Knicks need to be interested in better big men like Marc Gasol or Nene. Tyson Chandler would be pretty crazy too. He'd bring some much needed defense. Him, Stoudemire, and Anthony would make one hell of a frontcourt. Not sure how much $$$ the Knicks have to spend though. Chandler could be in for a big payday with the way he's played this year, particularly if the Mavs win it all. Though I can't imagine why TC would leave Dallas right after winning a championship... :?

Like always, money. Since he already won a ring (if they win it all) all he needs to worry about is another big payday.

If it was me, I'd stick around and try for another ring, with a team that good.

Trevor Ariza is a recent example of a player who chose money (and in his case, more shots/minutes) over a shot at another championship, so it certainly wouldn't be unprecedented. Chandler does strike me as being more comfortable in his role in Dallas, though.

Pringles has one more year, then his ass is out.

If they get off to a sluggish start next season, do you think they'd can him before it's through?

I sure hope so. Shit, I hope he refuses to hire a defensive coach so they'll fire his ass. Watching the Bulls put some hellafied 'D' on Wade and Lebron makes me hate D'Amdummy even more. Be thankful Bulls management lowballed him on the money, forcing him to come here.

Yeah, can't say I'm too heartbroken over the way that went down. Not rolling the dice on Melo seems to have been a good decision as well, though I do think the Knicks will be able to benefit from that deal long term.

D'Antoni out Isiah Thomas in! YEAH!

That's certainly a gloomy possibility, though Dolan might just be smart enough not to do that given the outrage when he tried to hire Thomas back as a consultant. Unfortunately, he'll surely still let Thomas unofficially pull some strings and influence decisions behind the scenes, which is bad enough.

Hey, that still leaves plenty of titles yet to be won.

Knicks fans can still be excited for the 2027-28 championship season!

I've already accepted the fact that I'll be lone gone before the Knicks win another title.

Once Donnie Walsh leaves, Brain-Dead Dolan will turn this team into a laughingstock again.

Watching teams like Miami and Chicago play defense makes me so frustrated with the Knicks. I don't care who they bring in, Knicks will be bottom-feeders until they raise the level of defense. And that won't happen with this coach. Donnie Walsh, wake up and smell the coffee!

Must be hard to see, especially remembering what they were like in 90's

In all fairness, Walsh may well realise it. The problem is likely the guy who can overrule him while listening to someone else down in Florida.

I know the Knicks are stuck with Pringles for one more season. I just HOPE Walsh forces him to hire a defensive coach.

So Alan Hahn just announced on twitter that Donnie Walsh is not returning as the Knicks president & GM, he is staying as a consultant..... Ridiculous and fucking absurd. This honestly ruined my day.

There goes the Knicks' future.

Re: The Knicks Thread....

Sat Jun 04, 2011 6:48 am

From Frank Isola on Twitter; The Daily News has learned that Jim Dolan's contract offer to Donnie Walsh included a 40 percent pay cut.

Can you believe that shit? This is the same Dolan who raised ticket prices for a team that finished SEVENTH in the eastern conference. This is truly a sad day for Knick fans. After ten years of mismanagement(thanks to Dolan, Scott Layden and Isiah Thomas), Donnie Walsh came here, got us under the cap, and put NY on the right track. With him gone, and Dolan and his MSG flukies in charge, the franchise is fucked again.

That's a real slap in the face to Walsh, can't blame him one bit for choosing not to return. Shame on Dolan.

At least the teams are being consistent. They want players to take a big pay cut, it means that front office personnel & coaches will also take a hit.

I doubt Dolan's looking to cut down on his take, not with ticket prices going up.
