GO HEAT WADE IS CLUTCH

poor howard

Mon Jun 19, 2006 2:34 pm

wow Josh Howard just pulled a Chris WEbber move..

Mon Jun 19, 2006 2:34 pm

what a ridiculous call there with 1.9 seconds left... Wade got too much superstar treatment on that drive (N)

howard blows it with a stupid timeout call - way to go dallas, choke again...

Mon Jun 19, 2006 2:35 pm

I was rooting for Miami...but man...that was SOOOOO not a foul at the end that allowed Wade to shoot the game-winning free throws.

I felt so bad for Josh Howard...looked like he was about to cry after he called that bad timeout

Serves Avery right for smacking him in the testies!

Mon Jun 19, 2006 2:35 pm

superstar treatment? He was fouled like 3 times before it was called. Do you people even know basketball?

Agreed on that last foul. But I give Wade ALOT OF CREDIT. I don't know if I can say the same about the entire team because it seem like Miami went to Wade on every possession except for a couple. Let's see how mad Dallas will be for revenge when they go back home.

Thats basically pussification then. I didn't see alot of reaching going on when they were playing Wade. Sure there was some contact, but of course he is going to get contact when trying to drive to the basket being doubled.

Edit for the 3rd time  Wade really does deserve this, thats the only reason why I wouldn't mind Miami winning and wouldn't really hate it even though some of the other players on the team would get a ring too. I expect Dallas to come through though. After seeing Wade in the Finals, I think I can put him in the top 3 for best in the league, maybe EVEN HIGHER. The last time I seen someone dominate like that was back with MJ.

Yohance - did you watch the play, smartass? It definitely did not merit a foul being called.. ESPECIALLY with 1 second left in a huge NBA finals game.

Wade definitely played a great game, very clutch performance. I really want Dallas to pull through, but Wade deserves this so much...

WTF? You think he's going to get a call in the final seconds of a game, down 1, while dribbling through a bunch of defenders? Sorry, but the refs aren't going to award him for being a ball-hog at that point in the game.

was that before or after his backcourt violation?

wade is the new MJ, if he dont make contact, the refs call it anyway.

Mon Jun 19, 2006 2:39 pm

Hey, so it was a doubtful call. But it was the same when Shaq "fouled" Howard moments earlier..GO HEAT (Y) 8-)

Mon Jun 19, 2006 2:40 pm

HUGE basket by GP at the end, but Wade was clutch. I mean he's the go-to guy, Dallas went to Dirk late in the game too, but he happened to find his teammates open. I don't blame the Heat for going to Wade because he was getting a bucket almost every time and if not, he was getting to the line. It's not like they would've gone to Shaq because the Mavs would've fouled him.

uh I think the NBA changed the rule a year or two ago so you can inbound into the backcourt. This ain't NBA Live

You can throw the ball in the backcourt on the inbounds pass

Mon Jun 19, 2006 2:42 pm

Payton is one of my favorite players.. :D He has great fundamentals.

Dirk just reminded me of Scottie Pippen... kicking all that equipment after the game.. :scold:

What is all this Josh Howard nonsense? They showed the replay before Wade's shot and Avery Johnson was signaling for a timeout, too. It's not just his fault.

i stand by my prediction of miami in 6 :D its amazing watching how much shaq changes the game even at this point in his career. gary payton is the new robert horry! howard lost the game for the mavs despite playing great for the majority of it; 2 missed free throws, a stupid timeout, christ - cuban is going to trade him in the offseason if dallas doesn't rebound.... which they won't  time for shaq to get that coveted 4th ring and make a great out of another guard.

You can inbound into backcourt.

but you cant inbound and jump in the air, catch it and go over the line.

No. Avery wanted the timeout after the 2nd free throw - notice how he kept signaling it with two fingers. It seems that Howard either misinterpreted it and called timeout by accident right then, or maybe he was "talking with his hands" with Avery.

I'm talking about when he was dribbling through 3 defenders...

Ever notice how Terry scores 30+ and its meh, nice game. but when wade does it the announcers praise him like he is a god?

Mon Jun 19, 2006 2:49 pm

Anyways...I hope this doesn't define Josh Howard's career, like the infamous Chris Webber timeout. I mean c'mon..what were the chances that the Mavs were going to score with 1.9 seconds left anyway?

Mon Jun 19, 2006 2:49 pm

despite Josh Howard having a great game up until last couple of minutes, it's just too hard to look past going 0-2 from FT & calling the stupidiest timeout in the NBA ever....Josh Howard (N)

guess my original 4-2 Heat prediction might come true (N)

at the mo, Mavs don't deserve it....to choke in game 3 & 5 shows that they're not there yet (N)

For the second year in a row, Game 5 of the Finals goes into overtime and turns out to be the game of the series. No matter who won that game, the way it went in the fourth quarter and the overtime period it was destined to be a great game. Just an incredible shootout during that stretch. I believe that's also the first game Miami has won in this year's Playoffs are trailing at the half.

While the Heat have the advantage of going up 3-2 and having two chances to close out the series, you can't count the Mavericks out. Not with the way they play at home. No team can truly afford to be down 3-2 in a Playoff series but it's hardly inconceivable for the Mavericks to win two straight at home.
