What you said can't really be a fact. It's more like an assumption. But yes, why the WCF started early is an interesting question.

Re: 2013 Eastern Finals: Miami Heat (1) vs. Indiana Pacers (

It's a fact.
The league makes the schedule for the playoff matches after every round.
Schedule that needs to be approved by David Stern.
You're looking for a direct link between the Heat and Stern but the facts indirectly point to that help.

In all seriousness, good question. Certainly a break from the normal scheduling of the Conference Finals.

Re: 2013 Eastern Finals: Miami Heat (1) vs. Indiana Pacers (

It's because ABC had to have a Sunday game. And rather than have the Grizzlies sit idly in San Antonio, they instead built the break into that schedule after the second game, so each team could spent the intervening time at home. Heat-Pacers will complete its second game before Game 3 of Grizzlies-Spurs in Memphis on Saturday night.

Just found out the Heat are 45-3 in last 48 games. The Pacers will need to beat the Heat 1 more time than total they lost in last 48 games in this series.

Fair enough.

It's tough listening to Reggie Miller commentating the game. I wonder why he's bit* Pacers biased.

EDIT: Couple things noticed from Game 1 that's still going on.
- Bosh couldn't rebound/defend jack as expected.
- Anderson got a lot of freebies because Hibbert had to play a lot of help D (it's why Hibbert gets into foul trouble. and how the Pacers play defense differently to the Bulls.)
- We need Wade. He's great.

OmfG. George just tied the game. :shake:

EDIT: LEBROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON JAAMMMES

Paul George with the fail defense... (N)

Maybe he thought Hibbert would bail him out as usual.

Why was Hibbert on the bench?

Re: 2013 Eastern Finals: Miami Heat (1) vs. Indiana Pacers (

LBJ for the win! And an atrocious defense for George.

prediction: heat by 15 in game two

On the last possession? I think it's because the Heat went small to open up the floor, because Hibbert is easy to beat off the dribble outside of paint area. On the previous possession, I thought it was Vogel's mistake.

EDIT: Didn't even realize LeBron had a triple double. 30-10-10 with 3 blocks, team best in everything and nearly game best in everything. That's just insane.

Who's your MVP?

But still kinda feeling shaky on DWade. Norris played fine. And what to say about Bosh...

Damn, that's conspiracy all right. shadowgrin connecting the dots...

Vogel's decision to sit out Hibbert will probably haunt him for the rest of the series.

Yeah. Pacers should have won the game before OT but yes, it was clearly a mistake to sit Hibbert. Still had to laugh when I saw Hibbert's facial expression following LBJ's game winning layup.

LeBron came up big in the clutch, as the Pacers let a very good opportunity slip through their fingers. While there's no guarantee that Hibbert would've turned back or altered the shot, there was certainly no chance of him doing that while he was sitting on the bench. Definitely a blunder on Vogel's part, though for his part Hibbert won't remain quiet if it happens again.

2 things

1. there is nothing new about me
2. i have seen this happen enough in basketball. overmatched team has a great game one, gets destroyed in game 2. want proof? go watch the bulls vs heat game 2

sauru's right, he's not new but he's been a basketball junkie for decades like myself. But he's just a Celtics.

And I hope he's also right on the second thing he mentioned as well.

I'm not even a Bulls fan but the game should have made the Bulls proud, especially with Jimmy Butler defending LeBron so well. Paul George wasn't any better if not worse.

The Pacers have the advantage of being in somewhat better shape than the Bulls so they are in a better position to avoid that, but all the same that does seem like a solid prediction. It wouldn't surprise me greatly if we saw that.

I still think game 2 ends within a 10 point differential but I also give the Heat the edge in that.
Game 1 was the game Pacers have to steal to win the series.

I'm hoping Heat will step up their game. And Wade really needs to stay out of foul trouble. Still no word on whether Rio will play or not.

I don't know why you think Pacers would have won. That 30 footer 3 from Paul George was luck, Ray Allen missing a FT was luck as well. It was seeming to be their day.

I just can imagine the unspeakable things Hibbert was imagining to do to Vogel :P

I'm not saying that you are new, I said that just because of the fact that somebody who is not a Heat fan rooting for Heat.

However, as Andrew said Bulls and Pacers aren't the same. But in my opinion, the Heat will win by 5-6 points. We will see...

Pacers could have won if they'd been able to avoid some of those terrible turnovers and other mistakes they made late in the game.
