Exactly, he's already marrying Jeannie so he'd relish a role like Tex's for someone like Shaw. But alas, first the Buss family drove off Jerry West and then Phil Jackson.
The choices they've been making lately isn't very comforting. Especially when you've got the dumbest coach ever running the same damn system every where he goes and refusing to adapt to his players.

New Orleans has shown strong interest in acquiring Rockets center Omer Asik, w/ an offer likely centered on Ryan Anderson, sources tell Y!
I know I'm late responding to this, so I don't know if the talks are still on. Ryan Anderson would be an excellent addition; he'd ultimately be the jumpshooting big man that, in my opinion, the Rockets need.

Apart from Houston's frustrating traffic and the suffocating hot weather, that wouldn't be so bad.

It's the problem people point to when discussing the disappearance of Linsanity. I think the problem will fix itself as Harden matures as a player; if he can eliminate some of the ill-advised shots he takes, that would be a step forward.

Dwight Howard is a top 5 player in this league, perhaps tops 3, when he is healthy. critics want to point at his lack of post game but he needs to regain his form as the reigning DPOY.
he has a full off season to get healthy. if he's back to leading the league in defensive win shares and rating plus can flop his way to at least 18ppg, the Rockets are in great shape.

How much did the Houston offered Dwight?
Tue Jul 09, 2013 10:54 am
The maximum, which would be four years/$88 million if I recall correctly.

Howard Wanted to Move on from Bryant Era?Interesting read. At the same time, on par with my initial take on the issue.
Fri Jul 12, 2013 11:11 am
Haha Howard still doesn't get that he needs to earn the respect and not just expect to get it because he's Dwight Howard.
You don't get that by being kicked out of a playoff game that could end the season or all the other crap he did.

Still, I wonder how the Lakers are going to handle that moving forward, especially with Kobe talking about perhaps playing another couple of years after all. If they are going to make a run at one of the top names in 2014, will Kobe be willing to pass the torch and take a backseat, if he's playing beyond this coming season? If not, players who are a better fit than Howard will probably still take a pass. For example...I don't see LeBron opting out in Miami at all, unless it's to sign a bigger deal, but if he does opt out with an eye to keeping his options open, I doubt he'd come to Los Angeles to be Kobe's sidekick.

Absolutely, Andrew. With such attitude, it's a tough situation in LA.
And this also makes PERFECT sense...
"Kobe Bryant insists on control, and that can be tremendous or terrible for the Los Angeles Lakers, writes Henry Abbott."http://espn.go.com/blog/truehoop/post/_ ... ll-controlGreat read.

Good read indeed. It shouldn't diminish the criticism of Howard, of course, who has plenty to prove and hasn't handled himself flawlessly these past couple of years. But it's a concern for the Lakers as the Kobe era (presumably) draws nearer to a close.

Well, now that he's made his decision, he'll have to put his money where his mouth is.

Was I the only one to lol at them being the "new Shaq & Kobe"?

Nope, you were not...

It's a lofty comparison but hey, if Monta Ellis is as good as Dwyane Wade...
Tue Jul 16, 2013 5:28 pm
I think Oden & Roy were closer to becoming the next Shaq & Kobe.

For a guy who wants to be liked real bad, this can not be doing him much good.

I want the Dwight Howard hate to be more than LeBron's even if it's reasonable or not since what Dwight did with his past teams were worse than what LeBron did.
I didn't know Hamm can host!
Sun Jul 21, 2013 3:04 am
Howard doesn't even deserve the hate, he hasn't done much besides pout and tell himself he's a winner.
Lebron actually plays like the best player in the league, can't even say Dwight plays like the best center night in & night out.

If the Rockets win it all next season I'd say it's possible. Do you want them to though? lol
Sun Jul 21, 2013 3:11 am
If it means the Heat not threepeating then sure, Go Team Rockets then.
Sun Jul 21, 2013 3:23 am
It'd be fun to see the Rockets in the Finals against the Heat. Will people watch two of the most hated players in league history? I think so. TV rating will do great.
