Re: Trade Deadline Deals

I kinda like Canaan but I don't believe he's going to be anything special especially in this PG heavy league. KJ is a rookie with solid potential and he plays a position that's harder to find good players at. This is type of move that you want to see rebuilding teams to avoid.

MCW trade is also puzzling. You don't trade a promising talent for likely a low end draft pick especially in the midst of rebuilding. What is it that they hated him so much that they sent MCW for a bag of chips?

Are the 76ers trying to rebuild a rebuilding team? :facepalm2:

Jennings at his best < Reggie's Potential

Yeah, he's instantly the 2nd best shooter on the team. Doesn't look like much of a playmaker, though. What can you say about his defense?

Stress Fracture wrote:Tony Wroten is your starting PG now? Is he even a PG?

A scoring combo guard who is useless without the ball in his hands, so it's best to play him at PG, yeah. Anyway, he's out for the rest of the season after a surgery to repair his partially torn ACL. That's why I said Canaan is now the only PG on the roster, other than Tim Frazier who just got a second 10-day and is likely to start tomorrow against Indiana.

On a half-joke, half-serious note, Wroten's injury may have prevented him from getting traded for a pick as well.

Guess they're optimistic about where the pick will fall and when they're getting it. That's all I can come up with.

At least y'all have JaVale McGee to make things bearable. :P

I don't understand Philly trading MCW. you have to stop tanking at some point, right??

lol wat

What's Reggie Jackson's potential? He'll be 25 at the end of the season, averaging probably 16 pts per 36 for his career, can't shoot the three, doesn't get to the line, plays weak defense and thinks he's worth a max contract. He turned down $12 million a year from the Thunder. If the Pistons give him that or more it'll be like Joe D is still in charge.

Wow benji wow, fantaaastik Jennins isnt his!

Do you think Jennings could have done better in his shoes on a team with 2 notorious usage thugs? That bust couldn't even co-exist with Ellis and Sanders.

Reggie's career pretty much starts now. Give this kid a chance and he'll surprise you. (maybe he rejected 12m deal because he wanted a starting gig)

Really can't say something about his defense. He only gets to play when it's garbage time and when players are injured. And I'm not really able to watch games.

Expect him and Covington to have chemistry, they were teammates also at the Vipers in the D-League.

I feel like you're just saying things randomly at this point. You almost literally just posted this in a different thread:

I might be wrong but I don't think Reggie Jackson is anything special considering how deep layers of PG talent go in this league.

Would you label being better than Jennings something special? Top tier PGs are special namely Westbrook, CP3, Lillard, Curry, Dragic, u wan moa?

What's wrong with arguing?

Better that than to suck it and agree with everything.

The Celtics had agreed to buy out Tayshaun Prince if a trade couldn't be completed, a source said. But an unexpected deal with Detroit came along, and Prince wasn't exactly thrilled to be going to the Pistons.

IKR? Prince seems to bitch about everywhere he goes these days.

Well, you try living in Detroit.

benji should know a thing or two about it I assume.

Re: Trade Deadline Deals

Wed Feb 25, 2015 12:08 pm

What a sorry excuse for a team. the 76ers, with their no-name (even by our standards) roster, were $14 million below the salary floor before the deadline. They got a 1st round pick and Javale McGee in a salary dump and still needed to spend $3 million to meet the minimum. So they claim Thomas Robinson (and his $3.6 million contract) off of waivers after he verbally agreed to join Brooklyn.

Let's just hope the Sixers somehow manage to snag LeBron James from Cleveland during the offseason like Joel Embiid asked him to.

Re: Trade Deadline Deals

Because if the Sixers don't meet the minimum they don't get their proper share of league revenue.

It may be a shit team now but they do smart financial decisions.
Making people money is what gets you keep your job.

Yeah, on a 10-day contract. After being claimed off of waivers, Philly has him for the remainder of the season and reaches the salary floor.

People are, again, acting up as if the Sixers did anything that wasn't well within their rights. Typical.

Because it takes superior intellectuals like shadowgrin to understand Hinkie's supreme plan that will enlighten the league. Unfortunately most of us are dummies that find the situation peculiar and funny.

Perhaps entire nation will realize how stupid they were upon their success, and be willing to adopt this magnificent model of rebuilding.

Re: Trade Deadline Deals

Wed Feb 25, 2015 11:25 pm

And what exactly does this have to do with the waiver claim of Robinson and people freaking out that he had a verbal agreement to sign a 10-day with Brooklyn if he isn't claimed by anyone?
