Couldn't say, I've only had Foxtel since September 2004 and it's only been on ESPN during that time.

more importantly, they are once again showing the NBA Draft....it's on this Thursday from about 9am to 2.30pm I think....I'll have to tape it since I'm working....will enjoy my favourite day of the year after work
Sat Jun 24, 2006 2:31 pm

Fuck yeah! I get Foxtel installed on Monday

good times.
Sat Jun 24, 2006 3:27 pm
just missed the end of the season....must be a bummer. I waited till start of season to get mine installed simply because it's a waste of money in between time. I just don't watch tv.
Sat Jun 24, 2006 3:28 pm
I'm only paying 1/3 of it so it's not too bad, all I was concerned about was getting it on time for the draft. I still have rugby league to keep me occupied
Sat Jun 24, 2006 3:40 pm
lucky bastard....i pay full ($80) and iwatch the least.
did you fall under the new package of $36 + extra channels @ $15 or whatever. If i had that it'd cost me way less.
EDIT: now that miami are champs they are gonna be on ALL the time.....we'll also see plenty of LeTravel too.
Sat Jun 24, 2006 4:00 pm
Nah I wanted that deal, but we signed up with one that costs $90 per month... I think we get an IQ thing aswell. I'll definitely be in here bitching about the Spelling Bee and whatever though, that kind of shit sounds retarded.
Sun Jun 25, 2006 12:38 pm
I guess it's rate and review time.
All things considered, I think the coverage was still pretty good this year and a step up from last season. Yes, the regular season could have used more variety at times, it's disappointing to see Spelling Bees and other events taking the place of what could be more NBA coverage and having a maximum of two games per week (except during the Conference Finals and NBA Finals) doesn't completely satisfy the hoops junkie, especially when there are more exciting matchups that don't fall on ESPN Australia's scheduled NBA timeslots and thus we miss out on them. But all in all, I thought they did a better job than last year.
The addition of the entire All-Star Weekend, the additional games Bogut's presence brought, the wider variety in the first few rounds of the Playoffs and the usual commitment to showing an entire Conference Finals series and NBA Finals are all commendable. Next year I'd like to see a bit more variety in the regular season and if it's at all feasible, three or four games a week. I wouldn't mind some NBA/ESPN Classic over the offseason (with a little bit here and there during the season) either.

I've suspended my account from July 16 for 3 months, so it will be back up-and-running just in time for start of new NBA season

it will cost me $5 a month to not have to pay $70 a month which I'm happy about....not point me having Foxtel for the off-season....made sure it doesn't disconnect until after the draft
once I get back on in mid-October, I'm going to go onto that Get Started package + Sports package....that'll cost me about $50 per month which is better....it'll be sad to lose channels like Comedy Channel, but I can live without
all I can say is, bring on the draft
Mon Jun 26, 2006 12:16 pm
That's why it's costing me so much every month. Even though the NBA was my main reason for getting Foxtel, I watch the Comedy Channel a lot as well as FOX8, Arena, Fox Classics and TV1...I get plenty of mileage out of it.

Someone told me a little rumor that you guys(Australias) get NBA Coverage ox FOx Sports and ABC
Please tell me its not true
Wed Jul 05, 2006 2:50 pm
Not as far as I'm aware. Sometimes ESPN Australia shows FSN and other regional broadcasts in addition to games shown on ESPN/ABC but Fox Sports only shows NBL games. The Australian ABC only shows WNBL and netball.

Foxtel guide doesn't show World Championships on any of the sports channels. What a shame. There's no way for use to watch them.
