One is that the Celtics really played well as a team so none of them really stood out and second is that West played brilliantly well.

As said before, Allen and Pierce stood out for Boston. While Kobe's game is not that brilliant right now as compared to what he can do.

kobe might be the main reason the lakers are gonna lose at this point lol

I also watched games 3 and 4 covered by the local commentators and god they're really riding Kobe's dick. Everytime Kobe makes an assist or a shot they gush how good of a teammate/player he is. It's just a pass to an open teammate for cripes sake!

I hate the local commentary here...I remembered way back Lakers vs Pistons series, Quinito and that other guy, even though the Lakers are losing, they still talk about them...I remembered Quinito saying "pwede pa yan" (they can still do it)" after Kobe hit a 3 pointer on Game 5 where the Pistons clearly won it...I love my cable subscription

Anyways, back on topic, yeah, I wouldn't want to think that it's over right now, but I'm just confident that the C's will win it in Games 5 or 6...Although it's possible, it's stupid for them to let this even come to Game 7....

As for the MVP, i'll go with Allen if C's won.

That was Chino Trinidad, the league commissioner with radar ears.

I hate them too, they could've left the ABC commentary as it is or just send better people rather than them. That's why I hate watching the Finals and the All-Star Game.

touch wasn't right word, more hit or contact....depends what kind of contact....either way, anything is better than a wide open layup....I seem to recall Allen missing a couple of FT's during the game, so you never know, make him earn it....he probably hits both, but better than an open layup....

i have to work tonight... so i miss the game. i hope L.A. can pull off a win tonight. so the series doesnt end while i am working..... that would suck.

I want the Celtics to win the series, but not tonight. I want them to win and celebrate at home, not like the last two years.
So Lakers, win tonight!

Kobe turns to Harry Potter for help

Still hope Lakers can extend the series as this has been one of the best I've seen in a while. But at least the Celtic's Big 3 will finally reap the rewards of their dedication after those disappointing seasons and coming up short countless times on mediocre and sub-par teams.

Mon Jun 16, 2008 6:51 am

What the fuck?

I do hope the Lakers win it. I think this will go to Game 7, and at least 1 OT.

Mon Jun 16, 2008 7:56 am

If the Celtics do win the series as history suggests they will, Allen and Pierce both edge out Garnett as frontrunners for Finals MVP with the honours going to whomever has the best performance in the series clinching victory. My guess is it will be Pierce in the event of a Celtics victory.

So Celtics made history by making the biggest finals comeback ever, so...how about LA making some history of their own?

One possession at a time. :)

Mon Jun 16, 2008 8:10 am

If they came back from 3-1 to win it all then I'd say that would trump the Game 4 comeback.

Mon Jun 16, 2008 9:08 am

I'll miss the game today, since it's my first day at work. But I'll wear green.

There's a reason students hate teachers! :x (I still love you though.)

For the trump Lakers go Andrew, one possession at a time.

I think the lakers could win 2 more in a row and make it a 7 game series...infact..thats what I want to happen. However...the last laugh will belong to the celtics regardless.

Dick Bavetta, the referee who worked one of the games Tim Donaghy alleged was rigged, is scheduled to officiate Game 5 of the NBA Finals on Sunday night.

Looks like the Lakers will win tonight. :D

Mon Jun 16, 2008 11:55 am

Deja Vu?
Lakers jump on the early lead and now it's down to single digits.
Haha and Mihm was in the game for a couple minutes and he logs:
1 Airball
2 Fouls both against Pierce
1 Turnover on an inbounds pass

Mon Jun 16, 2008 12:46 pm

Either lakers don't really want a championship or boston has finally become the best team in the NBA head over heels. If they can dominate the lakers like this...then I don't see why they wouldn't be able to repeat next year barring injuries.

Mon Jun 16, 2008 1:29 pm

4 more to go, lets go baby lets finish off another comeback

Mon Jun 16, 2008 1:48 pm

Damn.. watching this game is nerve-racking.

edit---

oh man that faggot bryant.

Mon Jun 16, 2008 1:53 pm

it would be nice if garnett could remember that he is in the finals and this is why he is paid a shit load of money. you know maybe he will start playing basketball? oh well the team cant keep letting the lakers get off to a huge start and expect a win, good game by the lakers

Age, Andrew Bynum, other teams stepping up.

Mon Jun 16, 2008 2:06 pm

Yeah Garnett really needs to step up his game. he is not performing at his level. Whats with all that shit hanging off his fingers too, no wonder he cant make a free throw.

Lakers struggled hard for this win....they'd better start preparing for a comeback next year with bynum.

Mon Jun 16, 2008 2:28 pm

How bad is the injury to Perk anyway?

Anyway, I think the Celtics will surely be hitting hard on game 6. This series isn't turning out to be the series I was dreaming about. The refereeing has been suspect all throughout.
