If players deserve to be punished with one game suspensions for accidents, maybe players who put their hands on another player's throat and violently shove them back causing a huge ruckus deserve to be suspended for more than six games. Just a thought. :P But it's not uncommon, hard elbows (accidental or otherwise) almost always result in a one game suspension. Karl Malone's consecutive games streak was broken back in 1998 for that very reason.

hmmm....i don't recall Artest getting a one-game (or any suspension for clotheslining Hamilton last season)....Anyways, Nocioni's play was rough, perhaps a one game suspension, but at least a flagrant foul.

Hey did John Starks get suspended when he did something to make Marion fall head first to the floor, i think Marion had a concusion or something.

Thu Apr 14, 2005 8:47 am

lol it was UNINTENTIONAL contact

prince was holding him by the body so he did a swim move, a very common tactic used to get out of being held. and it's not uncommon for there to be contact on that play

i have no ill will towards brown or van gundy calling nocioni a punk or whatever as i see they are just protecting their players

imo the nba is just making up for not doing anything about the wade incident or at least sending some kind of message to nocioni (which i think is unwarranted)

i wonder what happens now to nocioni when he purposely makes hard contact with a player

Thu Apr 14, 2005 11:39 am

Nocioni is getting a rough image  (Y) He's getting Rodman-like (Y)

Thu Apr 14, 2005 11:45 am

what the hell happened to chandler?

he's ejected from the game in DC?

Thu Apr 14, 2005 1:10 pm

chandler was ejected because he tried to kick haywood while haywood was on the ground

what a stupid f*cking move on his part (N)

When the Wizards held that 26-6 lead, it looked kind of bleak. The final score was at least respectable. They need to win their last four to keep the fourth spot, though if the Wizards and Pacers drop a couple they might be able to scrape by with just two of their last four.

Thu Apr 14, 2005 4:41 pm

pacers look too strong to start dropping games now, looks like it's all o nthe Bulls to win their own

Fri Apr 15, 2005 1:11 pm

As has already been posted elsewhere, Curry will miss the rest of the season while they continue to monitor his condition. Bad news, but I'd rather he didn't end up another Reggie Lewis so if sitting out the rest of the year is for the best, so be it.

Dominating win over the floundering Magic. Indiana lost and Washington won, so the first round matchup were it to take place tomorrow would once again be Chicago against Washington. The Bulls have still got a 1 game lead on the Wizards for the fourth spot, they've in Atlanta tomorrow while Washington has the day off (they play the Bobcats on Sunday, or Monday my time).

Sat Apr 16, 2005 2:56 pm

glad as hell that tyson chandler stepped it up. now he's just gotta finish the season with good stats (as well as his hustle and defense) and i'll be convinced that the bulls are going to be fine in the playoffs.

hats off to pargo. (Y) him and rush were the summer league ballers when they were with LA. i hoped that they were going to be part of the rotation in the future.

A win over Atlanta extends their lead on Washington and Indiana. Indiana's loss has taken some of the pressure off as they can now win a maximum of 46 - Chicago can stay ahead of them with one more win or on the second tiebreaker. Washington's in a much better position to snatch the fourth spot away as they can still win 47 and will win on the first tiebreaker.

woohoo got my playoff tickets in the mail the other day :D

Just noticed that ESPN has dropped the Timberwolves/Spurs game to show Chicago/Indiana. Since that game was scheduled to be shown here on ESPN PR, I'm hoping they'll go with that substitution so I can watch the finale this Thursday. Last Thursday they didn't pick up the Bulls/Wizards game, but they'd already scheduled baseball in that slot.

FOXTEL's online TV guide still says Timberwolves/Spurs, but as long as they keep that slot dedicated to an NBA game I guess there's a chance they'll show the Bulls/Pacers game. Once again, here's hoping. (Y)

Indiana's loss to Orlando prevents them from climbing into the 4th vs 5th series. A 2-0 finish by the Bulls clinches the fourth spot, but they can go 1-1 if Washington also splits their final two.

ESPN PR will also be picking up the Bulls/Pacers game this Thursday. :D

My apologies for the third straight post, but seeing as there aren't any other Bulls fans browsing at the moment...

The victory over New York today (Ben Gordon, again...) and the Wizards' loss to the Nets have served to clinch the 4th seed in the playoffs, thus homecourt advantage in round one.

Wed Apr 20, 2005 2:31 pm

Surely Gordon has to get at least one stray MVP vote.

Wed Apr 20, 2005 2:40 pm

wow... being a crawford fan but bulls fan 1st, this is the type of game wanted to see.

crawford had a big game, hitting big shot after big shot in hinrich's mug but those missed ft's overshadow a solid game by him

hinrich carries the team and gordon closes it out in another playoff atmosphere like game

yes sir. game 1, 4:30 sunday against the wiz AT THE UNITED CENTER BABY!

fgrep or any other big wiz fan, if you want to collaborate on a series preview, PM me

Wed Apr 20, 2005 11:05 pm

wow i watched the the heartbraking game vs NY yesterday and gordon is great. (Y)

What can I say? I was hoping for a better result in the second Bulls game I was able to watch live this season, but it wasn't to be. Those slow starts in the third and fourth quarters didn't help, nor did Jermaine O'Neal successfully fighting through his lingering shoulder problems. I've got to say though, there were some questionable calls/non-calls. The first go-ahead basket O'Neal scored in the third looked like a travel, Nocioni appeared to get hit hard under the basket on a shot without drawing a whistle and for some reason, Reggie didn't get called for a kicked ball when it came off his foot.

Regardless, Indiana did play a lot better in the second half and the Bulls have still get the 4th seed, a fine 47-35 regular season in the books and homecourt advantage in the first round. But like everyone, I hate to see my favourite team lose.

Bring on the Wizards! (Y)

EDIT: Just to add to that...if Pargo had converted on that turnaround after the steal, that really would have been something. Pargo was awesome down the stretch, he's been playing really well lately.

Also, that business with the clock was a bit fishy. It was a little too convenient that it stopped when the Bulls needed a quick reply, since resetting the play allowed Indiana to get back and get their defense set up. Call me a sore loser if you like, but it just seemed very convenient to me. At the very least, it was more second half misfortune for Chicago.

Fri Apr 22, 2005 10:28 am

Andrew, you're sore loser. (j/k) That ball in Reggie's foot was Pargo's fault. He should've let the ball go out of bounds. Also, the Bulls didn't realized how to defend O'Neal. He was going to his left all the time...he has an injured right shoulder, make him go right!!! It was so easy (I'm just saying this 'cause I was laying on my bed watching the TV :P ) it started to piss me off :P

Fri Apr 22, 2005 11:22 am

Perhas Hinrich should have let it go out of bounds, but a kicked ball is supposed to be an immediate turnover. Anyway, what's done is done; the only thing it really affected was the final road record, which will be 20-21. If they'd finished above .500 on the road as well as at home that would have been yet another awesome turnaround, but 20-21 is a great road record for a team that started 0-9 and won just 3 road games just a couple of seasons ago.

Sat Apr 23, 2005 5:44 am

lol the series hasn't even started and wizard players are already complaining the bulls being dirty players, probably in hopes to get some calls.

lol c'mon, gilbert & co., you guys already have the advantage on paper. you guys aren't crybabies- at least wait until the games start. besides, more fouls= slower pace, which favors the bulls

no matter what, imo the series will get called tight from the get go, the officials are aware of the bad blood between the 2 teams and they need to set some kind of precedent.

Sat Apr 23, 2005 3:05 pm

if the Wizards keep talking shit and dont focus on the game they are gonna get their asses killed on the court by the Bulls.

some great news for the bulls and their fans (Y)...

Bulls center Eddy Curry could be cleared to resume physical activity as early as Thursday or Friday if team doctors accept the diagnosis of a prominent Los Angeles-based cardiologist.

Dr. David Cannom, an expert on ventricular arrhythmias and chief of cardiology at Good Samaritan Hospital, has determined that Curry's enlarged heart isn't a life-threatening situation and is consistent with an athlete's heart, according to sources.

"I'd rather not comment," Cannom said late Wednesday when reached by phone. "You'd need to talk to Dr. Cole."

Attempts to reach Bulls physician Brian Cole were unsuccessful.

Sources said Cannom's diagnosis is consistent with that of Dr. Mark Estes, another prominent cardiologist Curry saw in Boston shortly after experiencing an irregular heartbeat before a March 30 game in Charlotte.

"I just feel relieved because I want to start working out again," Curry said Wednesday in a phone interview. "I miss playing basketball. I feel weird not playing."

Curry, 22, has been inactive since the Charlotte game, missing the final 13 regular-season games and the playoffs.

excellent and now that new CBA should be ratified soon, the tough part is over. its just a matter of agreeing on the dollar amonts for curry & chandler
