I like Portland for some reason. I play them in NBA 2K series quite often. Roy/Aldridge make a nice combination and then you have Webster/Outlaw, Frye and Jack...Oden is there too.

It's going to be a fun ball club to watch.

Plus I like their jerseys, they have nice home jerseys, aways and alternates too. Watching them play LA in the past, I guess I've come to like the ballclub.

Btw, your signature is a bit of an asshole.

I think they'll struggle early in the season until they used to playing with Oden. But when it comes together, the sky's the limit for those youngsters. I see them heating up around January and making a big push for the playoffs.

No, no, I meant the size, not the guys themselves. It was too big, perhaps something smaller with the players of your choice.

Maybe a signature request.

i dont really see how they will be set, they way overachieved for a stretch there last season and i guess thats reason to be hyped about next season but i dont really see them as going anywhere, first round exit at best.

it seems the hawks(at least here) are getting alot of hype too for next season cause they brought boston to 7. no one seems to care that was case boston was fucking up more so than the hawks stepping up big

I think they have a balanced team, I haven't seen them play much, I just think they are strong at many positions (on paper), hence me liking them. Not really based on this years performance or anything.

Plus they have (what seems to be) a solid frontline in Aldridge and Oden, we all know how I get a hardon for big guys. (Fellow forum members, still...don't flatter yourself.)

Yes - it can only be registered once, and we are already going off-topic... :?

Uhh, isn't there a Blazers thread where a discussion can be started?
Anyway, obviously I somewhat like the Blazers.. (check out my dynasty lol) so it'll be fun to watch them this year.
Roy, Aldridge and Oden will form a pretty solid trio. Sort of like one Magic Johnson and two Kareems.

Hey don't forget bro you guys are missing someone...Martell Webster
Good shooter, atheltic, and very good passer. i think this is their lineup:
C- Oden
F- LaMarcus
F- Webster
G- Roy
G- Jack

and very strong bench with Channing Frye, Travis Outlaw, Steve Blake, and the Fernandez guy and the Prizbla guy and Darius Miles.

I highly doubt Darius Miles will ever play for the Blazers again if in any other team for that matter.

The Blazers certainly seem to have a bright future after the way they surprised everyone last season. I don't think the West will be quite as close a race next season (at the very least I doubt that we'll see eight teams winning 50 games again) and with Oden making his debut they should be in good shape to make the Playoffs. I don't think they'll go very far from there but it could be first step in becoming one of the league's premier teams again.

Hah, even Andrew who's never met a post which he couldn't reply intelligently and thoughtfully to was baffled by that one just like the rest of us.

I personally can't wait to see Oden and Aldridge in action next season. Everyone on that team isn't amazing, but everyone is solid (except Brandon Roy who would be putting up Jesus esque numbers if he didn't have such a well balanced group) and seems to buy into the coach's system while knowing their role.

I think the biggest X-factor for them to be successful is if the highschool fowards (Outlaw and Webster) find some consistency instead of showing flashes for a game or two every week then they'll be set I think.

Who cares about the current Blazers squad, I want to hear about the Jail Blazers, someone should write a book about that locker room, i'd buy it in a heartbeat! Ruben Patterson, Rasheed Wallace, Isiah Rider, Damon Stoudamire, Qyntel Woods, Zach Randolph, Bonzi Wells, and Darius Miles!!! Recipe for disaster!!!! Management must have been clueless during that "era."

Ah, Qyntel Woods. The next Tracy McGrady. I remember I made him average 20-10-3 in an NBA Live dynasty once.

it's hard not to like the Blazers, they've got the most likeable player in the league in Brandon Roy....I'm interested to see what trades that they will make on draft day, they always make the day interesting for me (Y)

They might not be immediately dominant as a tandem but they could well be the next twin tower combo in the NBA. That would be great news for Blazers fans, though I'm slightly less enthused by the possibility knowing that the Bulls could have had Aldridge.

I don't think he's officially retired yet but he was released due to what has been described as a career ending injury.

I think all the new Blazer threads should be merged back into this perfectly good one.

Okay, so. Both are perfectly true statements. Portland needs Greg Oden. They already have a good SG in Roy. Very true.

But what the hell are you talking about?
