Spurs drop out of the Playoffs, beat the odds to win the lottery, get the next Tim Duncan, begin another two decades of being an elite team. You heard it here first.

Unfortunate for Butler, only good thing to come out of this are the Thibs memes being brought out again.

They say Jimmy B could be back by the playoffs....that's good news.

Definitely promising. Whenever he does come back, hopefully he doesn't have lingering issues, a la Derrick Rose. Obviously it's not as serious as Rose's worst injuries, at least with that prognosis, but I'd hate to see another star's career derailed.

I guess it depends on the surgery he has, but I would not recommend the "quick snip" method like Brandon Roy and had. Artest had it too but he was at the end of his career. So many years left for Butler, no need to mortgage the future for the present

Didn't Westbrook have that same procedure, though?

tbf to Roy he already had 3-4 knee surgeries even before he reached the NBA, it was an accumulation of those ‘quick snips’ rather than the method of partial/total removal of the meniscus.
Chris Paul had an entire meniscus removed at a younger age than Butler yet Paul is still playing well today despite only having one and a half knee.
If the report is true that Butler will be back this season he definitely opted to have the quick snip and will have the damaged part of the meniscus removed rather than have it repaired like Westbrook and Blake Griffin did.
EDIT: turns out the source of that report about Butler came from himself loool, telling people that he’ll be back just in time for the playoffs. He hasn't even taken a MRI yet to know the severity of his meniscus tear.

guys what should be done about zaza pachulia?
Sun Feb 25, 2018 5:42 pm
It's getting to the point where it's basically impossible to give him the benefit of the doubt. Much as the league started taking action against Bruce Bowen a decade ago, I think they need to do something here. There's playing physical, which is fine, and then there's playing dirty, which isn't. Sliding a foot under someone who's landing, tripping people and very blatantly collapsing on top of them in a way that's intended to cause further injury is not basketball.

Banned from the league. Delladova is another one. Just because he has a chipmunk face doesn't mean he is innocent. Dirtbags.

zaza is a piece of shit and i dont buy this shit with nicks foot dragging zaza down. it amazes me how everyone talks about how massive nba players are yet a slight breeze seems to be able to blow them over

Seems he's trying to paint Westbrook as a crybaby. I've also seen suggestions that Thunder fans are hypocrites, due to past incidents involving Steven Adams and Nick Collison. Thing is, even if that's true, none of that changes Zaza's history of questionable and blatantly dirty moments, and this was the latest in a long line of said questionable and blatantly dirty moments. Whataboutism doesn't change anything; the league needs to do something.

What happened?
Either way his antics did ruin a potentially great and competitive playoff series last year
Mon Feb 26, 2018 4:28 pm
I feel like he does something like this every time he plays OKC. Last time he nearly took out Paul George's legs with a dangerous flop.
Then there was that time he slapped Westbrook in the face whilst fouling him, before standing over him like the fake tough guy he is.

I just saw the video and that makes me a little mad. I mean, it's one thing to accidentally hurt someone but to go out and try to get an edge by injuring an opponent is not right. You are putting someone else through pain and potentially taking money out of their wallet for your own gain. Also, how much of a prick must you be to call yourself a champion if you took out the competition not by skill or talent but by brute force
Mon Feb 26, 2018 8:45 pm
That's Zaza for you.

Worst thing that happened after that is some are still defending what Zaza did, calling it "accidental."
