No MRI was needed. Probably just a contusion , day-to-day. At least that's what they're saying now

Damn. I thought it was an ACL injury.

Good news. The last thing we need is another young star going down with a serious knee injury.

Dirk is now 8th in the all-time scoring list.

MCW, 2 for 20 shooting, and 6 turnovers against TreyBurke/Exum/RodneyHood/Ingles backcourt.

Couldn't watch the game (it's probably for the best), but nights like those are to be expected every once in a while this season. MCW can't shoot, neither can his teammates except for Covington, he forces up a ton of bad shit against his defender and help defense and has a bad night to boot - that's the result.
All too often, after a failed play, MCW gets the ball back standing beyond the arc with a defender in his face and about 6-7 seconds on the shot clock and is asked to create something out of nothing. He's not very good at creating something out of nothing, especially when the opposing defense knows all too well he'll be the one trying to do that and can focus on stopping him.
Terrible performance without a doubt, but I'm not very worried about it. When the Sixers more closely resemble an NBA team with an actual offensive system and some NBA-level offensive players in place and MCW posts a game like that, then it's time to worry. The only thing that has me slightly unsettled is his continued sky-high turnover numbers, even in better games. Having them go up significantly from last year has me thinking that could also be caused by the team having no spacing and the defense being allowed to take away passing lanes without worrying about shooters punishing them for doing so, but that's the optimistic version.

I love the swish sound of the Dallas court's net...

Today's Reggie Evans should be able to make it to Shaqting a Fool.
It's great to see Granger having a night like this. But the loss was a stinker against a bad team.

At least Hassan Whiteside had a solid night. Hope to see more of Hassan and Granger going forward.

I really like what's going on in Milwaukee. They're loaded with young talent, and they play hard. I guess Kidd knew what he was doing - right now, the Bucks have a better upside than the Nets.

Not even a mention of two of the top three teams in the league having a rare matchup couple days ago. Raptors and Blazers.
Both teams have shown their defense is good along with their offense. They are legitimate threat in the playoffs.

I remember that game. Didn't really watch it but looked like Lowry was getting better of Lillard until 4th/OT where clutch Lillard came alive and took over. Damn.

It's awesome that after Roy's knees disintegrated, we managed to get another legit superstar not two years later. Despite a couple misfires in the draft, Olshey has managed to build a passable bench, and the team plays defense now. It'll take health and a lot of luck to win it all, but I wouldn't be shocked if this team made the WCF. Seems like it could be anybody's year - we just have to avoid Memphis.

The league seems as wide open as it's ever been, at least in recent memory. Not that sustained excellence by certain teams and having consistent frontrunners for the championship have made the NBA completely boring or anything, but the unpredictability this season is quite fun.

I expect Thomas Robinson to explode some time.
It seems that it's not gonna happen this season too.

He plays too much on emotion which is reflected in his up and down performances. Also he can't finish at all near the hoop unless its an open dunk or layup. His post moves are too wild and mid-range not reliable. He is a really good rebounder and can give you some big time blocks/dunks to shift the momentum to your team but other than that he doesn't have a reliable skill.
EDIT: To add to that he is shooting a career low 40% FTs this season. Big time handicap.

Is this a PG era or what? Russell Westbrook has entered the MVP discussion and has been possibly the best PG in 19 games he played.
1) Russell Westbrook
2) Stephen Curry
3) Damien Lillard
4) Chris Paul
5) Kyle Lowry
Lol @ Irving and Wall. So overrated. Hey, where are all those folks that were preaching how Irving's better than Wade for LBJ?

Are you kitten me?

Meanwhile, Durant's been beasting after he returned from his recent injury. OKC's 9-2 with Durant available on the floor and 8-1 with Westbrook and him both active. It's gonna be fun seeing OKC comeback in the standings after the All-Star Break.

Since Josh Smith was waived:
Pistons 4-0
Rockets 3-3 ( just trashed the Heat today)
Sun Jan 04, 2015 6:24 pm
After Josh Smith is traded, Hawks;
2014-15: 24-8
Mon Jan 05, 2015 1:45 am
I agree with the above; Thomas Robinson will explode. He simply needs more time to develop. Maybe he'll be the next JJ Hickson, but I'd say that's a decent way to go throug an NBA career.
