Put him in same basket with Wade and Rose. Bum knees.

He's in first year of max-max contract, isn't he? Oops.

Still waiting for the Knicks to make a big move. I hope they make a trade for Greg Monroe. He would perfectly w/ the triangle and probably would be cheaper than Gasol.

Lol no way.
Detroit will NEVER give up Monroe (by choice) now that Smith is gone. The Knicks don't have assets to make a splash. They have Hardaway, Shumpert, and Dalembert. Those are the only remotely nice assets on a team that NYK would be willing to give up. Calderon obviously is nice, but they'd be stupid to give him away.

They may lose him in the off season though, he is an unrestricted free agent.

They lost every asset now, lol. Hardaway is only attractive because of his scoring, he doesn't provide much of anything else. Shumpert was traded and Dalembert was waved.
The new Lou Amundson-Lance Thomas-Alex Kirk era begins. Lol I think the Knicks have the most white guys on their roster now- Travis Wear, Amundson, Alex Kirk, Jose Calderon, Prigioni..

I still think they should've included Dalembert in trade maybe they would have got a better pull from the trade and also the thunder first rounder should have went to Knicks.

Guess what. Jackson saw my post.

All these guys are going to see bump in their minutes at the very least. Calderon is being shopped along with Dalembert. Jackson in his first season is trying to match SVG's greatness. Unlike SVG he's not trying to win now with these moves but is clearing out the roster to rebuild. I wouldn't be surprised to see disgruntled Melo being a goner within next year.

Knicks Owner James Dolan Responds to E-Mail from Upset Fan

New York Knicks owner James Dolan has one message to disenfranchised Knicks fans: Go root for the Brooklyn Nets.

Timothy Burke of Deadspin acquired a recent correspondence from Dolan and an unnamed Knicks fan—referred to as the father of filmmaker Aaron Bierman—in which the owner responds to the fan's email and criticism:

On Fri, Jan 23, 2015 at 8:15 PM, James Dolan

Mr Bierman

You are a sad person. Why would anybody write such a hateful letter. I am.just guessing but ill bet your life is a mess and you are a hateful mess. What have you done that anyone would consider positive or nice. I am betting nothing. In fact ill bet you are negative force in everyone who comes in contact with you. You most likely have made your family miserable. Alcoholic maybe. I just celebrated my 21 year anniversary of sobriety. You should try it. Maybe it will help you become a person that folks would like to have around. In the mean while start rooting.for the Nets because the Knicks dont want you.

Respectfully

James Dolan

Rolling my eyes at people defending him in the comments on that article. Granted, we don't see the fan's letter, and it may not have been particularly nice. But that response is just juvenile and embarrassing.

Well, at least in that case know for sure that the fan's words were pretty hostile. Still, never a good idea to stoop to that level.

It wasn't hostile at all, Andrew, it was stone cold truth. I've been saying the same thing for years. Here's the email:

Just to clarify, I was talking about the fan's Tweet to Melo there. He arguably had a valid point too, but he kind of brought that response on himself. All the same, best not to respond to Tweets like that, I reckon.

As for the letter, it wasn't exactly friendly, but the sentiment was understandable and Dolan's response was just plain juvenile and unprofessional. He too could've chosen not to respond, or chosen his words more carefully, so that he doesn't come off looking like an immature brat. I see people in the comments on the article I posted citing freedom of speech, which is always the go to argument whenever someone puts their foot in their mouth. No one's saying Dolan isn't allowed to write an email like that if he really wants, or that he should be jailed for it, or anything else that freedom of speech is about and protects. The argument is not that he can't, but that he shouldn't be writing emails like that; at least, not if he wants to retain any dignity for himself or the franchise.

I feel for you and other long suffering Knicks fans, Jeffx. I mean, the Bulls have their fair share of dysfunction, but they also seem to be able to pull it together, and the Jordan & Pippen years were obviously kind to Bulls fans like myself. Even these past few years - Rose's injuries aside - there's been hope, good moments, and overachieving that the team and us fans can enjoy and be proud of. Obviously, I'm going to think of the Bulls' fortunes before those of the Knicks, but you can't not appreciate their importance to the league. The prestige, the tradition, the history, the huge market that is New York, the dedicated fanbase...well, what else can I say. Condolences, man. You all deserve better.

Dolan will always be Dolan, Andrew. Look at his history and the way he treats his employees. He IS an immature brat. Which is why this marriage between he and Phil will eventually dissolve. He'll blow up Phil's plan like he did Walsh's.

CARMELO ANTHONY TO SHUT DOWN AFTER ASG
http://cdn16.castfire.com/audio/303/211 ... Tj2R4ZOHX9

He's got knee issues. Perhaps it's a smart idea and come back healthy next season. Too bad Wade can't do this because his knees aren't jesus-like, can't come back from death so might as well push forward and make the playoffs barely.

If his knees are in rough enough shape that he truly can't play, then it seems like a good call to me. If he were healthy, I'd advocate playing out the season (at least until the final week or so) in the name of competition and continuing to develop chemistry with whomever is going to be a Knick next year, even with this season already down the drain. Since it is a lost cause and he's playing hurt though, might as well pack it in.

I read that Amar'e is considering negotiating a buyout, too.

Carmelo Anthony will opt to have surgery on his knee and will not play for the remainder of the season according to Marc Stein of ESPN.

Cool. Too bad for the Knicks fans but it's probably for the best.

As I said before, if he were healthy enough to play, it would have been admirable for him to keep playing through until the last couple of weeks of the season. However, with the season well and truly a write-off, and surgery in the cards, best to get it out of the way now so that he's ready for the start of next year.

Phil needs to STFU and stay off social media. The last thing he should be doing is ripping this team. He's the one who put this D-League squad together.....the buck stops with YOU, Phil.
