Ah, so you want the Celtics to draft a superstar point guard who eventually wins a Finals MVP.

Celtics also had the best odds to get Durant, but since that went to hell, they went for KG and Allen. Jabari Parker was also compared to LeBron during his junior season in HS, so missing on Wiggins might have a silver lining.

You don't think they'll try and rebuild around Rondo? Or for that matter, are you that in much in favour of trading him? Even with Rondo around, they're probably going to have a great shot at getting the top pick.

i can't wait for all the rondo lovers to eat their words this year when he has to carry a team. it will expose all of his glaring weaknesses and hopefully people will stop considering him as an elite PG

i also like the Magic will suck again next season but if Tobias Harris will emerge as an Allstar, then i'll be satisfied for that :)

In terms of his skills and talent, I think he has to be considered one of the best point guards in the league and will remain so without any other All-Stars on the roster. However, it remains to be seen whether he's actually capable of being a franchise player.

the league has a number of great PGs now, so it's really hard to put his name up there. cp3 is the best imo. but you had veterans like deron, parker, kidd, nash along with young guys like westbrook, irving & lillard and now even conley, curry, & jrue have stepped their games up. oh and rose is still there. it's hard to say that rondo is definitely better than any of these guys, maybe kidd because of his age. i'd say, numbers-wise, even vasquez is as good as rondo and he shoots a lot better than him too.

I think rondo's assist numbers will drop with a new system and without veteran hall of famers shooting immediately after he passes them the ball. doc's system was very good at getting open shots and all rondo had to do was hit them with the pass. i think he'll have to create more next year. most teams played off of rondo because his jump shot is shaky at best, and he always found a seam and found KG or pierce or allen, but now he won't have that luxury and he'll either have to shoot it because he's "the man" now or rely on a humphries mid-range jumper. only time will tell.

I'm assuming a lineup of Olynyk/Humphries, Bass, Wallace, Lee, Rondo with Green off the bench. Plus Bradley is a great defender so he could take time away from Rondo.

it has always been my opinion that he is not a player you can build a team around. i want him traded now before his stock plummets

I also think Rondo's value was inflated by playing alongside great players in a great system. Though Jrue looks like a terrible PG with hype(even going into his fifth season), at least he's young at age of 22.

Does this happen often with the Celtics?

That's one glum bunch. I vaguely recall another photo from a few years back featuring some rather unexcited players being introduced at a press conference, though off the top of my head I can't remember who they were or which team it was. In any case, this photo can join that one in the scrapbook of the NBA's Most Depressing Press Conferences & Player Introductions.

I was thinking of the last KG trade but can't find the photo. I remember Jefferson and Green and Telfair all looking like their life was over.

This one from a week ago was pretty good:

A bigger one of Celtics:

And apparently they can smile!

At least Brooks used a greed tie, and where is crash? and Bogans had the biggest smile, I wonder if that's because of his new contract from BK lol. Good ridance to them there in Boston!

Oh btw this was the offseason few years back in NJ, our own version on Fantastic 5!
