i thought this one was pretty nice...
Sun Jan 23, 2011 9:39 pm
All were nice, but the reverse dunk by Griffin would have to be my favourite out of those three.
Mon Jan 24, 2011 1:18 am
yea, throw it in reverse big fella. I didnt see that coming.
Mon Jan 24, 2011 4:57 am
although i liked the reverse better, i did also like the one airberlin posted. it was almost a superman dunk, a nice happy medium between a superman and a regular dunk. love the sound it made when he dunked it... sounded like a video game.

We all knew Blake was a thunderous dunker when he first came to the league, but with this much of impact? Definitely worth a wait... We waited 1 year to see this kid in action and it's nothing short of spectacular. For the first time in my life, I have been clicking on every Clippers highlights each night.
ROY and a dunk contest winner by default. Second won't even come close.

Caught that on the Top 10 Plays for the 24th.

Another one that made the countdown:
Thu Jan 27, 2011 1:18 am
the dunks have gotten a bit lamer lately
still....
Point Chandler?
Thu Jan 27, 2011 9:16 am
Yeah, I'd give the nod to Chandler out of those two.

ok, JR is nasty, and I remember a time when people got T'd up for doing what the landlord did.....and not for looking at a ref the wrong way
anyway
Fri Jan 28, 2011 2:04 am
Second JR one was sick.
And I know you posted the Nate one because of the rim hanging, but I remember there was a big discussion here about doing that kinda alley-oop with a big lead.
Fri Jan 28, 2011 9:25 am
Good stuff all around. A couple of others from yesterday:
Fri Jan 28, 2011 10:01 am
I like Dwight's dunk.

Could have been +1 too. Dwight owned taller but weaker Hibbert. Classic...
Also from Jao's post, Nate's dunk was sick. Perfect set up + finish.

Sat Jan 29, 2011 11:21 pm
Didn't even know it was a "Superman throw down " until the reply.
Sun Jan 30, 2011 12:31 am
Fuck that was nice
Sun Jan 30, 2011 5:08 am
Nice one from Thursday night.
Sun Jan 30, 2011 6:14 pm
i tihnk i got a boner when i saw this while watching the clippers & bobcats play earlier.

Even though I still don't feel entirely right about an attempt being called a dunk if the player doesn't touch the rim, much like Griffin over Mozgov that was an awesome play whatever you want to call it.

Ridiculous 3/4 court alley-oop from Foye to Griffin:
Two more from Griffin, plus the aforementioned alley-oop:
Ronnie Brewer over Josh McRoberts:
And one from yesterday:

I would not be so nit-picky about what to call it, but apart from the labelling I find those plays just awesome. It has the authority of a normal dunk and the "ohh ahh - effect" of an artistic play because the guys pulling it off is pretty far away from the rim and you don't expect a proper finish in that position.
I love it

I've already gone into my position on that in depth so I won't get too off-topic with it again, but I completely agree that it looks cool, even if I rate dunks where players grab onto the rim and leave the board swaying and shaking a little higher.

Brewer on McRoberts was nasty. Stacey King's call was awesome as usual.
