Great trade for Denver but Philly blew it, they should of got more. Billy King and 76ers Management are a bunch of douches. They are so fucken incompetent. Billy King sure wants membership to the shitbox NBA GM club which has current members like Isiah "fuckhead" Thomas who is their president, Rob Babcock, Kevin McHale and a whole bunch of other rejects.

I'm not sure it's such a bad deal for Philly. It's not like they've been any threatening for the last couple of years, a big change like that could be what they need, and a real PG like Miller might be a good fit for them (and maybe Iggy will start scoring more). Their main interrogation should be about Webber now...Are they gonna give him more minutes and allow him to be the offensive threat he used to be...well if he stays healthy of course.

Anyway this trade is ugly, how the hell are the Nuggets gonna survive without a real point-guard? Ballhogs at the 1, 2 and 3 doesn't really go well, me thinks.

In 2004-2005 season, when Amare was becoming a man, there was Steve Nash putting up the alley-oops for Amare and Marion. Now they have added Diaw into the mix... The parts are starting to click and both Diaw and Nash are setting up the big finishes for Marion and Stoudemire... Absolutely no team can match that, no team... Now with Denver having AI, JR and CA being the main guns and all perimeter players they will really suffer from lacking that player with pass-first mentality... Phoenix is starting two players that love to set other people up and now Denver is starting 0 people who love to set people up. How does that compare????????? I don't get it.

Denver will run and try to run as much as possible and with the perimeter guys they will have great success with it, but this combination of three scorers isn't even as good as the one in New Jersey... And three perimeter scorers will have trouble in the half-court sets. NJN has struggled hard this season, but even their 3 perimeter players have one with a pass-first mentality...

But who knows... Maybe AI will be willing to dish. Maybe Carmelo is willing to go into the post and be a post presense and let AI handle the ball... Maybe JR learns to play nice with the big boys... And maybe the hell will freeze over... Maybe the cows learn how to fly... And maybe, just maybe Denver will crash and burn with this! But in any case, like Stein said on ESPN, this will be must see television one way or the other! And that is good enough for me!

Yeah, in terms of offensive efficiency, they don't come close to the Suns.

100% agree on what you have said about the offense and no one being a pass first player and that stuff. And although I had been a Denver fan since they got Camby and Melo, I do also think that the types of players do not fit.
But I think New Jersey is not the right comparison, since they lack of a dominant big man (Krstic is developing well though, but honestly he is not dominant) while the Nuggets have at least Camby at the moment, Nene is also quite good and K-Mart ... well he can be good if he is not injured but I think he is the weakest of those three since he has not developed any postgame. Nuggets will be fun to watch I think. But they now have the team with the "best ballhogs" of the league. I hope JR Smith can step up when he is needed and stop jacking up silly threes, that is so hard to watch. We will see, but as efficient and good as the Suns, NEVER !

It's the system which has to work not only the players. You can see that especially in Utah, Orlando, Phoenix and Detroit right now. All of them were considered to lose more often. Utah went from a mediocre team to a top-team. Phoenix was considered to even miss the playoffs without Amare last season. Detroit was said to be mediocre without Ben Walalce and Orlando was even a lottery team. It's not the amount of superstars which gave them their success. It's system and teamwork. And it takes time to develop a system which perfectly suits your players.

I honestly think, the only teams who have a chance of winning the Championship this season are Dallas, Phoenix and San Antonio in the West and Detroit and Cleveland in the East. Neither team (except for Phoenix) has a huge amount of stars. They just have a perfect system for their players.

So a lineup consisting of Camby, Martin, Anthony, Smith and Iverson may look impressive on paper but I honestly don't think this may work in real life. In 1-2 years the Nuggets may be a contender, when they are adapted to a system in which 2 superstars and one rising star may co-exist. But for now they are nothing more than a playoff lock to me.

That is right, although in my opinion the Jazz in the West and the Heat in the East are missing.
Heat will benefit from Shaqs comeback which should be this season and will be as much a contender as last year, where they made it.

And Jazz, maybe a suprise for the most (including me) but they have everything a team needs. Good shooters, passers, defenders, inside threat, and what you said and what is most important, a working system. I think we could see them making the conference finals.

You honestly can't say who's gonna be in the Eastern Conference Championship this year, Every team is playing inconsistent!! Even If Miami gets Shaq back, I don't they will be in the Finals. The East is gonna have a surpise team in the playoffs I think!!

These are just my picks and I can't imagine any other team than Detroit, Cleveland (and maybe Miami) to make it. Winning in the regular season and in the playoffs are two different situations. And I can't see any other team in the East beating Detroit or Cleveland in a 7 game series.

But I agree with you to a certain extend, the East is going to have 1-2 surprise teams in the playoffs.

Not only that, they get expiring contracts that they can get rid of, have substantial salary cap space to sign a star player. They can rebuild quickly in the next couple of years with their young core of Korver and Iggy. It's worth the trade if you ask me.

I really don't think Philly is dead forever now. Of course, it's gonna take some adjustments (and some players to stay healthy), but they'd been stuck for a while by now, whether AI was playing or not, going from (sometimes) brilliant to (mostly) disappointing...
As for Denver, that's such a huge structure change that a playoff spot is definitely not guaranteed. AI will have to change his role, even with Melo gone for a month or so (and definitely after he comes back), Camby will miss a bunch of games as usual, K-Mart won't be back this year,...
Rosters that look amazing on paper don't always turn out that great (ask the Knicks).

There is no question about Philadelphia making the right choice. Take a look at the last seasons and you see that they did not have any success at all. It just did not fit. When they had the defense concept with Larry Brown as a coach and players like Dikembe Mutombo or Aaron McKie it was okay to have AI scoring and no real support on offense as long as the defense worked.
But the last years the 76ers had neither a good defense nor a very good offense. Igoudala is a player they can count on for the next years. His jumper is getting better and better, but he has not been a big scoring threat so far. Korver can shoot threes, maybe one of the best pure shooters in the league. Dalembert can give you some inside presence. And do not forget about Andre Miller now. One of the best playmakers the league next to Nash and Kidd. He will find those role players and they will hit their open shots. I think this will fit more than the last years with Iverson.
What I ask myself is whats gonna happen to Webber´s role on the team. Will he be the main guy ? As far as I know Coach Cheeks does not like him. But he is still a great scorer when he wants to. Would be cool to see him as the main scorer and the others filling in when needed. Miller will be a big factor to make these role players worth even more.
