Andrew wrote:Howard said he was disappointed that, last February, after the Magic acquired Tobias Harris in a trade, the team granted Harris' request to wear No. 12, Howard's old number.
"I just think that despite whatever happened, there was a lot of things that I did and that we did as a team, and that number was special down there," Howard said. "And I was a little bit upset about that."
I guess it's fair enough for him to feel that way.
No, it's not.
I don't care who you are, whining about your jersey not being retired is just stupid. Rob Rose was quite upset with Townsville for not retiring his, has a far better case than Dwight, and was still incapable of coming across as anything other than a narcissistic douche.

It's fair enough in that he's entitled to his point of view...as are we on the situation and his attitude, of course.

No, it's not.
You're not allowed to have an opinion on Dwight Howard being a whiny bitch.

What i said made perfect sense. Is English even your first language? Are you even American? How long have you been watching basketball? Since 2000? Heat fan since 84? lol..The heat were an expansion team in the 88-89 season. You're probably some Filipino kid who started watching basketball when Yao Ming made it popular in Asia. I'm a born and raised die hard Houston sports fan. Ive lived in Los Angeles and San Diego before and i know exactly what real Lakers fans are like and what obnoxious bandwagon kids are like. That experience alone is enough to point you out as a bandwagon Heat fan. Heat fan sine 84..haha gtfoh with that BS...
As far as Howard is concerned. That jersey thing is pathetic. He's overly sensitive and i will admit having hated him in the past when he did all his stupid childish antics. I get it, he's a "fun and bubbly" personality. But, its annoying to me. Luckily he hasn't done it much in his stay in Houston. I do however have to root for him no matter what as long as he wears my beloved Rockets uniform and colors. He's embraced the city and everyone here in Houston is loving it. We treat our stars good here unless you flat out are pathetic like Matt Schaub. He's going to be happy and at peace here in Houston which can only mean a very beastly Dwight in game. BUT, if he never regains 2009 form, it's all good. James Harden is the real leader of this team and will carry us, so a 75% of prime Dwight is good enough to get us to the promised land imo.

You idiot Filipinos don't even root for Yao Ming and are into basketball way even before Yao Ming or Magic and Bird became popular. If you're going to stereotype people might as well do it right.

That point is really only worth making if someone tries to sue or arrest him. Which nobody is.
Is he legally entitled to be...well, entitled? Sure. Is he in any way being even slightly reasonable? Not even close.

It's reasonable for him to be privately disappointed by it. He has his reasons, subjective though they may be and lacking a strong argument as to why Orlando shouldn't make #12 available. When he starts talking about it publicly then he does cross that line and starts being unreasonable, I certainly agree there. It does make him look gauche, petty, whiny, entitled and all those things.

You forgot "retard". But I'll look the other way... this time!

There are certainly plenty of colourful adjectives to choose from there.
