I have only watched like two Knicks games this year, but Tyson Chandler continues to be one of the most efficient players in the league. How are Knicks fans feeling about him?
Fri Jan 13, 2012 4:34 am
Surprised Chandlah's been even better as the Knick. ORTG 145 DRTG 98 TS 786%. The most efficient player in recent history of NBA. He rarely makes a bad decision with the ball in his hands, rebounds that leads to tips, and sets good picks. Also puts in great effort in Defense. *shudders* Sounds like a perfect fit for the Heat team.

Tyson Chandler has made his presence felt this season. He's the biggest cheer leader on the bench and is always pushing guys to try harder on defense. Even though he hasn't been rebounding the ball that well this season (Last few games he's been double digits but before that he was struggling) he has shown that his impact can be felt way above statistics. He knows his role on offense, and has been playing so great. Happy to have him.

He wasn't scoring in bunches when he was still with the Mavs. I wouldn't be surprised if I root for the Knicks if the Mavs decided to go out of the first round again.

I'm surprised so many Knicks' fan like Shumpert. I saw a bit of him in college. He's definitely a 2 & not a 1. He's an NBA player, but I don't see him as a starter. I'll have to fire up a Knicks' game as haven't really seen him so far since I'm basing on his college resume.

Last night was a disgrace - no defense, turnovers, horrible shot selection - WTF? Hey Pringles, you're supposed to be the coach - tell the rookie to stop with the bad shots!

I'm not as annoyed with Shumpert as I am with Douglas, I mean for fuck sakes - This guy has put up NOTHING but bricks this season. Shump's a rookie, it's understandable but not excusable for him, but Douglas? C'mon man.

Shumpert took 15 shots in the first half alone. For a team with Melo and Stoudemire as the main offensive weapons, I think that was too much. D'Antoni probably told him to take better shots during halftime coz he took 20 shots overall (only 5 in the 2nd half).

I agree. He is a shooting guard, much like Toney Douglas is. Both players' first tendency is too shoot the ball and not to set up their teammates.
Anyway, any news regarding Melo's injuries? Will he be sidelined?
Sat Jan 14, 2012 7:22 am
First reports suggest he's going to be sidelined for at least 2 games, not confirmed reports though.
I agree on your point about Shumpert though, but while Davis is not playing - He's our #1 choice at Point.

Surprised to be saying Melo isn't the problem in NY but Amare is at this moment. His numbers have taken a hit since Melo's arrival but even worse this season playing alongside Chandler.

http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/rumors-scoop-du-jour/bobcats-put-boris-diaw-trading-block-111118479.htmlBoris Diaw is on the trading block. Amar'e for Boris?

Amare really needs a PG that will run the pick and roll with him. Surprisingly, I think Melo has jelled more with Chandler than he has with Amare. It is pretty evident with all the alley-oops Melo has thrown to Tyson which just means they know each others tendencies/spots on offense.

Knicks are such a mess on offense. I must most of it on the head coach. Pringles is supposed to be an offensive 'genius'. He has to figure out a way to get Amar'e more shots - do some P&R, start moving the ball better, damn.
Thu Jan 19, 2012 2:30 am
They just need a point guard. After having Felton, then Billups last season, the rotation this year has been a terrible combo guard, Mike Bibby, and a rookie SG. Baron might help with the halfcourt lobs, but I wouldn't expect Baron to be any better than Shump.

D'Antoni's system needs a decent PG to be successful, which the Knicks doesn't have.
BRING BACK CHRIS DUHON!
Fri Jan 20, 2012 2:00 am
Un-friggin-believable - losing to the 4-8 Suns AT HOME?????? Baron Davis is at least three weeks away. They better get their shit together NOW!

I think Baron Davis (if motivated, healthy, and in shape) will get the job done. Better than Toney Douglas for sure.

Knicks are on a slump again... Really tough watching this team suffer because of their lack of a legit playmaker..
Sun Jan 22, 2012 8:58 am
I'm so disgusted with the Knicks right now. Losing to Phoenix was bad enough, but losing to a team that hasn't won a road game? Disgraceful. And I'm sick of Brandon Jennings torching this team. But let's be honest - this is a D-league roster outside of the big three. No floor leader, no bench, lousy coaching - the Knicks suck.
They can't beat teams like Phoenix and Milwaukee - imagine what's going to happen against the NBA's elite? Denver has the second-best record in the western conference. I have a feeling the crowd will get REAL ugly tonight. Watch Gallo have a career game.

I miss Gallo and Wilson

But that team wasn't going to contend for a title either. Just gotta hope this team can go on a run when Davis comes back.

What a feel-bad game for Melo and his fans.

Amare needs to step up but even with that Melo needs to be more consistent with his performance. He's definitely not living up to his salary.

I hope, but I don't think having Davis back will stop the ball ending up with Melo. Tonight was just horrible, even Frazier was having some strong words against Melo and his lack of effort on team work.
Jeffx wrote:thor16 wrote:I miss Gallo and Wilson

We would've been in a better shape than now. Once we got Melo we finished 14-14 and lost the run'n'gun style we had, also spacing the floor, defense (little bit that we had, it's gone now anyway).
It's not even D'Antonis fault so to say, he can't make a team that has
no interest(spearheaded by Melo) in defending, defend.

Again, this a two way street - Amar'e needs to be more assertive and Melo needs to be ALOT less selfish. You can't expect consistency when the opposing scouting report looks like "Just double team Melo, he won't pass anyway lololool."
Don't get me wrong guys, Melo is one hell of a player and I love having him on the Knicks - But he needs to adjust to Knicks, not the other way around.
Sun Jan 22, 2012 2:31 pm
Amar'e only takes ONE shot in the 4th quarter and BOTH OTs??????
Un-friggin-believable.
Where's Pringles in all of this? He should be telling Carmelo to be less selfish and Amar'e more assertive.
